Loosely grouped calcifications wit focal asymmetry

I was diagnosed 20 years ago with stage 1 triple negative. I had a mastectomy with tram recon and four rounds of chemo. All mammograms good till now. This one showed loosely grouped calcifications with focal asymmetry. No speculated masses noted. Just said needs further films and possible ultrasound. I have been back to screening mammograms for several years now. I go Tuesday for the films. I am worried. 😬😞

Hi @labgal, I'm sorry your mammogram triggered additional imaging. There is no way of knowing your status for sure without going through the process of further imaging and a biopsy if warranted. Statistically loosely grouped calcifications are more likely to be benign whereas tightly grouped or linear calcifications are more likely to be malignant. Statistics don't guarantee your result but I hope it's a good prediction for you. All the best.

@maggie15 Thank you. I did research the wording of my report and did see that very thing. It did also say no spiculated mass or distortion was noted. I am hoping they are being cautious due to my history as they should be. I have had calcifications before on mammograms but I believe the issue here for them is the loosely cluster.
