Mary - glad you were able to enjoy some time with your FIL.
I'm with Patoo - can't imagine 11 below - yikes! Too cold for me!
Nothing for me today yet - am thinking the dreary, misty rain is drowning out the voices!!

MEL147 - CAN YA HEAR ME NOW!!!!

YES, PATOO!! I CAN!

That walk yesterday made me quit sore today so I am going to rest today. It's been raining here and expected to continue into Wednesday. Maybe I can get on the stationary bike tomorrow, although i really hate that thing.

jenjen1, I do the stat bike at the gym and find I can stay at it longer (more than 5 mins!) if I'm reading a good book. Same for the treadmill at the gym or at home - I can go longer if I'm reading or watching TV. During nice (read warm) weather I can walk for hours outside with or without my music on.

yikes, Ruth, that is cold! What a nice difference the sun can make.
We had a snow day from school but it ended up being mostly rain. Starting to freeze up now. I made soup and chili and then got in an hour at the gym.

Wow Ruth. I agree with everyone, that is cold! Too cold for my weenie self....
Mary, I am glad you and DH had a good visit with your FIL. Sending gentle hugs and wish for peace for him as well as the family.
Got my daily step goal on Saturday while running errands and grocery shopping. Enjoyed a lazy rest day yesterday watching football before going out to dinner for an early birthday celebration. Today I hit the gym at lunch for 30 minutes on the treadmill plus some weights.
Sweet dreams my sculpted sisters.

I'm way behind on all the posts. Bitter cold here last week so Monday through Friday I did nothing more than walk a bit inside the building and the 8 flights of stairs routine, but not enough exercise for my taste. Saturday I went to the mall and walked 40 minutes, boring because you can't stop to shop if you're exercising, but it did the job. Sunday it warmed up a bit so I got out for a 40 minute walk. Now today after work if was cold again. I started out with my dog and he only lasted 8 minutes although it felt like 15.
Those who do Zumba DVDs, how much floor space do you need? I have a very little floor space near either TV. I'm in the same dilemma as last winter - do I join the gym, join a Zumba class, get some equipment at home.

Hello, it's been a while since I've done some "formal" exercise although I did some walking while on vacation. Today I received an e-mail from Livestrong at the YMCA stating I've been admitted to the next session since I did not finished the one in the Fall. So starting next week I'll be going Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon to 1pm. I also want to start doing some slow walking around the house on the days I don't go to the Y.Please keep the voices LOUD

You don't need much space if you are exercising to a DVD.
LOUD VOICES FOR ALL IN NEED....KEEP MOVING!

Mel and the voices got me going. 30 mins on treadmill. Light dinner and soon to bed.

Well, today all I really did was shovel- but almost up to 10,000 steps on the fitbit- so I feel at least if I have that minimum I'm good. Yesterday I did yoga and the day before elliptical at the Y. Tomorrow is yoga and hopefully elliptical as well.
Good luck, Cassie!

Voices got me up off the couch and to a Spin class tonight, I really didn't feel like going still coughing but hopefully another couple of days and this dreadful cold will be gone, my ribs hurt so much from it all.
Aurora good to see you back.LB I don't know that we did the latest release cause it's not an class that I go to very often but I did enjoy it. Mary glad you and M got to spend the times with your FIL. Ruth my gosh that is cold.

It still hurts to sit down from my weekend rides...25 miles each day. Did my walk and other exercises yesterday.
Major excitement is that my guy and I will be going away to the Methow Valley for a ski weekend in mid-February to celebrate my birthday!!!! He has never been and I just loved it when I visited 2 years ago. I booked a table in the fab Italian restaurant (locally sourced, hand made food) for Valentine's Day.
I have skied in weather ALMOST that cold, Ruth. Beautiful clear day in Vermont about 11 years ago where temps didn't quite make it to zero. We were going to do a loop. But we came back in the sun so retraced our steps. It was too cold even to eat the chocolates I had brought. But few things equal the experience of skiing underneath snow-making equipment. That ICE SHOWER was the absolute worst.
It was lovely, sunny, and mild here yesterday. No fog until the evening, and doing my walk was very "atmospheric". Off for another busy day. - Claire

Busy here too. Did my cardio sculpt class this morning, subbing at noon & having company for supper. It is 6 degrees ABOVE zero.....whoo hoo!

Cheryl, keeping taking care fellow human (reminder of not being LM super woman). Mary, good that the trip went as well as it could and I can envision you in the Chino Hills with howling no less. I downhill ski and have been very cold yet I doubt not the "brisk" temps in SD. Had no idea that Methow was the largest xcountry ski area in all of North America.
Yesterday, signed up to courses that start next Tuesday to obtain UK qualifications to teach group fitness to those with specific health problems. This will help with possible expansion of pink pilates, the small grassroots charity I work with and some other things I'd like to do.
Body balance this morning at the gym and yoga tonight sans son who staying home revising.

My day consisted of having my roots covered up so no one knows my real age😁! But tomorrow it's full steam ahead! Early spin class, barre class and restorative yoga. Which I desperately need after dealing with my insurance company (TRICARE) over my 2 surgeries!

I went for my first walk today, 4 days post MX. It was a short walk, but it felt good to get out and do it. Tomorrow will be better. And I got great news today - I had a complete pathological response to my neoadjuvant chemo. There was no cancer left in my breast tissue or lymph nodes. Yahoo.

CassieCat that is great news! So happy to hear it! I did 30 minute Pilates video when I got home from work before supper. And then had a phone meeting with my health insurance health coach, which always gives me motivation to get back on track.

Cassie: You made my heart leap with gladness! So So So Happy for You!!!
Mary: Glad you and dh and quality time with your FIL. This is a sad time for your family and please know that I am thinking of you.
Cheryl: Hope you start feeling better soon.
Hi All. My dining room is now complete. The walls are painted and the new shades are up. My exercise for today was fixing dinner for 10 people (dh's relatives) so we could christen the "new" room.
Ruth: I fixed your Chicken Supreme recipe. Except it is now renamed. We call it Ruth from North Dakota Chicken. Here's the recipe for those who want an easy, delicious chicken dish:
6 boneless chicken breasts
6 slices Swiss Cheese
1 can cream of chicken soup 1 box chicken flavored Stove Top dressing mix
1 stick margarine, melted
Place chicken in 9x12 baking dish. Layer a cheese slice on top of each chicken breast . Mix soup with 1/2 can water & pour over chicken & cheese. Mix stuffing with margarine & sprinke over top. Bake, covered at 325 for an hour; uncover & bake an additional half hour. Easy and Fantastic!0 -
LB, you go girl! You will be a great group fitness instructor.
Mary, so sorry about your FIL, glad/sad you guys got to say goodbye.
It doesn't get quite as cold here as ND but we have our moments. Since you can't stay inside for weeks on end, you learn to cope and move fast. I did just 15 mins of zumba dvd on Sun before DH came home from work and yes Ruth the game got my heart rate up a bit. Someone asked how much room you need to do zumba dvd. I live in a small house and have to move the recliner to get maybe three feet of room on either side of me.
Worked late Mon so called that my rest day. Walked 45 mins @ indoor track after soup supper tonight. DH not feeling great so we canceled date night. While he snoozed on the couch, I boogied to side A of Disco Classics mix tape.
Adding my Voice of encouragement for those who need a boost. Start with ten minutes - whatever it is you can do 10 minutes (you can!). Once you start, it's easier to keep going. ♥ to all

Great news Cassiecat! Feel better soon Cheryl. Congrats on finishing the dining room Wonderland. Great feeling once it is done.
Went to bootcamp tonight and took a friend from work. Think she's hooked like me.
Sweet dreams my sculpted sisters.

Cassie, I am SO happy!!! What fantastic news!
Lilac, what fun & you will be a great teacher and will be a great example too.
Wonderland, great minds must think alike because I made that same dish for my company tonight!! It is yummy! (I call it Marvel's Chicken because that is the name of the lady who gave ME the recipe.) I am now sitting in the recliner feeling like the boa constrictor who swallowed a water buffalo whole.

Cassie I am so happy for you. Ruth I loved that on your FB page and I stole it. Wonderland congrats on finishing the room and you've christened it already woohoooooo and I too love Ruth's Chicken Dish it's easy and very yummy. Badger I see you coming over to the dancing side, LB I am what is known in our circle as an LM Groupie
and I second what everyone says you will be a wonderful instructor.Tonight did Body Jam but it was bittersweet after class I sat and just held my young friend as tonight they are turning off her Mums life support, she was going to go out and drink and I knew she was just trying to mask her feelings so I just held her until she started crying, her grief came from deep in her belly but she needed to release it, such a sad ending to a great night

So sad, Cheryl. LB, wonderful idea! Mary, sorry to hear about your FIL.
Had to sprint to the tram stop as DD forgot her theater ticket. (Her class went to see West Side Story.) Then I realized I could have made her sprint back home to get it. Sheesh. Then it was sprinting to Zumba on my bike.

Cheryl you are a good friend and I'm sure she appreciated someone who understands. She needed that.
Thanks badger for the Zumba floor space assessment. I'm going to see how far I can Angle my TV.
Lilac how thrilling to be certified to instruct. My cancer program personal trainer was a 2 time BC survivor. It's nice to have one who has been through it.
Reporting yesterday's outside walk of 20minutes plus twice on the 8 flights of stairs. First time I did all 8 twice in a row.

We walked at the Civic Center where they are doing some remodeling.
The sign could maybe apply to all of us as well as to the building.
I plan to do zumba & yoga tonight. My heavy-duty exercise day!

Cassiecat, good news - YAY! hbcheryl, so sorry about your friend but you are a great comforter. ruthbru, that recipe sounds yummy and very easy but I think I just gained 2 lbs just reading it. Voices didn't get to me yesterday (and scale showed it today) so will get up in a few and hit the treadmill or a Leslie Sansone DVD.
Night sculpted friends.

Perfect motto, Ruth, and LOVED the video. Did you catch the lady with the hand fan? I'm going to do that!
TwoHobbies, I thought it was you who'd asked about zumba room but couldn't go back w/o losing my post.
Cheryl, you give the best hugs, no wonder your friend felt comforted and safe enough to release her tears.
Saw my onc for six-month follow-up this afternoon. All is well; however he's taking me off tamox and putting me on Arimidex. He was at the ASCO meeting in Chicago in June and the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium in Dec. Presentations on two clinical trials - TEXT (Tamox. and Exemestane Trial) and SOFT (Suppression of Ovarian Function Trial) - lead to his decision. I agreed with his logic and have a DEXA scan (bone density test) next week.
I tolerated the tamox pretty well and hoping same for the Arimidex. I smiled when he said one of the SE's is stiffness and the remedy is exercise! Imagine that.....
Will head to the track after the news to boogie to side B of Disco Classics. ♥ to all
