I’m on hospice - anyone else?

I haven't been on BCO for a while, but great sadness has filled my heart reading your posts. As far as the ascites, have you considered getting it drained as a comfort measure? My dad had home hospice do the same and made him so much more comfortable.
So glad your daughter, son in-law and grandson will be spending time with you. I recall they reside a few hours away. I'm sure making these special memories will last a lifetime for them.
Just want to say thank you for being that "person" for me when I needed it struggling with this hideous cancer. Hugs

@kailag so very sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. She meant a lot to so many on this board. She shared her knowledge and experience on here and helped so many of us get through this journey by thoughtfully answering questions. I hope that knowing how much she helped others gives you and your family peace.

@kailag, so sorry to hear Caryn made her transition—but glad she was with loved ones as she passed peacefully. She was a force of nature on these boards (multiple threads). May her memory be for a blessing, as her life surely was.

I had the most wonderful three days with my husband, daughter, son-in-law, and my most precious grandson. Anyone who knows me knows he is so important to me. He finally knows Grandma is going to die. We hadn’t told him because up until the last month or so, I was able to function and still look almost normal, except my stomach at this point. I got to celebrate his birthday three days early. He’ll be six.

I am so sorry to read of the passing of another of our beloved sisters. Kris was a brave soul who freely shared her heart to all of us here. She will be greatly missed. I pray her family will be comforted.

Just so very sorry to hear about Kris being gone. My sincere condolences to all of her family and friends. We shared some very good posts over time and I always looked forward to reading messages from her. Whenever I saw I had a post from Kris, I would get excited before I opened it, knowing it would always be interesting and worthwhile. More recently, we shared some messages about how much she was enjoying her time with her grandson ❤️. Odd, I have actually pretty much avoided this thread over the weeks, but just felt compelled to look at it this morning, and then I saw the beautiful family photo Kris posted earlier this month, only to scroll down to this point and see that she is now gone. I've got tears starting, and I just don't know what else to say at this point, other than that she will be greatly missed by so many of us here.

I'm so saddened to hear of Kris's passing. Her decision to stop all treatment and go on Hospice was so courageous. She was always so helpful and supportive through the years. I didn't see her lovely family photo until this last post. As I don't visit BC.org very much any more my contact with Kris has been private messaging or email. I do hope to attend the next group session to share reflections on Kris. Wendy (WenInWi).

Even though I don’t come on BCO that often KBL was the first person sought out. I’m saddened by her passing, thinking about her grandson and how much she loved him. What a remarkable woman.

Sorry to read that we have lost Kris/KBL, yet another caring and strong sister in this community. She was such a huge part of the caring support around BCO and I loudly echo what others have said about her here. I actually had written about her in my gratitude journal this week, before seeing this notice. Definitely one of the people I most appreciated on this board.
Sincere condolences and gentle hugs to Kris’s family.
