Aw Hope! I will pray it is just an infection (I assume that's what mrsa stands for?) By Friday there is a VERY good chance that you will be responding to the antibiotics you started today and won't have to miss the trip to ND...

Hope, I am so sorry. Sorry for how much you hurt right now. Our hearts get RIPPED open don't they. When you feel you just CANNOT take anymore... it seems... more is still given.
I pray for you Hope!

Hope4future - Sending tons of hugs and good wishes your way. I SOOO hope that this is just an infection, and that you respond quickly to the antibiotics. I'm so sorry you have to go through this. By saying MRSA in the lymph node, I wonder if he doesn't mean you have a MRSA infection somewhere nearby and the lymph node, which the infection is draining to, is enlarged because its fighting the infection. That's what lymph nodes do. I suspect they want to take it out so they can biopsy it just to make absolutely sure its not something worse, but try not to dwell on that - it seems unlikely if that was your non-BC side to start with. Where are you going in ND? I grew up in Fargo-Moorhead! Best to you...
CoolBreeze - Best wishes to you for your surgery tomorrow. I'm sorry it looks like the reconstruction may not be all you'd hoped for, but hopefully it will turn out better than you expect. I'm confused though...you're saying one will be smaller than the other, and I assume you mean its the recon side that will be smaller than your natural side. Otherwise he could just use a smaller implant to match your natural side. But a few days ago you posted that the PS was also going to put a small implant in your natural side. If the natural side is already going to be bigger, this makes no sense. If that is still the plan I would really encourage you to talk to him once again before the surgery and ask him why the augmentation in your natural side is needed if its already bigger than your recon side will be. (Maybe I'm not understanding, sorry.) All my best to you that you get the best outcome possible, and recover quickly.

Good luck with surgeries this week, Ladies!
Coolbreeze -- I just reread what you wrote and I'm sorry that your PS feels so negative about your prospects. Why did he wait til now to tell you this? Is he still planning to augment your non BC side? (It hardly seems like a good idea if he feels your other side is so limited in it's potential). I hope the results are better than he now expects.

(((((((((((((((COOLBREEZE)))))))))))))))
I feel for your pain right now, and I am sorry.

Coolbreeze: It's disappointing to get that kind of info from your PS the night before your surgery. Give yourself some time to heal and then reassess how you feel about more surgery--you could always get a second opinion too, especially about what type of flap surgeries you are a candidate for. Sending positive thoughts your way for an acceptable outcome and painfree recovery.
Hope4thefuture: I've never had MRSA but the good news is that it is treatable and you can make a complete recovery with antibiotics! The timing sucks--hopefully you will be able to make it to the baptism. We are here for you!((hugs))
Laura: How was your PT?

Judy ~ Grandchildren are the best!! When we meet in Vegas I have about 3 albums of Chloe Rae pictures to share . . . .
Regarding flying ~ I had a note from my Dr. regarding the expanders in case it was needed. Of course I set off the alarms on the way home from San Francisco and was reaching for my note when the inspector asked me about my belt. I responded that I wasn't wearing a belt and he looked at me strangely. I had purchased a belt while there and was wearing it . . . don't wear them often and had totally forgotten about it. Flew a few times with no problems ~ other than my chemo brain.

Well, I so appreciate all you hopes , prayers and thought for me..
I have truckle LE and in my effected arm.. SO.. this was slightly unexpected. But ladies, I KNOW I have been living in denial..
My PT is so great. I met here two yrs ago when I started this BC Journey. I am lucky to have her in KC.
We did an hour of massage... Lymphatic massage that is. She will see me twice a week until about the end of July. She thinks we caught in in time. My left arm was 1 1/2 larger than the other..
Anyway.. she said it is due to total node dissection and RADIATION.
Thank you for continued support. I will TRY to STOP having issues..lol
I am going to post this on two other threads... Thank you for caring so much!

The antibiotic he gave me is Zyvox - I did a search on it and it seems like a lot of people were put on it for mrsa. If anyone can help me with the how they felt on it I would appreciate it. Thank you for the support. I had a good cry and feel better after all your support. I think I can crawl back out of my dark hold now! Thanks again.0

I swear this is the most popular thread on here! I can't keep up so-
Everyone, GOOD LUCK with your surgeries, reconstruction, infections, physical therapy, fills, doctor visits and getting through security with your dignity intact! I hope that soon everyone on here feels happy, healthy and whole.

bcincolorado: Best of luck to you on your surgery and a speedy recovery!
Rebecca: I am beginning to think that y'all are taking youth pills you look so good--no way would I have though you were even old enough to have grown children let alone grandchildren!
Estepp: Sounds like you have a great PT! I hope you have a speedy recovery.
coolbreeze: I am so sorry you got this news the night before your surgery! My first consult with a PS I was told I only had one option plus I needed radiation and would have to wait a year and a half for reconstruction. Sometimes you just need to get a 2nd or 3rd opinion. I am also thin but I kept pushing until I found a dr. who would do what I needed to have done. Don't give up hope yet--you may have to travel in order to find the right dr. but it's worth it Hang in there!.

Facecrafter: A gigantic Mazel Tov!! He will be a joy to you!

Hope4future: I am hoping the antibiotics take care of whatever is going on with you and that it's just a minor infection.
Lilah: You posted pic's! As soon as I figure out how to do it I will post mine too.

MBJ -- I just transferred the pictures from my camera to my laptop, then used my Picture Manager (think it's Microsoft) to save each of them as a small email size photo (to make them small enough to post)... then wrote post, used attach files function at bottom of new post, and posted. Was not hard!

cs777: Thanks for thinking about me. My surgery is 6/17. I am counting the minutes. My TE's are in my armpits tonight and I cannot wait to get of them!!

Judy, Coolbreeze and Hope: Prayers going out for all of you.
Laura: I think you will enjoy the lymphatic massages. I had my appointments with the LE therapist in April of this year. I learned a lot and enjoyed the massages.
Rebecca: You must have been talking about a step-grand-baby? Is it even possible, at your age, to be a biological grandma?

Judy, so sorry about your continuing TE saga. So Happy about your grandson!

coolbreeze~~ im not sure if its the same for you,but i had that little breast tissue naturally, the smallest implant was actually BIGGER than my own breasts!
Lucky i was having a bilateral or i'd have been very lopsided. I hope all goes well.
Val~~ i can see your new boobs from all the way over here in England! wow! Hope mine look that good in 16 days when i jet off in my TE's!

Hope4future - praying for you - hope it's nothing!
Val - I have never been able to fill out a swimsuit - maybe after all this I will be able - like you!!
Hey, did anyone ever have the splish/splash sound from the TEs during an intimate moment? Too funny - my DH and I couldn't stop laughing!!
Hugs to everyone, Valerie

Wow, it's hard to keep up- there is so much going on.
Judy, A great big Mazel Tov!
Laura, healing prayers to you and may God continue to work thru your PT's hands
Hope, As CS said, the lymph node is doing its job by fighting the infection. It sounds like the docs didn't waste time before getting you on zyvox which is good for fighting MRSA. Try to stay away from people with obvious colds or other infections. How do you fel? Have they done cultures?
Lilah, your pics look amazing and the swelling will get better every day
Cool- I've learned that being thin is not always a blessing and I'm sorry that your BS waited till now to spring this on you. Good luck with your surgery.
Jerusha, only a few more days of footballs under your armpits, hang in there.. Soon you will have amazing yippee squishees.
Val, while the pic is tiny and my eyes are squinting; I CAN still see a lot of beaudacious ta-ta- ness

Jerusha -- what implant are you going with (after all the discussion)?
Ladies -- if you want your surgery to go on the list in the header... you have to PM MyKidsMom!
Waldo -- thanks so much! I must say I feel better about the whole thing having posted pics... which I was reluctant to do due to the swelling and bruising. Hey at least the implant looks fabulous lol.

I'm still about 3 weeks out from surgery and I'm having bizarre exchange dreams every night! Did anyone else go through this right before exchange? I haven't been this sleep deprived since I brought my son home from the hospital! :- O0
-
Congratulations Judy, blessing on your grandson! and I hope this is your last merry-go-round ride with your TE...crossing fingers and saying prayers.
Lilah....brave you
I'll go look to see how your doing
Hope, I hope your infection responds easily and quickly to the antibiotic. MRSA is such a problem in hospitals these days

Wishing Cool and Jerusha all the best....happy transitions and healing.
I had a great appointment with my ps yesterday. It was my 6 week follow-up after my exchange. He wants to talk about nips in the next 6 week appt. I'm in no hurry....don't want to deal with nips until it's fall clothing season
He only does nips in the OR if there are implants involved...he wants a sterile field. He says TE's are briefly exposed during nip recon (yikes), and infection can complicate the whole TE, so and he takes no chances....hmmmmm.... He says if I need any fat grafting we will also review that in time.
I was glad to know it's an option if I need it.Strength and healing,
Laura2

I need your advice ladies. I finally got my date for Exchange (Sept 8th). Not a moment too soon as the TE's were placed Dec 4th. Just my luck that my PS was pregnant and went on mat leave. Didn't want to switch to someone else. Anyway Sept 8 is exchange and I am being pushed back to work Sept 2. What can I expect for exchange. I have two TE's and one was a LD due to radiation. They are not level at the moment which will have to be fixed. How long should I expect to be off and what level of discomfort will there be? Any thoughts and guidance would be appreciated.

JUDY...
Kid, I just read you are causing more trouble in your local hospital there... STOP IT!
Wonderful news on a new life in your family !!!
It is reassurance for me....... life does indeed, go on!
Happy Happy for you... I just am!

Valerie~~ its funny you should mention sloshing around from the TE's!!
I saw one of my girlfriends last night, and thats something she asked me!! I have never heard the saline sloshing no matter what i've been doing (maybe i havn't been putting enough effort in
) and i thought she was messing about when she asked me! LOL I never even considered they might do that! How funny would that be??? My hub would laugh his head off! My tummy has sloshed about before, but never my foobs!!
0 -
My TEs never sloshed either... mine felt more like a well-filled tennis ball than a water balloon

Jain, what is a LD? I'm sorry they are pushing you to come back to work so soon, The nurse at the PS told me you need a long weekend to recover. I had my exchange on Thursday (5 days ago) and if I had to and had no choice- I would have been able to go back to work [ at a sedentary desk job] yesterday. That said, I feel a lot spunkier today and its been 5 days
Lilah, I found it very liberating as well to post the pics too. I think the kind and gentle responses have been very helpful in me accepting my new body.
If DH tells me one more time that these new ones (@-@) are better than the originals- which he first said during the TE phase even before I had the exchange.
OK, I know he is accurate. aesthetically to say it, and I know he is trying to be supportive, but I asked him to please never say that to me again, I found it so hurtful. What they lacked in aethetic perfection, they more than made up for in sensuality.

At first my TE's felt like I had 2 waterbeds sloshing around in my chest and then I got used to them
