Tamoxifen 5mg side effects

I tried this drug by the 6th day I could not function I ended up in the doctors because of the pain in my head and my vision I can't even describe the way my brain felt the depression the muscle cramps The Hot Flashes this isn't worth it to me I will not take any of this poison they say helps because it does so much damage to the rest of your body. I just wonder what others have experienced. Why do the oncologists not listen to the patients and they act like these side effects are not a big deal . It has been 6 days and I'm still having side effects with the brain issues I can't imagine what someone goes through staying on this medication. I am still pushing through the radiation fatigue and that's enough to deal with as far as I'm concerned.

I am lucky. I have noticed no side effects from tamoxifen even though my team told me I "probably would have" menopausal side effects. I got the feeling that more than 50% of people do get side effects like hot flashes, emotional changes etc. although i didn't hear any specific percentage.
I'm so sorry you had such horrible side effects. I totally would have stopped too if I had experienced what you experienced.
My oncologist said, "let's see if you can tolerate tamoxifen" when she sent the prescription. I've been on it for over a year now while i had three lumpectomies and still have no side effects.

I'm on an AI and have been on it a year and a half. No discernible side effects apart from normal menopausal symptoms that are easily dealt with. Perhaps you'd do better on that.
