20 minutes of stretching/toning and 30 minutes on the treadmill tonight.
Ginger - congrats on your 5K time! Great picture!
Mary - Awesome news about your DEXA results!!! Great job to you, too on your 10K with your hubby - what a cute picture of you two!
TwoHobbies - I think you should get extra credit for doing the stairs in heels!! That is tricky, for sure. Luckily, I can wear sneakers to my work!
Patoo - my house is chilly, too!! Hubby likes to keep control of the thermostat...may have to turn it up while he is sleeping!!

Goodnight all!

Mary-congrats on your run and dexa scan. Gives me hope that after these meds it could get back to normal. It sure was cold yesterday morning.

Mary, such a great picture of you and your hubby!!! Great news on your decade scan!!!
Did the stationary bike and elyptical today!!!

Congrats on the run and Dexa scan Mary. Great picture of you and DH, definitely needed to be bundled up.
Exercise for me today was some vacuuming, dusting and 30 minutes of circuit training.

Ginger and Mary congratulations to you both and Mary woohooo on the good Dexa, mine wasn't so good but it was only a couple of months after I finished the Femara so I'm hoping it will get better, it's my right hip but my Dad had 3 hip replacements so I'm thinking there's a little bit of hereditary going on with me as well, and lovely pic of the two of you. Great accomplishment Jazzy. TH I'm out of breath going up 2 flights of stairs at the gym, good job. Patoo I much prefer to rug up rather than turn on the heat, mind you it's only felt like fall here for a couple of days and we actually got some rain in Friday night which was most welcome.
Did my Sh'bam class this morning and went to Body Combat tonight, stood in the back row so I could break off and go cough into my towel, this is getting old

Cheryl - that cold is really hanging on for you - isn't that warm California sunshine supposed to cure that kind of stuff? Hope you feel better soon. Two - doing steps in heels??? Definitely impressive. I'm with mel on this one - I'm lucky I can wear sneakers to work!
Heard from Badger - she said to tell everyone she's doing well, but has a new PC and configuring it is proving to be a bit more of a challenge that she wants!
She said she'll be back here as soon as she gets everything working. Took a quick 30 minute run at dawn this morning - I hate that the days are getting so short now! Fall is peaking around here - I took this picture of my street when I finished my run. Yep, time to get the rakes out!!

Running up and downstairs catching up on housework that got neglected yesterday!

I am still sweating it and off to the doctor in a couple of hours. Talk about miserable. The worst was going off to get some wonton soup, shivering in the corner, and then discovering that I managed to choose the one time in FOUR YEARS that the Redmond fire department does the fire alarm test. So piercing sounds for something like 15 minutes, in this case a true eternity.
Still not hungry, but at least I am eating a bit. I was told I needed to. Interesting that they said "protein".
Mary, congrats on getting back into the NORMAL range. This is major and validates my decision to do running. I am not surprised based on the research of Dr. Miriam Nelson. But nice to have someone you know discover this independently.
I have to get well as beyond busy and then there is that conference next week. Catch everyone later. I am hoping that the end of the big sweat is in sight. - Claire

Blah! Claire it sounds like you, Cheryl, and I have different versions of the same germ. Mine has migrated to my sinuses so I have one of those headaches right behind my eyes.

My morning exercise teacher is back, so we had a fun workout. 15 minutes of Zumba-like dancing & 30 of toning (weight, abs etc. but all choreographed to music so that it is more fun). We did so many weights that we never got to the abs, so I did a 15 minute ab DVD when I got home.
Mary, your street looks pretty. We are past the falling leaves stage here and are into the drab late fall look. No more raking anyway.
I am getting a much needed haircut, color & highlights this afternoon. Maybe all the chemicals will burn the germs right out of me!!!

P.S. Don't forget to VOTE!

Way ahead of you Ruth - I early voted last week!

Hope you feel better soon Cheryl, Ruth & Claire. I'm enjoying the perspective of your photo Mary.
Don't mean to panic anyone. Today, marks 50 days till Christmas!?!

Went to my livestrong program at the YMCA after a two week hiatus due to my trip to Mexico and sadly the class has ended :-(
I asked the person at the counter if I can join their next session and make up for the lost time, she took my information and is going to forward it to the livestrong team to see if they'll let me join in their next session which is starting in two weeks. I would love to continue going and if not possible then I'll look into a family membership with the Y.
No exercise today.

Hi all. Stopped at home before going to the gym and, yes, never got back out again. I should know better. But came on here and voices said 'do the stairs' so just did several runs of those and will march in front of TV or get motivated to pop in an exercise DVD. Have a few and they have been very lonely.
ruth, I voted weeks ago. Registered early this year to do it all by mail although I now wonder how secure is that? Trustworthy politicians - the two words are mutually exclusive!
Night my sculpted friends.

Cheryl, Ruth and Claire, I hope you guys kick the cold germs to the curb.
Lilacblue, you say wet noodle like it's a bad thing....LOL

Voted this morning and went to bootcamp tonight. Seriously ready for a nap now....

Mary- nice picture. We are past peak now. Ran 3.5 miles this morning before getting my stitches out and then voted. I could get used to working half time...
Hope all you sickies start feeling better.

No exercise for me today

worked late. Plan on getting back to it tomorrow since I will be home early!0 -
Mary your street looks beautiful, glad I don't have to rake up all those leaves. I worked late too but was able to make it to Body Jam, our instructor is heading to Chile on Saturday to present down there so we got to do the new routine that she needed to practice, new routines are always taxing to the brain
0 -
Was going to do an upper body workout this morning, then glanced out the window and saw all those leaves on the ground and thought - hmmm, raking uses the upper body! So I grabbed the rake and got out there - I'm reporting a half hour of serious raking this morning as my exercise!

Hello goils! It seems like forever since I checked in on any of my fave threads! Work is busy, busy, busy with brain-taxing stuff all day and extra hours because of a major project. Haven't been getting much exercise except for house and yard-work. Got in about 4 hours of leaf-blowing, leaf-raking, leaf-hauling, leaf-dumping, lawn-mowing and branch trimming on Saturday, followed by around a dozen trips down and back up the basement stairs hauling deck furniture inside for the winter.
I desperately need the voices! Had my 6-month MO visit today. Actually saw the new female NP at the office, who I really liked. All is well with me health-wise. BP was good, resting heart rate was an amazing 59! I am not pleased with my weight though. I gained 6 official pounds since my last appointment and am currently at my heaviest since 2004 when I joined weight watchers and lost 53 pounds. I've gained about 42 of that back through no one's fault my own
.So - I need the voices to help me do a 'mind over matter' rehabilitation. I must quit eating so much junk. I must get back to healthy snacks. I must make time for meal planning. I must order healthy meals when I'm at a restaurant. And I must, must, must get back to the gym!!!! That means I must improve my evening and sleep habits so I can get up earlier.
Please start yammering at me at about 5:15am eastern time on every weekday. Well, maybe just MWF to start so I can ease back into the habit
. Might have to count on Lilac Blue for though - she'll be heading into lunch time when I need to be getting up!Luv y'all!

S&S, good to read you back!
Got to the gym this morning for double freestyle step, sporting new Nike trousers given by my son. I was taken to lunch by husband who took the day off, to a michelin star
restaurant as a treat, as today is my birthday (it's Guy Fawkes/Bonfire Night here in the UK). Been a relaxing, enjoyable day.0 -
LilacBlue: Happy Birthday!! And many more to come! Sorry for my ignorance but what is Guy Fawkes/Bonfire Night about? I'm seeing tweets about it but I don't understand. Any way, continue enjoying your day!

Happy Birthday, LB!! The michelin star restaurant sounds like a fabulous way to spend a birthday. And think of all those bonfires and other celebrations as all of the UK celebrating with you!!

Sweet - been there, done that. Have you ever thought of having meal plans delivered? I'm not a cook and hate preparing meals and measuring everything, so WW just didn't work for me. I did Nutrisystem one time but I thought the meals were really awful, plus you still had to make salads and other fresh stuff to go with it. Now my go-to plan is Diet To Go - I used it years ago to drop 60 pounds, and go back to it every time I need to drop 10-15 pounds. We can pick it up fresh in my area, but I understand that they have a way you can get frozen meals delivered to you. You can customize how many meals you get - I usually get 7 breakfasts, 7 lunches, and 5 dinners, cuz I'm not going to totally deprive myself of going out to eat! Even with that, I can pretty reliably drop 10 pounds when I go on it for a few months. The meals are really complete so I buy no other
groceries while I'm on DTG, and there are no leftovers or snacks around to tempt
me. Like so many of those plans, it's pricey, but I figure that for the short term, it's worth it to get rid of those pounds, and I'm saving a ton otherwise by not buying groceries. Also, because you just throw the meals in the microwave for a few minutes and they're ready, there's no issue with trying to plan meals and no time needed to prepare them. You can get Traditional, Low Carb, and Vegetarian meals, and you can get order either 1200 or 1600 calories per day. Don't know if that's your style or not, but thought I'd throw it out there.0 -
Happy Birthday, Lilac!!!!!
Okay sweet, time to get back at it, starting RIGHT NOW! (There, does that sound like a crabby enough voice?). My eating has gone south too....so I am doing loseit.com....trying to be religious about it as no matter how much I exercise, I have to control the food as well.....boo hoo!!!
WWW walked in a shelterbelt on a surprisingly pleasant morning. The forecast had called for rain (possibly mixed with snow
) and temps in the 30s. And it had rained earlier in the morning but had stopped before we walked, plus there was no wind.....in otherwise, a nice November day in North Dakota!

Hope you had a wonderful birthday, LilacBlue!! Sweet, so good to see you and you sure looked beautiful when U saw you in June!! You will get back on track !! 😃 great pic, Ruth

Argh! DH designated this afternoon as 'Clean Out the Garage' day (actually I was glad because I am usually the one nagging him about that sort of thing), so I have been working hard & will now sit in the recliner until it's Zumba time!

I walked 40 minutes today. Yesterday I intended to go out for a walk but the wind was blowing really hard and I only had a sweater so instead I did my 10 minute stair walk routine again, but at least I had my running shoes on!
Sweet, what works for me pretty well is the 80/20 rule. My 80% is eating really really healthy, really just meat, eggs, nuts, fruits, vegetables. Then my 20% cheat might be a simple as a few tortilla chips or a serving of chocolate. So maybe that sounds like no fun but really its the only thing that works for me. I learned (sadly) I can't eat kind of, sort of healthy and then eat whatever I want every weekend as in my youth. For me the key has been finding simple meals that I like and are easy.

thanks all. Unlike Pat I enjoy cooking and do a bang-up job when I have time to plan and prep. Lot-s of veggies and protein. I really do know WHAT I need to do, just need to get back in the habit again. Appreciate all your thoughts - don't forget to holler in my head at 5:00 tomorrow morning

happy bday, Lilac!
I walked 3.6 miles after school today. Gets dark so early now that the sun was going down by the time I finished.
