Okay Sass.... I GOT it!  It is a form of Eczema?  Now this is what my Grandma would do.... You probably won't do it, but all of us kids survived all of her concoctions to "fix" us.  Just get some cotton, and put Turpentine on it.... rub THAT wherever you are having problems!

I'm probably just kidding, but I have had so many skin problems, and they were either from something I was getting into, or taking!   Like some Vitamins....or meds.

Have they asked you if you are using any kind of different body wash?   Or have you been to the Allergist yet?  Or the Dermatologist?

And speaking of shoes, for Chevy, my new pole shoes! Finally wet and cool enough to try out. How sexy are these!!  Loopy

I found two small rugs for the doors. Hope I can find a bigger one that goes well and doesn't cost me an arm!  Its not slippery, I think. Always wear shoes now so can't tell.  DH still working on baseboards. Its also laminate.

OMD, Smarrty, can I rent you. The whole job done in a couple three days! What is the name of those shoes? They were Lands Ends classic--Duckies? Wrong something else....

Chevy, Lovey, I have the dx, I have the treatment. I have to be true to the treatment----STEROIDS. I'm being diligent to the treatment b/c I've read on boards that women have had the problems for decades. Since my scenario onset was related to thyroid ---severe hypothyroidism---my hope is getting the thyroid hormone level settled. It will settle down the skin issue. RAI-131 set off the ist scenario--i.e radioactive material right on my lady parts. I was doing quite well until something set off a second problem a few weeks ago. Not sure what? Obviously, I would avoid that again?  Turpemtine LOL I know. OMD, turpentine would put me on the moon. Might put turpentine on the skin LOL, but near the mucus membranes of the vagina........OMD.

Let's just say a few things, sex hasn't been on the agenda except with some relapses that caused it to get worse. So until there is ABSOLUTELY no problem, sex is Not on the agenda. It's nice that sex is not on the agenda while I'm deciding if DBF is off the agenda. The first scenario after RAI, sex wasn't an issue, as I was still glowing and it was very limited. DBF understood it could affect his member. That was all I needed to say and I got full cooperation.

Chevy on Ebola---they are specifically saying in Africa That your favorite shoe Wellie's-- Wellingtons? Are the shoe of choice. The showed a pic how the Wellies and the old Latex heavy duty gloves are disinfected and placed on sticks upside down to dry in the sun. I'll try and find the picture :)

I have Wellies, but my favorite shoes are Crocs!  I love the fleece lined ones, and the wedgie's...  I like them because I don't have to tie them.... just slip them on.

Smarty..... I love the throw-rugs.... and they look like they are made for the doors!   I mean with the rubberized backings.    Those shoes look comfortable!  Shoes are either comfortable, or darling!  Most of mine are comfortable..... except for my dancin' shoes.... my imaginary dancin' shoes...Loopy

Sas, a pi$$ed dog will still wag a tail. It's the rest of the body language you have to understand.  Flattened ears, hackles up, lip licking

Spookie----------I've got all the behaviors down. No hesitation on my part as to what they all mean. With Di --Dini was in the first phase, All happy, but standing his ground. As soon as I saw Di's hand go towards him, I knew it could change in an instant.. She didn't have a clue. That's why I gave here the book.

Done allot of sitting today-----------YAY I've done so much study about LS.... obviously learned allot. But what I have also learned is that MANY women are misdx'd by both derms and Gynie's ...all for the lack of a biopsy. There's a thread here where the responders are all talking  vaginal atrophy. Because that's what there Gynie's are telling them. They don't know me from EVE. and I'm suggesting a biopsy to be read by a dermatopathologist.  Vaginal atrophy is treated with hormonal drugs. Lichen Sclerosus and Lichen Planus is treated with steroids.  But who are these women to believe? If their gynie doesn't suggest a biopsy, they can go on for years with a wrong dx. Bummer.

tried answering earlier but ipad locked up. Then did the new update, then went shopping for new rug. Nope, didn't find one.  Will keep looking, maybe online.

I wear only Naturalizer, only thing that doesn't make my foot hurt. Yes Chevy, my dancing shoes, digging in dirt shoes, walking shoes.

Sass, glad you can sit, on your button!  the floors were done by Costco.

  • NEWBIES - Welcome to all of you..... just be aware that we may not remember your names, and will probably give you new ones. You'll figure it out. Also, this is probably the most Stream-of-Consciousness thread on the BCO forum... everyone just seems to say whatever is on their mind at any particular moment. Do NOT get discouraged if you can't keep up. Just jump in. Sometimes it's like merging on a busy freeway.

2TA - I owe you a phone call, but understand you are going to a retreat. Wishing you a soft, peaceful, restoring time. L&H&Ps!!!!!

Smaarty - we were just talking about replacing the tile floor in our kitchen. There are some big cracks from settling, and the house is still under warranty. We were thinking about replacing it with tile that looks like wood. THAT would repel water and other liquids! Yours looks just great!!!!

Sistah's with pain - sending gentle hugs.....

    Tangandchris -  LOVE the photo!!!

Chevy - you da bomb. Seriously.

Big shout-out to all I missed naming individually....

    ~ ~ ~

I actually DID something yesterday. Our church and three other churches put on a concert last night in the parking lot of our church. They had food trucks, and tons of stuff for the kids to do. DH got there early and parked the truck in a strategic position. (I came later, in my own car.) He listened to the sound check, and determined that the noise would be REALLY loud. I told him I wanted to sit in the bed of the truck in our lawn chairs, so we did.It was the Okie Lounge!

Everyone who walked by said we had the best seats in the house, and they were. High enough and close enough that we could see and hear everything, but far enough away we weren't deafened by the amplifiers.

Unfortunately, I took a spill climbing out of the truck bed when it was time to go home, and slept for 12 hours last night. No injuries, but I never felt like I woke up today. Probably won't make it to church tomorrow, either. Crazy brain stuff.

     Loopy

Hope y'all are having sweet dreams!!!!

  • I love reading last night, I got 4 hours sleep and loved the joy

and happiness shared here, Blessing I am working on getting

may help with my machines still and will go look at the lines you

gave me. Good to know I am not alone all night. I am so sorry about

Your fall, I was like that and used my walker more today. Take care

    and comfort to all.

  • Hi, footprintsangel... aside from The One who watches over you, you are never alone all night with this place here... there is usually someone who is awake at the same time you are. Glad you got some sleep. I may have another link for you. If so, I will post it on the other thread. Love and hugs and prayers for you....

Tang- the pics are the perfect size so we can see you better!!! ThumbsUp

  • Footprintsangel, welcome! We're a crazy bunch, but harmless (well at least I am, maybe I shouldn't speak for others, you know who you are!) Chevy will tell you, we shorten everyone's name (well, almost everyone), that's how I got 2TA. Do you want to tell us what you prefer or wait till someone renames you?)

Smaarty, the floors are looking great! Wonderful when it's all complete. Those are looking like some comfy shoes and that's all that counts (unless you're a pole dancer, that is. Not mentioning any names, Chevy!)

Sassy, so happy your butt is better! On what other thread can all these topics be addressed? Gotta love IT and all the Owlettes. Very pretty pictures of ass, I mean glass. Ain't you a bi-yotch? Huh? Bed time?

Tang, thanks for sharing pics of you and DH! Now we can match the name with the pretty face! What a great smile you have. Cute DD's, they get their beauty from their momma!

Blessings, my sweet friend, you do not owe me a call! And, puh-leaz take care of yourself!!

FOR THE RECORD, I DONT KEEP SCORE ON CALLS, TEXTS, EMAILS, PM's, FB's..... If so, I would be owing everyone something, just can't handle that stress. Besides, it all evens out eventually........

    And about my stress:

So, let's see, BC, Alzheimer's, ER and hospital visits, flu/exhaustion, job loss/search, bros not speaking and I'm in the middle, Mom declared comatose on Wednesday then a miracle happened and she "awoke" as a chatterbox yesterday (yup, you read that right), and a few other things I'll spare you all from, that appears to not be enough stress in my life. Have been following an online "professional job coach" (I think that's what she calls herself): she asked a question about the biggest obstacle we're still having in our job search efforts (can't remember what I answered, it was honest and polite, no explanation of my messed up life) and this bi-yotch just reprimanded me in an email!! That I'm not following her directions close enough and, um, not enrolling in her very expensive private job search services (watch it Chevy). WTH? Is she kidding me?? In return, asked her about the view she has of herself from her sky-high pedestal she sits on and to delete me immediately from future emails.

BUT, on a lighter note.... Went to a wonderful BC retreat today run by the sister-hospital from where I was treated the last time. Wow, did they spoil us: breakfast, lunch, presentations by awesome speakers, oncology/lymphedema massage presentations, yoga exercise, goody bags, door prizes, a candy bar like at weddings but the best part was friendship and support. I mean, really, we're in SoCal, one lady at my table was asking about 3D tit tats, which of course, brought up Vinnie and Renee's names, not only that, she's also a member of BCO! Small world! Not mentioning names, so hoping she joins us here on IT. And yes ladies, Vinnie and Renee coming to west coast next spring.... Just saying....

Vinnie and Renee, are you lurking?

Also, on a good note, weather seems to be cooling off. Woo-hoo!

Think I'm gonna take the little dark cloud that's been following me and my Debbie Downer attitude to bed. Either that or find a glass of wine somewhere.....

I may have a date with my recliner tomorrow......

Tangandchris- your family is lovely! Such cute kids. Having all girls is lots of fun and work. I have 3 girls. Thanks for sharing the photos.

Smarty I love the floors. We got our daughters' bedroom flooring from costco, but we were not offered any installation. We had a friend put it in. I love it and he said it was very good stuff and well made.

Spookiesmom- I looked at airfares and I can't really head out until after Thanksgiving and the prices go through the roof. Might have to wait until after New Years to head to Florida. Which is good I should be covered in moss by then, 2 months of rain! My Mom lives in Sarasota. How far away are you? If not too far I could maybe meet you for lunch. I have had to log in more often -  now that you mention it.

Sass I hope you are feeling better. Magd hope you re breathing better. In fact I hope you are all doing well and hanging in there. Chevy I have garden clogs I adore - not crocs just regular. Easy on and easy off.. they are the best.

Welcome and howdy to anyone I missed. Sleep well owlettes

Morning gals! I'm just going to go along here, like I just didn't spend
1/2 hour writing to you, and in the flick of a finger, lost it all! DAMN!

But wait.... SASS! So you are telling me that you think all men are
stupid? Don't pay any attention to her girls.... She has this thinking that
she could change him even if he is....

Men aren't stupid, they are just lacking in certain skills and well, they
don't think like girls. You wouldn't WANT them to! Having ONE perfectionist in
the family is enough... we don't need TWO.

You set him limits? Yeah, like THAT'S gonna work! He ain't even YOURS
yet, and I can't see him minding you and your limits! Anymore than your dogs
would.... well, maybe they would better....

Just take him as he is Sass.... He ain't a gonna change, anymore than you
are.... Just give him a week-end pass.... enjoy him with no strings... It
sounds like he wants a lot more space than you want to give him.

Getting back to your Eczema.... Mine was Dishydrotic eczema... caused by
that chemical that was in that hot-spot-spray, and I kept getting IN to it, just
by petting her! I DID wear gloves when I treated her, but that chemical was
still on her fur, so I kept re-contaminating myself, without knowing it. See?
    I DO know something.

Morning Mom2! And Peppermint! Smarty, I love to shop online! Sometimes
it's better than going all over looking for something special!

Wait! You only have one foot? You said it! You said your shoes don't
make your foot hurt.... It really IS hard to get those shoes to fit on one
    foot!

And Spookie, would you mind telling me what this means...." Smaarty
have you had trouble STAYING loges in since new update? "

So do we all have to stay in "loges" once in
awhile? Whatever that is? And you can't remember? Or IT can't?

I'm still back on the last page, so just go along with me here....

Love your pictures Tang! And who is that MAN that is with you....???
Wait! Don't TELL me... No, now I said DON'T! Oh well okay.... is that YOUR
DH? He is rather handsome you know.... And you guys look like the perfect
couple! If he ISN'T your Husband, never mind all I just said.

So now Blessings... You are saying that we might have a newbie among us?
And might her name be something like LittleFoot? I like that name! We don't
have a foot anything on here... So LittleFoot, just hang with us kid...

If we can't help you sleep, you can still have a lot of fun here... No,
you are never alone at night... I'M not with you, but the rest of these
sleepless babes are... I sleep like normal people. And what are you doing with
    a walker?

I used one when I broke my femur in February! But I have graduated to a
flowered cane... like when we walk the Malls... I don't think my leg is ever
going to be much better than it is now... But what can I say.... as Cammi will
most certainly tell you, I AM OLD! Ha, ha! But I am doing great, for my....
    um..... age....

So wait Blessings... Is it Footprints in the Sand? Or Footprints Angel?
That was my Mom's favorite poem....

2222222222222nd! Me Here! I had this long post, a lot of it to you, and
LOST the damn thing! You want us to come out there and drag that mean woman
down the alley? She must be a b###h! That means bitch, in case anyone can't
    understand #####s.

You say Vinnie-lost-in-space is coming to see you? I think I have given up
on him.... he is such a wanderer!

Glad you had such a nice time on your outing! A goodie bag? And FOOD?
    Sounds like fun to me!

Morning Rosie! Yes go meet Spookie... You will have fun with her... I
had lunch with her and Sass.... We got SOOOoooooo drunk, that I can't remember
much about it.... but it must have been fun!

Oh Hi Mom2! The rain woke you up? I just WISH we could get some rain
here! You know, I always wanted to have my Daughter come over, when it is
raining, and we could go running down the lawn, holding hands, and laughing in
the rain. Someday we will. Winking

Patty I'm glad u are over that stopid virus thingy.

It s such a hard time in life when our parents need so much help, it jst hard seeing and feeling all the emotions that u have to go thru.

I still have to catch up, but liked that pic Teka, I haven't been on FB in a while.

Well Chevy I see u yakked it up a bit, not more than usual so I can't really say u say nothing, cuz u do say words and connect some thoughts so u are a true wordsmith, OK does that make u feel better, and I know it's not easy for people of u'r age--oops did it again, shouldn't mention age, well at least yours anyway.

I hope today fids everyone relaxing and feeling better or partying and feeling great.

Good morning owls and hiya foots, good to cu here.  ♥ to all

Love the description of this thread as stream of consciousness.

Can I ask why you'd want to stay logged in here when not online?

Bought some 10-YO cheddar to make mac & cheese for supper.

  • good morning ladies.

Foots - welcome. I seen all these people welcoming you and though wth? She's not new!  But then my slow brain remembered you are a gamer. Me too. I have seen your name and funny answers on the games/humor. So welcome here.

Mags - hope you are breathing better

Blondie - shout out. Hope you are sleeping.

Spookie - I have to log in every time too. Even if I just minimize it. Weird ?  Thought it was just me. Guess not.

Tang - nice pic.  Thanks for sharing. What a beautiful family you guys are. Ever call the lady from church ?

Blessings - hope you are feeling ok. A church concert complete with first class seating. Sounds perfect except the fall if course.

    Rosevalley / good morning

2nd - the bc retreat sounds like just what you needed. Too bad it was only one day. You def need a longer break.  Your mom is awake and chattering ? Wow. How's your dad now ?

Chevy - did you say you were taking leaves yesterday ? They are falling early here this year. I am lazy. Let the leaf blower do most of the work then just mulch them with riding lawn mower. Well actually my oldest ds does it not me. But it looks easy. Lol.

Mommy - rain surely isn't going to help a sinus headache huh. Maybe you can get a nap today.

Cami - sounds like you are caught up on your sleep. Yea !

Badger - homemade Mac and cheese sounds delicious.  What time is supper ?

My dh comes home from hunting trip this afternoon. Been gone since thur. Funny how I miss him even after 23 years together. The break was good but now hurry home feels like I am missing my right arm. Besides my ds's will def stop all this arguing with each other when dh gets home.  Funny how they think they can get away with much more with me.  Crazy weather was mid 80's yesterday and today.  Usually in jeans and jackets this time of year but now it's still shorts and bakini tops.  Hurry up jeans weather I am tired of shaving my legs.

Hope all have a good day.

    Hootie hoo

Patty, 4:30/5:00 work for you?  Smile

    Here's the recipe:

    Mom’s Macaroni & Cheese

    A special family recipe.
This casserole is custardy, moist, and tender. It has a livelier, ‘greener’ taste than you’re
used to in mac & cheese.

    1 c uncooked
    or 3 c cooked pasta

    1 ¼ c hot
    milk

    3/8 c dry
bread crumbs or ¾ c fresh bread crumbs

    ½ pound
    Cheddar cheese, grated

    1 medium
    onion, finely chopped

    1 green
    pepper, finely chopped

    Lots of
fresh parsley or watercress, finely minced

    (3 or 4
    scallions, finely minced, optional)

    1 tsp sea
    salt

    2 eggs,
    well-beaten

    1. Cook the
macaroni until it’s tender but still firm.
    Drain it.

    2. Pour the
hot milk over the bread crumbs and cheese in a big bowl. Add the onion, green pepper, parsley or
watercress, scallions, and salt. Stir in
the eggs, then mix in the cooked macaroni.

    3. Put the
mixture in a buttered casserole dish.
    Sprinkle with paprika.

    4. Bake in a
350 F oven for about 30 minutes, or until the casserole is firm and
    golden-brown.

    Variation:
If you’re feeling extravagant, top the casserole with a layer of sliced,
    stir-fried mushrooms.

    Yield: serves 4.

Okay Spookie, I just might mention, look at how you spelled "spel" !!

Hah! That was so funny! Oh man, I LOVED that pitcher of what-ever it
was.... You didn't drink no.... but you were smoking weed.... I just know
    it.

And you were watching those ..... ummmm "movies" on your cell phone!

CAMMI! You found us! Again! We take you sooooo far away, and you always
find your way home! And Patty has a "stopid" thingy.... or did.

Now that must be the same as stupid.... or topical, or something like
    that.

It's just funny, because WE are the only ones who know what we are talking
about! If anyone new finds us, they would turn around, and beat feet the other
    way!

HAH! I am a "wordsmith?" How the hell did you ever spell THAT right?
Yes, I am that.... whatever "that" is.....

Yes Badger.... we are "streamers of consciousness"..... Ha! That's a good
    one!

No.... don't ask why we want to stay logged in.... or "loged" in as Spookie
says.... We WANT to stay logged in, in case we need to get here in a hurry!
Then we don't have to remember some silly password or something.

Peppermint! Did I say "taking" leaves, or maybe "raking" leaves? Well,
both are right...Ha! I even blow some up against the fence, then shovel them
into that big thing, and throw them over the fence, to therefore feed the trees
as mulch, so they can make even MORE leaves next Spring!

Badger.... that recipe sounds GOOD! I'll have to try it... And
"custardy"??? Did you just make that up? You DID, didn't you!
