PABL2 gene after having a lumpectomy, Stage 1
I really don't want to do radiology. The risk is 15-20% without radiation the risk with radiation 5% reoccurance. According to my doctor. Since I will still have to do an MRI and mammogram every six months not sure this is necessary. Thoughts?

It is always your choice. As long as you will feel no regrets or remorse regardless of the outcome. Those stats give you historical data but have no predictive value since there is no way to say who those 15-20 % will be. Take care

I had Stage 2, had a lumpectomy, chemo, and radiation. However, that was prior to being diagnosed with the PALB2 gene. I had minimal side effects from radiation although that was just my personal experience, yours could be different. I also took Anastrozole for 10 years. I have remained cancer free for 14 years.
