Bloody discharge, Mammo & ultrasound today

I noticed I had some dark red blood from my right nipple about two weeks ago. When I went to the doctor, they noticed a clear discharge from the left as well. Today I had a mammogram and ultrasound done. The radiologist found two lumps, one near each nipple, and said they were probably benign and to follow up with an MRI, see a breast specialist, and have another mammogram/ultrasound in 3 months. I am also waiting for the results of checking my pituitary gland. None of the hormonal imbalances that can cause discharge seem to match up with my symptoms. Has anyone else experienced something similar?

Radiology Report

Bilateral breast ultrasound

HISTORY: Nipple discharge body on the right clear on the left and bilateral fullness

Sonographic examination of the breasts and axilla was performed bilaterally. Multiple static images were obtained. There is a hypoechoic mass in the 10:00 periareolar right breast that measures 9 x 4 x 9 mm. This is well-circumscribed and gently lobulated and wider than tall and nonshadowing and has no detectable blood flow. There is a prominent duct inthe 9:00 periareolar right breast. There is a small mass in the left breast 3:00 8 cm nipple has similar features. This measures 5 x 3 x 4 mm. There is aprominent duct in the retroareolar left breast. There is normal-appearing lymph nodes in the axilla bilaterally.

IMPRESSION:

1. Benign-appearing masses bilaterally could be fibroadenoma.

2. Mildly prominent ducts bilaterally.

3. No suspicious findings.

Recommend bilateral breast ultrasound in 3 months to assess stability. If unexplained nipple discharge persists additional investigation such as bilateral breast MRI should be considered. The patient could also see a breast specialist if she has not already. These results were given to the patient in person.

BI-RADS Category 3: Probably Benign

before cancer I had the same symptoms as you. Bloody discharge. It was a fibroadenoma. Removed surgically. Easy peasy.
