Morning, Loungettes! Not a particularly good one as Sadie cornered a skunk last night. In the middle of the night, in the pouring rain. She stinks. The corner of the house stinks. She had to be quarantined to her crate last night, and then howled when I went back to bed so I had to sleep in the recliner in the living room. Got to get some tomato juice on the way home from work tonite, for sure!Hmmm, I wonder if a shot of Febreeze would do any good????

Goldie--yup, 1 hour 15 minutes of hitting the snooze button every 5-10 minutes. Pathetic, huh? Love the Blackberry Sage Cooler dwinky!

    Cammy--you definitely fit here!

CynCyn--it's such a short trip to drive me nuts that I didn't even notice! Getting up in the ayem is not one of my strengths. And the POOP thing is done in the doggy park, where there is someone assign to doggy doodie duty all the time!

    BBBBernie--LOL!!!

Chrissy--Damn, the ba$tard got another one. RIP, Marybe.

Princess Glitter Sizzle's DOTD is the Skunky Dog

Shannon, I'll do my best. I have that trip to MI, then another the end of Oct to TN.

Chrissy, I happened upon the thread that Marybe had started and then saw she was in the hospital, then hospice and then Heaven. I was shocked at how fast it all transpired. I'm pretty sure she was a good friend of Junies and came here to post when Junie passed. I think she is the one that told us how Junie would say, to go outside when there is a full moon, with a huge purse, open it up, hold it up to the sky and say "filler up". I am very sorry to hear this news. And you my friend, your heart must be so heavy, as that is 2 friends now that you have lost in such a short time. Sending prayers and healing thoughts to her family and friends, as well as you Chrissy.

Oh dear NM, I think that happens to everyone at some time or another, dogs/skunks! I hope you smell ok! And the Febreeze surely couldn't hurt. I did find this article from someone that said their dog still stunk after the tomato bath.

    1 Qt 3% hydrogen peroxide
    1/4 cup baking soda
    1 tsp. liquid soap

All you need to do is wet down the dog with a hose, mix the ingredients together in a container, and then slowly pour the mixture over the dog while rubbing it into the fur. After the dog has been bathed in this solution rinse it down with the hose and the dog will be odor free. My dog weighed 90 lbs so I doubled the amounts shown above, but if you have a small to medium size animal, the recipe listed should do just fine. Link for the article. http://briansplace.ynt1.com/skunk.php

Gosh, I think Sadie stunk up The HTL. Where is everyone? Think I'll take me some Skunky Dogs and have Rex pull me around on a floatie in the pewl. REX???

Oops, we bumped Lara. Indeed, you have us. That incident would scare the crap out of anyone! So was it because you over did it with the exercise? I hope the bleeding has subsided. Where was your trip to? You may have a Tender of your choice today, to pamper you all day long and be there for your every need.....

Well shoot, seems I missed one of your posts Julie. That is so scary when there are so many in one family that are diagnosed with the FRB. I have never gotten a flu shot, so I will continue to pass on that. Glad you found the yummy fish to enjoy with your summer cider.

I was going to Ketchup.  NOT!  Am heartsick.  (((Chrissy)))  Marybe is now with our other Angels, Junie, Reesie, China (and many others) and I choose to picture them toasting a brew, or DOTD, or glass of wine.  I will be later...!

I just eant to say about Marybe--I don't understand what happened--she was telling us her plans for chemo and painted her fathers' porch  all kind of stuff working too and that was not even 2 weeks ago--she was planning her chemo then bam she was in hospice and passed away within a day. How does that happen so fast. She was so nice---cancer sucks big time.

    Hi bwest fwends!

I tink I missed a whole day in the lounge and can't let that happen again. I am so very sad over the news of Marybe. I know she and Chrissy were very close and it just breaks my heart. I have seen many of her posts in the past and she was always so giving and such a sweet lady. It is nice to see the kinds words and photos you have all posted in her memory.

Cyn, hope you are having a better day today.  I will pray that your vision only gets better. Mine has deterioted in a big way but it started long before bc. when I started my current job 11 years ago, I had perfect vision. My eye doc thinks alot of it has to do with muscle attenuation from high blood pressure. It just sucks getting old and I really feel for you with the diabetes making it so bad. I personally did not notice a change in vision with the tamox and hope your only gets better.

Lara, yikes, how terrible that you were bleeding so much. I have to check with our resident nurse, our darling NM to find out if it is alright to have that happen. It does not sound right to me. I am sorry you are having so much pain, I will pray for you to feel better, dollling.

Cammi, loved your photo with the little boy telling grandma how to surf the net, priceless. I am so happy you are hanging out and dwinking with us, you are a great addition to the lounge. And glad you got to see LOri's video, it is always fun to see it again and again.

NM, sorry about your Sadie getting skunked, sure hope you find a way to make her smell pretty again.

Juliet, thanks for the fart pics, always a great laugh, you know how I feel about farts, they jest funny as can be. Did I ever tell you that when I need to rip one, I pull my own finger. of course when at work or in public, I do it privately when I tink no one is looking or listening but just have to pull my finger to let it go hehehe.

Mema, glad to see you stop in de lounge, hope you are having some well deserved r+r. Any news on your darling Jennifer? I miss you in the lounge, I miss everyone, just been too busy doing the W ting. Hope you will join me for some tequilla, I in a mood to tie one on (again).

Lori, loved that pic of the shoulder to cry on. I have seen that before, I think NM posted it. I remember because I hocked it and sent it to my sister. We have a private joke about a girl with no shoulders and she loved the pic. It made me laugh again too, thanks.

Missing my Allie berry much, I gonna call her name real loud and have her paged. She needs to git her purdy ass in de lounge and dwink with me.

Hiya Unde, you dwinking tonight? De tenders are making spayshall dwinks jest for you, stop back in. Always nice to see you.

Chrissy B, this time last year, as you know, we were chilling out together. I would give my left arm to be with you now, I really would. Again, I am sorry that you lost such a dear friend. And if I may say this, please allow me to say a bad word or two....FUK U RB, FU and yer mother too!

I always wonder how our MIA goils are doing. Has anyone heard from Krissy ( i tink that was her name). she played piano and was a teacher I believe. Garsh, hope when goils go MIA. I am also thinking about our Katwinka and hopnig she is having lots of R+R, she deserves it.

to anyone I missed, berry sorry.  I have to log in and work a few hours again, my days are flying by too fast at the office and I just can't catch up. I could not let the day go by without talking to my bwesties, you goils are de best of de breast hehe!! Wishing you all peace and love. And how about a toast to MaryBe? Still can't believe that she is gone. May she rest easy, and prayers to her family here at BCO and her real family too. So berry berry sad. It jest makes me appreciate being alive today.....Cheers ladies, love you all so much! (some more than others heheheheh, could not resist)!!!!

Camille in Marybes case, her kidneys shut down and she went into heart failure due to the toxicity of the all the chemos. In a lot of cases, it's not the cancer that does the damage but the treatments we do in order to control the beast. That is why it is so important to make sure we live life to the fullest and appreciate each and every day.

    Love n hugs. Chrissy

Chrissy Thank u for answering me--I really don't get this--it was just so fast. I just started seeing a cardiologist and I;m taking more meds for my one kidney---and the worst thing is this guy is not only like Doogie Houser's little brother but he has no sense of humor--I have to break him in and I'm tired of breaking in new Drs.

This is so sad Chrissy---damn Cancer sucks.

Good morning, Loungettes! The Sadie pup is now sweet smelling and out of quarantine. When I got home yesterday I expected to smell some really horrible smell, but it wasn't bad. Now I'm not really sure it was a skunk that Sadie cornered, or maybe it was a very young one who hasn't developed the full stinkiness yet. Anyway, Sadie is now soft and sweet, thanks to a peroxide/baking soda bath.

ORLA--umm, bleeding and such like that is NOT normal! Your PS needs to see your non-boob, not just manage things over the phone. While you may be overdoing things some and that may be all it is, he really should be looking at what is going on and giving you specific limits of activity and prescribed exercises. I know what it's like to see bleeding and freak out. I did the same thing after recon when the belly incision started opening up and bleeding. And I was warned ahead of time to expect that!

Goldie--That's the exact same recipe I got from 2 people at work! It worked like a charm, too! I mixed up 2 batches just to be sure I got all of her soaked down good. I didn't want to do the tomato bath thing since Sadie is a yellow lab and I didn't want to deal with a pink punk looking lab while the redness wore off. I'm going to use the same mix in the washing machine on her bedding, too. I just noticed that smells a bit.

Cammy--yup, cancer sucks, out loud. It really is frightening how fast someone's condition can change sometimes.

DorKable--Sadie is deskunked and out of the dog house, thanks! Sounds like you're a busy bee lately--what do you do for work again? I know you've said before , but have trouble memberin lately.

Chrissy--so true about the effects of the treatment we go through to fight the rat ba$tard. That's why I say I'm a bc TREATMENT survivor, 'cause that's what it really is. And breaking in new docs is a royal pain in the anatomy.

Princess Glitter Sizzle's DOTD is the Un-Sadder
    1 part Citrus Vodka
    4 tsp Sugar
    2 parts Fruit Juice
    2 oz Strawberries

    Directions
Fill one-quarter of a blender (half-filled with ice) with vodka. Almost fill completely with pine-orange-banana fruit juice. Add fresh strawberries and sugar, blend, and pour into glasses. Serve with an orange slice.

(((((Sue))))) discovered that Marybe was a friend of yours too. Gosh, I just hate when we lose girls and it has to be so hard for those of you in the stage IV groups, as you are all so close. Cami, were you a friend of Marybe's?

Cami/Lara, glad you liked the video. At least now you have a better prospective on The HTL.

Cami, you not old. And I see that you WERE a friend of Marybe's too, so mese has a hug foy you too (((((Cami))))). Indeed, it was incredibly fast. But you know, that's better than suffering for a long time. That new doc you are seeing, if you don't like him, get a new one!

DorK, you are DorK! Pulling your own finger, I can see you doing that! LOL, I don't remember that picture being posted before (imagine that), but that's ok, we post lots of chit on here, so things are bound to be repeated and besides, it made you laugh again!

CyndieLouWhoIsFeelingBetterToday, I so glad. Please be careful with the move, and YES let those boys do the grunt work.

Ohhhhh, look at dat coot little baby. They DO get that look when they are scared.

Ok, I have to share......My brother went yesterday to a baseball game in Detroit at Comerica Park. Well, they were having a "Pink Out The Park" fundraiser.

My handsome brother on the left, who btw is turning 50 today!

Ok, what shall we have for our DOTD on dis Thirsty Thursday.............

I know, Kathy will be home today, so I found this

    The Welcome Home Toast

    Wild Turkey 81 Bourbon

    3/4 oz. Wild Turkey 81
3/4 oz. Domaine de Canton Ginger Liqueur
    Dash Regan's Orange Bitters
    Twist Orange
American Sparkling Wine (Like Korbel or your favorite)

In Champagne Flute, add Bourbon, Domain de Canton, Orange Bitters. Add Sparkling Wine slowly. Express orange twist. Enjoy.

Oh these are good today ladies=and I love to see family pictures

I never met Marybe but we'd chat over this board and she was so giving and nice-just really nice--and I was shocked how quickly this happened. I know so many have passed, but I didn't know them really like Marybe She was always so up and kind to everyone. And of course it hits home---u know my sister is also stage IV too. She's doing well and still working at ae 73--she sure doesn't look it I'm a little younger and I look older than her the Bi*ch LOL--we're very close in our hearts and distance  Sorry I'm getting soapy (my Mom used to say I'm the dramatic one out of 4)and the silliest. She said that not me.
