Ginger - very sorry for your loss.

Today was a 35 minute walk with my chugg. It was chilly, but sunny so it was nice to be outside. I'm trying to do a little training with her at the same time I'm getting some exercise for me!

20 mins AM yoga with Rodney Yee.  I really like this routine.  It starts with conscious relaxation, then 12 mins gentle yoga, and finish with meditation.  You can do these as stand-alone segments or let them flow together and I prefer to go with the flow.

If I push back the coffee table and move the recliner & a small writing desk, I have 8 feet of width and 12 feet of length to work out in.  That's enough room for leg stretches without obstacles.  DH is working all day so I'm going to leave the room as-is for zumba later.

It's kind of gloomy outside today, be nice if the sun would peek out, but it's supposed to be near 40 so I'll take it!  Will walk for groceries instead of taking the car.  That will naturally curb my purchases, not a bad SE.

I'm doing the 10-day Sugar Challenge with some friends and feel GREAT!  On day 6 and dropped 7 pounds.

Thanks for the welcomes everyone! I'm very new here, but offer my condolences to you Ginger. I'm so sorry for your loss.

My return to yoga was a bit premature, I'm afraid, as my TE is now screaming at me. So I will resign myself to meeting or exceeding my vivofit step goal of 4500 steps per day. I have set my weight loss goal very low because I think I will have more success if I break the 50 pounds desired lost into 10 pounds at a time chunks...

On the vivofit I get a little red bar on it that tells me it's time to get up and move. It partners with myfitnesspal app where I put in all my food and water intake for the day. Between the two, I can see how much I eat, how well I sleep, how much I move. I see that I don't sleep well, I'm starting to move more and I need to eat waaaaaaay less fat and carbs. Interesting because I eat a lot of salad! I also don't eat enough.Love it - can't lose weight because I don't eat enough 👎. But I have good tools and you all to help keep me motivated. 💪💪💪

    Ginger, sorry for the loss of your friends. {{HUGS}}

Alexa, yes, it is better to have 'realistic' goals so 10 at a time is much more likely to be attained. The salad can depend on what is in it as well. I've stopped using prepared salad dressing and only do olive oil and vinegar now, only a small sprinkling of low-fat cheese in it and also add beans. Find I don't get hungry or cravings but also think, like you, I don't eat enough. I've lost 22 lbs in 10 weeks.

Did 45 mins on treadmill this afternoon. Think I will do a veggie stir-fry tonight - so good!

    Night my sculpted friends.

1/17- tired from moving things around the house again with the reno work (part 2 begins monday), but did just complete a nice 25 min outdoor walk. Will resume at the gym tomorrow when I get my mojo back.

Ginger- I am so sorry about your friends passing. That was very sudden news about her reoccurrence and hospitalization, now of her passing. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

    Ginger, hugs to you today.

53 minutes of walking today plus some shopping gave me over 11200 steps and 86 active minutes.

I didn't know about the sugar challenge but I happened to recommit myself to no added sugar and no grains on Sunday. I'm going to do this for four weeks. So far, so good and down 4 pounds. Committing to no added sugar pretty much puts you on a whole foods diet because you can't buy hardly anything processed that doesn't have sugar in it.

Today's exercise was a lot of cleaning!! We finally got the ornaments off the tree and all the totes are packed up and ready to go back in storage. I also did a lot of dusting and vacumming downstairs. Dixie and I didn't get an official walk around the neighborhood today, just a few short ones around the yard. The dog trainer came this afternoon and gave us a lot of good tips, so I hope we can be successful at getting them to listen more and bark less!

thanks for your thoughtful words. It definitely has come as a shock though I do wonder if she knew and kept it to herself.

I went to the gym this morning and did the treadmill for an hour and rode a bike for 20 minutes.

I was not aware of the sugar challenge but I will check it out. I am following the Whole 30 program which cuts out sugar along with many other things. I feel so much better when I am not eating sugar.

Good job everyone and WTG patoo!

Walked to the market & home laden with groceries, something leafy & green poking from the tote.

Did an hour of zumba (the intro DVD then the 20-min express workout), I'm gonna feel it tomorrow!

A shower is in order.  Got nice clean sheets on the bed, hate to slide in covered with liquid awesome. ♥

Ginger I am so sorry about your friend. Patoo that is fabulous congratulations. Mel I've got one of those 'got to have the last word' ones too. Alexa slow and easy wins the race. Badger it brings a smile to my face when I see you post about dancing Happy.

This morning the Y that I belong to had an event called a 'Taste of Fitness' from 9am till 11.30am they had mini classes in 15 minute increments, so I did 2 Body Combats, 1 Zumba, 2 Spins and a Body Flow and then they had a Master Class where all the instructors came together and did one big combination of everything class the best part is that the wonderful Eduardo was our Body Combat instructor

I had an all-day board meeting yesterday, but snuck in a run first. I waited for it to get just light enough to see where I was going and out the door I went. So I arrived pumped and fresh looking for pictures. Great meeting and we are off and running. I did learn that my new work computer doesn't work with a projector quite as I had thought  Devil. Oh, well.

I don't think I will be doing the day of skiing I had planned. Not with it raining at the trailhead. BLECH!!! So another ride or run. Not sure which yet. My decision may have a lot to do with those high winds they are promising.

Great work, Patoo! Now some new duds to showcase the loss. You should be feeling this loss in all sorts of ways.

    Happy exercising everyone! - Claire

I've taken it easy but did go for a slow 1.5 mile walk yesterday. I was overdoing things a bit and had to force myself to slow down. I'm about 9 days post MX. But the walk yesterday was nice.

Good morning ladies and welcome Fourminor.

Cassie, I love to walk, it's my main form of exercise and all I did for several months until I was healed enough to try a yoga for bc survivors class.  I started after BMX with a goal of 500 miles inspired by a song (well I will walk 500 miles).  Reached that and added another 500 (and I will walk 500 more).  Now five years later I am almost at 5,000 miles!

Surprisingly I am not very sore this morning!  Just a touch in the upper arms which do need work.  It was those diamond steps!  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afPabo0rVmo  But stretched out all the kinks during a nice gentle 20 mins AM yoga.

It's sunny and 37 so will walk after breakfast.  Found an old mix tape called Side 1 Sunday - perfect. ♥ to all

Even though my back is sort of locked up from overdoing it with yoga, I managed to surpass my goal steps yesterday, & even came up just a smidge short on my daily calories. I am learning more about my eating habits and see that I really need much more protein in my diet and much less fat. I had no idea how much fat I've been consuming - it's everywhere! Still taking it easy but plan to exceed my steps goal today. Here's hoping

Alexa, I have a Fitbit and love getting the daily feedback. :) Looking back on my data since August, you can clearly see chemo every 3 weeks and when surgery happened. You can also clearly see when I was feeling stronger and motivated to get moving!

Badger, I love your goals! You're really moving! I set some step goals for myself for Jan., Feb. and March, and then I'll assess how things are going.

Yesterday I ran 2 miles with my best running buddy (my golden retriever) and then went on a 4 mile canyon hike to Eagle Rock with DS and DD. The elevation was pretty intense but the views were beautiful. So happy to have chemo behind me and can now explore this area we just moved to right before my diagnosis. Off for another run this morning and then a bike ride at the beach this afternoon.

Sounds like you are definitely on the upswing, LA Rock!

I just signed up for the Seattle-to-Portland Bicycle Classic. This year, it will go through Lewis-McCord base which will be a fascinating look at a world I have only cycled by. Plus we will miss a stretch of unpleasant highway. This year, I am going for 9 of 9.

All requires training which is the real point. My guy will be doing it too, but one day this year. I am just not fit enough to cycle over 200 miles in one day! Nor do I have the time to train 5x per week.

Off for a run in a bit while not raining. Thinking a trip into Seattle later. Need a change in scenery and one final Christmas item to buy. Nice and warm, if wet, this AM. So should be a nice run.

Tomorrow is a work day. Just too much going on, not to spend it at the office Sad - Claire

Did 6K on the rowing machine yesterday and today. It's warmer here too but kind of gloomy today. Might squeeze in a yoga video to loosen up before football. GO PATRIOTS!

I hope everyone has a great week....and keep up all the good work!

    Welcome fourminor!

It is beautiful here too (translated to sunny, no wind & in the 30s). I took a long, long walk in the nice fresh air.

That 10 day no added sugar diet sounds intriguing, but I'd flunk if I started right now because this evening I'm going to a fund raising event at the local art center entitled 'An Evening of Desserts and Jazz'!
