Annual MRI Results - Extramammary findings?

Hello Everyone,

I just turned 40 and alternate MRI and Mammogram/Ultrasound every 6 months due to family history. So far, they have been benign. This one says benign, but mentions "tiny bilateral pleural effusion". When I asked Dr. Google (I know…) about it, I saw both that this can be an indicator of really bad things, but also that this is normal in screening breast MRIs with like 60-84% of women having it and doesn't warrant additional testing. Does anyone know which it is? If my doctor doesn't seem worried tomorrow at my morning appointment, should I not worry either? Or is this something I need to push about?

Thanks!

Hi @roccoriel, pleural effusions may appear on a scan, especially following a recent respiratory infection, or following chest radiation. It's best to ask your medical team directly about this finding, to find out whether there is any reason for concern or further follow-up in your case.
