Wife starting Xeloda

Options

Hi. Hope it’s okay to post as a family member/caregiver. We found out yesterday that there has been new tumor growth in my wife’s bones. Very lucky that mets are confined there. Have been reading about Xeloda side effects and now I’m scared. She’s been on Enhertu for a year and had no side effects so this feels like a disaster. Anyone have a loved one on this med? Or are taking it? I know this is not a lived one’s forum but I was so thrilled to see a safe LGBTQ+ space.

Hi @anninov and welcome to Breastcancer.org!

We're so very sorry to hear of your wife's diagnosis, but we're so glad you've found us. You're sure to find our amazing community a wonderful source of advice, information, encouragement, and support — we're all here for you and your wife!

We're so happy that you've found comfort in our LGBTQ+ forum - we hope others will join you here in welcoming you and sharing experiences. You may also want to join our Caring for Someone With MBC forum to meet others who are in a similar situation. Also, our Xeloda thread in the Stage IV forum has lots of great tips and advice from others taking this medication. Here's also some more info on Xeloda.

For additional support, we offer a bi-weekly MBC Partners Virtual Support Group, where you can talk with others who have a loved one managing MBC. And, for your wife, we offer several weekly MBC Virtual Support Groups with lots of wonderful members always willing to share their experiences and support. We hope you and she join!

    We hope this helps!
