Good morning, Loungettes! I had such a good day with Bookart yesterday! We wandered all over Rockland, had steamers and lobstah for lunch, got to see Jaime Wyeth up close as he was getting ready for a book signing at the museum we were wandering through. And we yakked and yakked and yakked. Would you believe neither one of us thought to get a picture?? ? I know I slept hard last night, and am still a bit stiff from all the walking.

Orange--When you consider that most 100 year olds are not walking at all, walking like one that is isn't all that bad! Nothing wrong with a hydro land vacation, after surgery you deserve one!

Goldie--OK, I've done my share of ocean swimming, but THAT swimming hole looks a bit chilly to me! Unless the water is warmer than the air? No, can't be that, don't see any sea fog. One thing I wish we had gotten pictures of was the 2 of us trying out motor scooters. Bookart (Elaine) did great, I almost killed myself, and that was just in the parking lot! It has been a VERY long time since I rode a bike, apparently. The owner of the rental place was great, though, and very funny. It was his idea to try them out before deciding if we would rent a couple.

Mema--Don't be too hard on your MO--you CAN'T get the shingles vaccine while you are getting chemo, and for at least 3 months after wards. But he should have at least talked about it and made plans for after chemo, unless he leaves that to your PCP. It's scary how much the oncs depend on the PCPs to manage, and how often the PCPs don't have a clue. You'd think they'd talk to each other at least once during all the time we're in treatment!

Juliet--HOORAY for 6 monthly visits! And for naps!

Undy--I hear the UFO landing on the roof, gonna run up and jump and and be with you during surgery!

Wahine--frozen watermelon is good with LOTS of likker! If only you could ship some magos and papayas back here. I remember having some for breakfast one morning in Hawaii, the ones in the store here don't have anywhere near the same taste.

Beanie--thanks for the good wishes. I got a call yesterday from the local office, need to call them back this am and set up an interview. I'm already turning over a bunch of questions I want to ask. So far I haven't said a word to any one at the current job, going to try to keep it that way until I decide one way or the other. I'm scared to use a chain saw, too, but then I was afraid to use a power saw until I did it. Now I'm a fan of power tools--great equalizers! But I'm still leery of chain saws. . .

Wahine--Don't worry about venting here, you know better! Moving is hard enough without monkey wrenches thrown into the mix. Of course it makes you want to cry! Did you know that tears cried due to stress are chemically different from tears of joy? Stress tears actually have high levels of stress hormones, it's one of the ways the body gets rid of them. So stress crying is physiologically a good thing! So cry away! Glad the step-bro got the situation worked out, sort of, and have a big dwinky on me this Pau Hana to help settle your nerves!

Princess Glitter Sizzle's DOTD is the Jokester
1 oz Midori Melon Liqueur
1 oz Vodka
1 oz Watermelon Schnapps
1/2 oz Grenadine
1 oz Sweet and Sour Mix

Directions
Pour grenadine into a margarita or cocktail glass. Place some ice cubes in a cocktail shaker, and add the vodka, watermelon schnapps, Midori melon liqueur and sour mix to the shaker. Shake well, pour into the margarita / cocktail glass, and serve.

That is where DH and I went, stayed at The Hilton Waikoloa, and then got married on Kauai. The people on both islands were SOOOO friendly.
