I have not popped in for a while then come in and find your post. If you have a diagnosis and a surgery coming there is a plan by my medical doctor.
What is your fear?
Starting there and sharing your fears or fears takes their power. Put them on this virtual table and let us know. My breast cancer journey was in early July 2021. I had a plan after my diagnosis to get chemo to shrink my tumor. Then IO got a genetic test result that said a Brca2 mutation. My 1st chemo moved one day later and increased from 1 every 3 weeks for 4 times to 12, one per week then the original 4. More happened but i ended up having the surgery in early Feb 2022.
One thing i found interesting was the day of surgery. At City of Hope in Duarte California my surgeon arrived in my room about 30 minutes after i had undressed into my gown and had my vitals done. He needed to draw on my body what he was going to do. Which side was coming off and the whole path.
Are you having a lumpectomy? Whatever you are having done you might put in the subject line above? This is breast cancer.org. There are a whole bunch of us who had surgery and can share.
My surgery was in 2 parts, my other surgeon removed my ovaries and fallopian tubes, then the breast surgeon and the plastic surgeon who drew on my body came in the suite for the breast work. Less anesthesia to do them both.
aurfraaly- please share so we might bring some comfort.

The diagnosis is scary for everyone- especially at first.
As far as remaining positive through this: take care of yourself, do things you enjoy, get out for a walk every day, surround yourself with good people, don’t be afraid to ask for help- people want to help but don’t know what to do. Never be afraid to ask questions to your medical team- knowledge is power. This board is an amazing source of information from people who have been through it. Ask question on here about what to expect, your concerns, etc. this is a very caring community.0 -

Hi sweetie! Oh yes, I do know. I'm a Survivor of 19 years. I am 59 years young. I had your same emotions. Its very normal. Just hang on step by step. Not at the whole picture at once. Keep positive, even though its hard. This is a great site you came to. I started here when I was diagnosed. It gave me a sense of accomplishment to help others dealing with my own diagnosis and emotions. Good Luck sweetie! If you have any questions please feel to ask me! Have a nice night!😉🌺🌴🕊
