My radiation experience was good. They were really good about checking my skin on a regular basis to make sure everything looked good & didn’t get too irritated.
I used calendula cream (purchased on Amazon) and Aquafor on my skin. (I’d put the Aquafor on at night & sleep in an old tee (because it’s like a thick Vaseline) I’d put the calendula on after radiation. One tip I saw on here was to start putting calendula on 1-2 weeks before you start radiation.
another tip - don’t put any type of lotion on your breast a couple hours before radiation. My radiation dr also prescribed Mometesone cream to put on once a day. They had recently started using that for breast radiation & had success with that preventing skin irritation.
Stay well hydrated is also important.
A soft cotton bra or camisoles are also good to have to prevent irritation.Hope these tips help.
