Yikes Ruth that window washing sounds dangerous and everyone's wearing jackets there and someone has turned the furnace on here, it is hot hot hot I am sitting with a fan blowing on me trying to cool downBawling.  Beth I agree on the music or do you listen to Books on Tape, you can go for hours listening to a good book. Good to see you up and moving Teacher but take it easy.

Totally forgot to check in yesterday but did 30 minutes of an RPM class then our Jam teacher was out so we had a sub who didn't know Jam but it she did Sh'bam so it was fun., then tonight did a Spin class.

I read or watch movies. Action movies are best because I move faster!

Oooo, oooo, Ruth - will you come and do my windows next????  Happy Patoo - if you watch Jeopardy, do you watch Wheel of Fortune too?  I couldn't believe that guy got the final puzzle last night with only two letters showing!  If anyone didn't see it, this was the puzzle:  NE_    _ _ _ _    _ _ _ _ _.  He got it!  Give up?  The answer was "NEW BABY BUGGY".  The contestant was as shocked as everyone else that he solved it!

This running clinic is really pushing me, which is annoying but is a good thing.  Normally I'll do a 2 mile run before work on Thursdays, but noooooo, today's schedule called for a 3 mile run.  In the heat.  And the humidity.  75 degrees and humid as heck at 6am!! But I did it.  One nice thing that helped me get through mile 2 - a mom deer and two fawns ran with me for a bit - they were in a yard ahead of me, and when they saw me coming, they just loped to the next yard.  When I caught up to them they loped to the next yard.  We did that for about a dozen houses till they finally took off for good.  So cute!!

And yep, I had music going the whole way.  I always start out with the theme from Rocky - it somehow sets the tone right from the get go.

It was a lovely day today but actually a little cool once the sun went down.  I heard the voices so I started out to walk and it immediately starting sprinkling.  We got almost two days without rain.  So only a 15 minute walk tonight but then I did my 7 minute workout and stretches.

Cheryl feeling this cool weather reminds me that fall and winter are coming so I almost want some of your heat!

Running clinic - I feel like when I run I need a clinic but I do hope to get there one day.  Not that I want to run as my main exercise but just to see that I can do it occasionally.

Congrats, Teacher on your one hour ride.  That's an accomplishment.

Forgot to post my exercise yesterday - about 50 minutes pushing a lawnmower and emptying the bagger, a 20 minute walk to the hardware store and back, plus final prep for yardsale.

Today: On my feet a lot during the yard sale and just got back from about a 45 minute walk with DD, her boyfriend and one of DD's old friends from daycare, elementary, jr high and high school who is in town and stopped for a visit.

30 mins again on treatmill, after Jeopardy this time because I did errands after work.  Nats, no I usually turn off after Jeopardy, for some reason just not into Wheel of Fortune.  But since I was late tonight I did watch.  It's been humid so haven't walked outside like I used to but when I do go outside I put on my music and it does make you walk longer because your focus is not on the walk but on your music.  I've gotten lost in my own neighborhood from taking turns and not realizing which way back home is!

Ruth, going to mimic you this weekend and wash patio doors and windows.  Luckily they swing in so I don't have to risk life and limb hanging out.

    Night sculpted friends.

Congrats on the ride, Teacher. Sweet, hope your yard sale was a huge success. Mary, your running group trsining sounds interesting.

I am definitely one of those people who needs music to walk/run to.

Exercise today was bootcamp. Sweet dreams my sculpted sisters....

Today was my livestrong training class. I worked on the nustep machine 10 min, the bike 5 min. the threadmill 5 min. and did 20 revs on the leg curl and stretches. I am feeling a little sad though because they cancelled my PET scan scheduled for tomorrow because Medicaid won't pay for it, sigh, I called and left a message with my onc. to see what we're going to do.

Bummer! I hope they can make Medicaid come around, Aurora.

Teacher and Mary, way to get out of your comfort zone!

Had a nice ride in gorgeous weather plus a walk with DD. Today I need to do some weights and get started on some yoga.

Aurora, I hope the PET scan issue can be resolved soon. Try not to get too down over it.  Good that you are moving forward from revision surgery Teacher and Mary, I had to reread the running up to the front with answer - to understand and it's not you or the way you wrote it out, LOL.

Power double step and afterwards, body balance at the gym this morning.

Oh Auroaya I hope they can resolve the problem and you can get your scan, good job on your program. Ruth the only time I ever wash windows is a) when I have visitors coming or b) when I can't see out of them Winking Hope the garage sale went well Sweet, isn't it fun to see the kids who you've known since they were little grow up and come into your life as adults. Mary loved the fact that you got to run with the wildlife even if they didn't know they were your running buddies.  I agree about pushing yourself out of your comfort zone, I did that the last two nights at Spin. Our regular instructors are away on the east coast competing in a body building competition so we had a sub and he was amazing, came out of the class on Wednesday absolutely dripping in liquid awesome and decided to forgo dance last night and went back and did it again, he invited the class over to the other location where he conducts a Bootcamp but it's at 10.30am so not doable for me.

today I'm back in compression and it helped. I am almost back to under 1 hour for 5K. That may not seem like much but I'm 4'10" and I chug along. I will be there soon.

Aurora, good workout there.  Don't you just hate insurance issues.  We have stress enough, thank you very much!

Half day of work today! Woo-hoo!  So the second I got out I went to exercise.   I tried round 1 of couch to 5K today.  You do the intervals for 20 minutes.  Well I didn't exactly make 20 minutes of the intervals but stopped after a run at 17 and then walked for 20 more minutes.  So 37 minutes all together.  Then I can home and walked my dog for 14 minutes and pulled some weeds in my hedge for a few minutes.  Now I'm going to take a much-needed shower and make a grocery run.

Do windows need washing?  See if you don't know that's a chore then you don't have to do that!

I am working from home today and trying to get motivated for a run. Just spent 2 hours researching something that can't be done on Facebook w/o using code. Talk about frustration!

Relatively little exercise the past 2 days, but the photo shoot in Portland went well. Nice to have it cooler.  Back on the bicycle this weekend, but solo since my new "interest" is out doing a wilderness event with a buddy of his. But next weekend will be a different story Happy Need a catch up period anyway.

I think I will opt for an early run while cool, but not raining. - Claire

(New picture is post photo shoot with the nonprofit CEO when we took in a wine bar prior to driving back to Seattle.)

Teacher, I am similar size and pace. May not be the fastest but eventually get there...

Auroaya, I hope you get those insurance issues resolved quickly. How annoying!

Rest day today for me. Guess I best rest up as I have been talked into the Dulles Plane Pull later this month. Will save my next formal 5k for a local color run opportunity.

Aurora, ditto, hope you get it fixed with Medicaid.  My son is on Medicaid and it can be a hassle.

Fitbit shows a little over 6300 steps today but no formal exercise.  Sweet, I only power washed small back patio and front steps which took about an hour.  Don't know how you did so much over several days.  My back is not happy!!

Tomorrow will wash windows and patio doors and probably take a nice walk to relax.

    Night my sculpted friends.

I had an extremely funny revelation while running this evening. Same objective: go wine tasting plus dinner at some nice place.

One couple goes out and cycles 30 miles, and then showers prior to joining the festivities. The other couple takes a boat there. They drink the same amount of wine and eat roughly the same amount of food. Guess the relative size of each couple??

I broke down and got sea scallops for dinner. Will make my friend Sarah's husband Jorge's scallops with arugula, sherry, and hazelnut salad recipe for dinner. Two many meals in a row of less healthy items. Jorge is Spanish in case the sherry wasn't a tip off. I have made this before and an amazing recipe.

Still need to do weights..... - Claire

    Very cute picture, Claire!

Crap, I ate a chocolate chip cookie at the football game & therefore went over my allotted calories on loseit.com by 54 calories (the loseit people don't care that it was a band fund raiser cookie!)......so now I either have to go down & walk briskly on the treadmill for 15 minutes or be in the 'red zone'.....Shocked

edited to add that I did the 15 minutes.....

patoo - I may have to rethink the hours on end of power-washing next year.  I think I'm figuring out today all those hours of constant vibration of the power washer wand has resulted in carpal tunnel syndrome in my right hand/wrist Scared.  Lots of tingling and uncomfortable numbness has developed the past couple of weeks, especially at night even with 10mg Ambien and 6mg melatonin.  All I need is one more cause for insomnia......not!! I'll be calling my PCP on Tuesday.  Didn't have any trouble with my back though - hope yours is feeling better!

Sweet, my back will be better once it gets over the washing of windows and patio door this morning. They were so dirty.  Now I can see out of them without squinting.   Hope you feel better soon.

Can't decide whether to just go for a nice walk or a massage.  Hmmmmm, maybe both?  Sounds like a plan.  Later friends.

Gorgeous windy day today making it more pleasant than the rain and/or humidity cycle we've been in.  Since I did some running yesterday I decided to just walk today.  One day, Lilac maybe I'll be able to do those 8 and 10Ks.  I walked 45 minutes at the lake today and came home and walked the dog 15.

Claire sounds like you had a delicious dinner planned.  I love scallops, lobster, crab, shrimp - all that expensive stuff!

Ruth, so what's your verdict?  Was it worth it to eat the cookie and have to do the exercise?  I say probably yes!

Sweet I have trigger thumb and I find a heating pad wrapped around it for a few minutes when I go to bed really helps relieve the pain and helps me sleep.

Patoo walk and a massage sounds like a plan.
