Abnormal ALP level
My ALP level is 134 and the cut off point here for a normal level is 130. I have to have it tested again on Christmas Eve... Do you think it is a sign of metastatic spread to bone? My other liver enzymes were normal. This is the first time that my ALP has been abnormal, so I am very worried and I have convinced myself that it has spread to bone.

Hi @gigi66, lots of things can impact ALP. While I am not a doctor I know that gall bladder and/or pancreatic issues can impact ALP levels hugely, not just metastases to the bone. Also ALP can be impacted if you have had a fatty meal and are a certain blood type - I believe it is O. Recent dental work can also sometimes impact ALP. The best advice I can give you is to enjoy the season and distract yourself with the joy and goodwill that is around. In your pocket with support.

It's understandable to be concerned, but ALP levels can be influenced by various factors, not just bone metastasis. It's important to wait for further testing and discuss with your doctor for accurate interpretation.
