Lori, your hip will be sore and bruised, but that's all. Won't keep u from doing the deed, however, don't do any major exercising for about 5 days, like running or the elliptical. Working your glutes too hard can push them out, u don't want that. Of course, my blood counts were low, so probably had something to do with slow healing. I'm so fercited for you!! Woo Hoo!
And Undy, hope you are healing well. We need to have a party tomorrow to celebrate your bday, and to celebrate Lori getting her pellets, and then we will have to get ready for Cyndielouwho's surgery, too. Geesh, best start dwinking now! Lara, the limited arm movement sucks. Do they have you walking your fingers up the wall a little higher each day? I wore a lot of things that zipped up the front there for awhile. Ok ladies Ive had only one PT apt. I know I had the tissue expanders out and My PT was on vacation and they told me I couldnt see another one. Then my other tissue expander came out.It sbad I am doing the walking the wall stuff. My arms do feel better w/out those stupid things.My PS was away and they were letting me have holes in the incision line until I finally screamed I am not leaving the office until u take this TE out now.. They did. Then PS came back took the other one out. This is why I have had no PT.

Checking in with my girls- no energy do address everyone individually. Something is making me so tired all day long. We don't know if the bleeding stopped but we know it's not trickling out where we can see it anymore. They wrapped and unwrapped me so many times in the er. I'm like a mummy right now. I saw my little mounds and I'm very happy. I'm barely filled and already they look so good. I do have the jp drains but they're better than last time. And I'm being a good girl and taking my pain pill. Half a norco really helps me to cough and not feel the pain as much. I really feel pain when I stand up and all the pressure goes right to the front. Tomorrow I go for my appointment with the PS. Then my siblings are taking me out to do something for my birthday. If I don't check in for a couple of days it's just because I'm really tired. Don't worry Dork I'm not disappearing. Talk to you girls later,have some drinks for me. Cheers.

Taking advantage of my now woik sched from now till Aug....not at sleep yet. glad to See Undie and Orange in da house .... our two with recent soigery...gibes me hope....I was reading some of the pre op literature and it scares me in a way that it brings back some memories from my botched up soigery from long ago and It made me cry for a minute....People have this done every day ...why should I be crapping my pants about it? ugghh....I'll save the crapping for tomorrow.....DorK....I wish I could enjoy our storm with ya...I actually love a good storm..especially inside nice and safe..the power of nature amaizes me sometimes. I want to apologize now for not posting much the next few days..

Den de secret service is all ober de pwace. BUT you were right about the Big Island (you and Cyn)....it is the Island of Hawaii. Now they seem to want to say "Hawaii Island" when mentioning the Big Island. We fly there on Tues. Geex, its almost 10 pm here, so 4 am for Dorkie, and is it 1 am for you?

Cyn, Yes, Molokai still has the leper settlement (Kalaupapa), which is by the sea, but there are steep mountains inland, so it is hard to get to. You need to have a guide, and can either fly in and meet your guide, or drive up to the upper area, and take donkeys down a switch-back trail, with guides. My dad took us there a couple of yrs ago, I had never been before. My gma that I never met, got leprosy teaching hawaiian kindergarteners many many yrs ago. She was sent there, and taught art classes there, but was taken from her family. EVen when they discovered the sulfa drugs, and she was able to return to Honolulu, she still could only see her family across a wall, when they visited. So she never got to hold my brother when he was born, who was her first grandchild. They call it Hansen's Disease now. So sad.
Well girls, the Hula Luau today was AWESOME! We were there 5 hrs, and it was still going on when we left. Prolly about 80+ dancers there. The imu was uncovered after we got there, and all the local Hawaiian food was sooooo ono! At the neighbors, and there were high "Kumus" there. Very traditional, and stuck to the ancient ways of doing things. The girl of honor DID graduate to the next level. Before the luau today, they had a sacred ceremony at the heaiu (ancient healing place) right before midnight Fri nite, with only close family members, and the Kumus. You can only be invited by a kumu to continue with your hula training. The program alone was several pages long! We were invited as they consider us part of their Ohana (family) since they have known my dad for many, many yrs.
Been toooooo bizzy working on sorting things and getting things ready for the movers to pack. My mom fell again this evening, flat on her back and head, on the hard, wood floor. She says she is ok. She just gets in a big hurry (like me), and of course is tired and stressed, so is not looking where she is going. I told her pretty soon all the black bruises on her legs are going to be joined. But OMG it really scared the chit outta me when I heard her, and then saw her on the floor.

Good Morning, Loungettes! Holy cow, but I thought it was a full moon week end! Talk about nuts! I took 4 referrals over the weekend, on top of the 6 admissions already scheduled. One hospice patient died Sunday morning. I ran my butt off trying to get as much done as I could and minimize the amount of work I had to leave for today. Today is the first day of training on the new computer system, so half the staff are off the road all week. I expect to be able to hear the screaming starting around 8 am. . . Got an interview at 1 pm. The guy that's going to fix the deck left a message yesterday, had a scheduling glitch, going to start on my deck tomorrow instead of today, which is ok with me 'cause it gives me time to get the stuff cleaned off the deck without having to rush. It's still too hot to rush even though it's better than the last couple days. Sadie is definitely loving the wading pool.
Got to take her swimming soon. Got to take ME swimming soon! Maybe after the interview this afternoon. . .
Goldie--we only tried out the scooters. Bookart was great on one, I would have killed myself!
DorKable--maybe I should try the scooter again, WITH a dwink this time! I'd probably do better. It's obviously been a LONG time since I rode a bike! Speaking of the cancer card, I thought long and hard and then checked the "do you have a disability as defined by the ADA?" "yes". I don't consider myself disabled, but I'm not above taking advantage of any edge I can get!

Undy--of course you feel tired! You've had lots of exotic substances pumped through your veins, and had your insides rearranged. That makes for tired! Enjoy the birthday excursion, check in when you feel up to it!
CynCyn--yes, people have surgery every day. But YOU only have surgery once in a while, and of course reading about all the potential complications is frightening! Having a bad experience in the history only makes it more real to you that things can go wrong and adds to the fear. Crying is a normal response, go for it. Work hard, keep yourself distracted, come drink regularly and you will be fine.
Wahine--Your poor Mom! I know how easy it is to get busy but she really needs to slow down! Yes, I know just exactly how much good telling her that will do, which is none whatsoever.
