Small lump by excision biopsy scar

hello all

I received an excision biopsy in 2018 and the result was atypical lobular hyperplasia cells. At the time the breast surgeon wanted me to take tamoxifen, but I declined.

I have been receiving mammograms & a few MRIs at the beginning of surveillance period. Then went to just mammogram/ultrasound. Periodically, I will do self exams between screenings.

My question is, I found a small lump approximately the size of a pea by my excision biopsy scar. I have never felt this before and wondering if it could possibly be a fat necrosis?. However, I thought that would appear much earlier than 6 1/2 years later.

any thoughts or ideas? I would appreciate any information or anyone’s experience that they could share.

Hi @casm, Fat necrosis can appear 5 or more years after surgery. Having a doctor take a look at it would be advisable. Hopefully it will be something inconsequential. All the best.
