Liver Pain
I’ve read that pain is not a common symptom for liver metastasis, but it can happen. For anyone that did discover that cancer spread to their liver and had pain -can you describe it? Is it central to one place, does it tend to move around, is it constant or intermittent, worse with activity or rest? I think I am dealing with a gastro/gallbladder issue but looking for some reassurance that it’s not something worse. Thanks in advance.

I had pain located under my right rib , which felt like a side ache and had referred pain up my shoulder. I thought it was my gall bladder. Pain lasted for several days then went away. The pain came back several weeks later and it ended up being metastatic breast cancer in my liver.

I have extensive liver mets; pain / discomfort, heavy feeling under right side of rib case happen from time to time, but not constant at all.
Also, at the time of diagnosis I have not had any pain; I also thought that I had a gallbladder issue.
If I were in your shoes, I would request a scan to check what is going on; I had abdominal ultrasound, MRI and PET/CT at the time of diagnosis.
Sending you strength!

I've had liver-area pains off and on for years, and never knew why until a CT for something else mentioned I have a fatty liver. If I eat somewhat more healthy for a while, it goes away. When the pain shows up again, i know to cut back on certain foods. You'd really need a scan to find out what is causing your pains since can be caused by different things.
