Revision Surgery (swapping UTM to OTM)
Hi All!
I would love to hear from those that have swapped UTM (subpectoral) implants for OTM. I had my mastectomy in 2015 and UTM was recommended. I have since developed capsular contracture, as well as animation deformity which has had a noticeable impact on my chest strength/yoga practice. I also have an overall tight feeling at all times, which I’ve grown used to but could do without…lol.
I have surgery scheduled to swap these babies for OTM on January 30th. (Crazy enough, it’s 10 years to the day from my bilateral mastectomy!!) I’m curious about recovery time as well as satisfaction with results. (Strength, aesthetics, and comfort).
Thank you in advance!!

I am wondering the same thing. I had my BMX with UTM tissue expanders and then implants. My issue is upper back issues. Specifically my upper ribs. They are continually being pulled out of place. My Mfr massage therapist that I have seen for the last 9 years said it is from my UTM implants. I am not wanting to go flat so I am exploring having my implants placed OTM, hoping to alleviate my issues.
My PS is retiring in the next few months. So I have a consult in the next few weeks and a possible surgery date in March. I want to be fully informed before I go through another surgery.
