Trying to decide if DTI is the way to go

Recently diagnosed with stage 1 ILC. Surgeon says I am a candidate for DTI, direct to implant surgery. anyone have this type of surgery, pros and cons?

    I am unfamiliar with the abbreviation DTI (surprising after 13 years here). Do you mean one step implants, no tissue expanders? Or do you mean tissue expanders inserted immediately inserted after a mx ?

    @exbrnxgrl yes, DTI (direct-to-implant) reconstruction is when implants are placed during mastectomy surgery, and no tissue expanders are used.

    @labender29 Welcome again — have you made a decision on the type of reconstruction surgery you'd like to have? Hopefully others who have been through direct-to-implant reconstruction will weigh in here soon!

    Ah… the common term previously was one step implants. I’ve had mine for 13 years!
