  • Hi, Lori5. My hair was already thin from my first round of chemo in 2020. Once I started enhertu in 2023, The hair came out in patches, so I shaved it off (a little more than a year ago). It is growing back slowly and still thin, but the top/crown is still patchy and the scalp is visible. My oncologist says it will grow back. Eh... I have lost hope for hair in my future.

I had a lot of hair fall out but it’s growing back. I cut it short and like it. I’m struggling with appetite, depression, fatigue, and motivation on this med. Anyone else and if so, what helps?

@txmom We're so sorry you're struggling on Enhertu. Many have similar side effects but if you haven't already, you may want to talk to your MO about reducing your dose to see if it improves. How long have you been on Enhertu? Are you on an antidepressant?

  • Hi!

I'm on my second Enhertu and losing so much hair I don't think I will have any in a few months. I am on the lowest possible dose after the first one was unmanageable with nausea, depression and extreme fatigue.

  • After two Enhertu treatments, my hair started coming out in patches. I had been through hair loss with my first chemo treatments seven years ago and decided to go ahead and shave my head. I now wear a wig. Rapid weight gain has also been a problem. My diet hasn't changed, but I don't feel like moving since I started the Enhertu treatments, so exercise is very limited. Nausea has also been a problem. Overall, the Enhertu's side effects aren't nearly as difficult to live with as the previous chemotherapy treatments.

    Hello

I have a question please help me get the best decision. After 3 cycle of enhertu, on my scan all lesions disappeared except on spot on L2 increase in size. Onco want to change treatment and I don’t have to much option left, I suggest to give enhertu more time to do its job. What do you think guys?? Thank you

I am not currently on enhertu but it is probably next on my list so I keep my eye on this thread.

Personally, with any treatment, I would give it more time based on those results.

I think I would also take into consideration how many other lesions there were prior to this treatment. Did it kill many or just one or two?

Did your pain increase on L2 as a result?

    Good luck.

@fighter00 sounds like it is working very well for you! That's great you can return to work. I am still working too and it's my sanity!

  • @fighter00, I'd ask my oncologist if giving the enhertu more time will hurt anything, given your encouraging progress so far. Going back to work after a year on enhertu really improved my quality of life — it pulled me out of depression and helped me believe in myself again. After each monthly infusion, I have to take a week off to recover. But outside of that, I can contribute and be a relatively productive member of society even if I'm not feeling 100% ok all the time.

I am set to begin Enhurtu in about 2 weeks. I had been on Kisqali. Rogue cells infiltrated my digestive tract and I ended up with a partially blocked intestine. I had surgery on Friday and was released from the hospital on Monday. I am exhausted and terrified about what is ahead. Any advice or suggestions about the new drug would be appreciated. Thanks

@casey714 wishing you a good recovery from your surgery, hugs to you. I have been started on Enhertu and have had two infusions. I had to get a port placed. So far I seem to tolerate it ok. They prescribed anti nausea meds and that has been pretty well controlled. I have been losing a lot of hair and had a mouth sore. I have a lot of fatigue right after the infusion for a couple days but better after that. My white counts got low so they gave me a cell growth stimulant. Last labs looked good. Here's hoping it torches cancer cells for both of us.

Mkestrel, thank you so much for your kind words. I have been sleeping mostly and trying to get some food down after the surgery. I will keep you posted on my next steps. Hugs to you all!!
