2/27- went to the gym to meet with my trainer today and to do a kettle bell work out and do measurements. My BMI drop another 1.5 since last month. Getting lean and mean!

My trainer told me today she is moving away though, and I will miss her. We are speeding up the last of my sessions with her so I can finish up with her in May vs. in June. I also plan to take her out for a nice dinner before she goes. She has helped me so much with getting my strength and fitness back, but now off to new adventures!

Subbed again (same very 'busy' class). When I got home I discovered that the small freezer in the basement had died (I followed the stench Sick). This is the SECOND time that has happened and I am so DONE stocking up! I tossed everything in it, cleaned it out as best as I could and hauled it up the stairs and into the garage. It had such a dreadful odor that I couldn't stand waiting for DH to show up to help (luckily I do lift weights so I didn't kill myself in the process!). Then I scrubbed the area with vinegar and sprayed air freshener all over the place and THEN I walked an hour on the treadmill. Now I am going to sit here and feel grouchy for awhile! Devil

Hi ladies, I had every intention of coming home tonight and doing pilates but I stopped at the state store to buy a bottle of wine. By the time I got home I decided that I would do some power-wining.....it was a really rough week! But I PROMISE that I will get on my rower tomorrow and do a good workout....both tomorrow and Sunday. Happy weekend everyone!

    Oh Ruth, not again! Devil

Worked at home today as had auto appt.  Spent lunch break @ indoor track, walked 30 mins.  Still slow but faster than yesterday.  Feeling better but I blew my nose so much this week that even with the lotion tissues it got chapped and is now peeling.  eeeewwwww!

Aurora, hope your dad gets better soon. Mary, hoping for peace for your FIL and family. Badger, I hope you feel better soon. Had that nasty cold myself a couple weeks ago so I understand how miserable you and your nose feels...LOL. Ruth, sorry about your freezer.

Went to bootcamp again last night but did not do anything tonight. Sounds like I had the same kind of week as Rhody so I came home, took a hot bubble bath and relaxed. Have to work overtime tomorrow so needed a mental break tonight but promise to take a walk tomorrow.

30 mins treadmill. Blood glucose fell on 3-month average from 8.7 to 6.4 which is very good. Eating much better and exercise is the reason. Keep it down for another 3 months and will may be able to ditch the diabetes med (metformin) altogether.

    Night my sculpted friends.

    Patoo: That's great!

Ruth: I can almost smell that freezer now - Yikes!

Nats: Good luck with your move!

Hi All. We had 4 inches of heavy, wet snow so my exercise has been Shovel N Sculpt. Plan to get some good walking in this weekend. Good Night Everyone!

Patoo-well done; that is a great improvement on your numbers! Have you read that they believe that Metformin may also provide protection against breast cancer? My mom takes it and it makes us feel a bit better about her having to be on it.

I have been at the gym each morning walking and running on the treadmill.

Looks like we are expecting another 5-7 inches of snow on Sunday. We finally had our first full week of school since Christmas and now Monday is looking iffy. I am seriously done with this....

Me too Ginger! Thursday was the first time I dared try to walk to Dunkin' Donuts since all this white junk started falling.

2/28- lots of snow today and did some morning shoveling for my first work out. I may get out on those snow shoes once and for all before this storm ends!

Debating whether to exercise or not today. I have sickness raging in my house with my son and husband both. So far I have escaped but have been really dead tired every evening so I can't tell if that's a sign. What to do think? Is it better to exercise or rest in this situation?

Welcome to the newbies. I know you can't imagine being back to normal but it does happen with time. I can absolutely attest to that. Didn't dream after chemo I could ever walk an hour effortlessly.

Badger I think we got about 5 inches of snow and all falling during rush hour, which is the worst. Yes there's always one crazy driver who thinks he knows how to drive in it and the rest of us are just driving slow because we're scared. WRONG!

Shout out to the east coasters who I think have had it worse than us, although we've had about 25 inches in my neighborhood that has stuck.

Rhody I think its good to power wine now and again.

Congrats, Patoo! I know that's great news to hear. Keep up the good work.

Ruth the husky pictures always remind me of my dear departed Keeshond. She would absolutely cavort in the snow.

    patoo, congrats! That is great.

I didn't walk after all last night, but I have plans to get out and walk after I take DD to ballet later this morning. She has class for 90 minutes, so I have plenty of time for a good walk, with a stop at a local Starbucks along the way. ;)

Patoo, that is just awesome!! You are doing so great with exercise and diet! During Lent, I always give up sweets! That should also help my blood glucose levels!! went to the gym downstairs this morning: elyptical, stationary bike and weight machines!! Have a wonderful weekend everyone!!!

Patoo, great numbers, your hard work is paying off, congrats!

TwoHobbies, I'm big on resting when tired but sometimes it's good to escape the sickhouse, esp if your guys are lousy patients like my DH.

It's sunny & cold here today.  Will hit the indoor track later this afternoon for a walk in the warmth. ♥

Thanks all for the motivating words. As soon as I get this contractor out of my home I will head off to the gym. Then I will get a nice workout later today and tomorrow vacuuming, steam cleaning, dusting and just general 'stuff' that needs to be cleaned after you have drywall type things fixed. Place is a mess. Matter of fact, maybe I'll skip the gym as this is going to be a big workout. We'll see.

Patoo, that's great news about your numbers! Keep up the good work!

Ruthbru, do you want red or white?

As promised I rowed like heck this morning on my machine. Did 6000K and beat my best time. I signed up for the spring session classes at the rowing club which start on Wednesday (spring??????????). As soon as we put our boat back in the water I will add Saturday mornings back. It's too far from the house to get there by 7:00am on Sats (takes me 40 minutes to get there). I like my Saturday sleeps too much to get up that early. So I always make sure to do a respectable row at home. Also did some house cleaning today. Scrubbing the shower is always good for a little bit of calorie burn.

To the newbies, as someone said in an earlier post, it's hard to believe that you will ever feel back to normal again, but you will. One year ago today was my last chemo treatment.......Happy Chemoversary to me and DH......we made it! One year ago on Wednesday was when I went to my first rowing class, I could hardly do anything but row at a very low resistance; I opted out of the really strenuous weight lifting that they did. Today I beat my best time on the 6K. So yes, YOU CAN!

Keep up the good work everyone! Tomorrow is March, which means spring is coming! To those of you in New England, your water reservoirs will be quite full from all the snow!

Patoo, congratulations on your hard work, which brought you to those good numbers.

Rhody, I believe red is more medicinal....but wouldn't turn down white either!

This morning I tried out a new Denise Austin DVD Yoga Body Burn. Four sections; 20 minute Yoga Burn, 10 minutes each of Yoga Legs, Yoga Abs, and Yoga Relax. It was pretty good (although there were several positions in the first part that I will never, ever be able to do). I hit the treadmill for 30 minutes after that. We are going to the movie McFarland tonight....where I will try NOT to eat popcorn!

    Happy Saturday!

Martha may I just say woohoooooooooo.   Patoo what great news all that good eating and exercise has really paid off and I have to say I love my steam cleaner, why do you have contractors in?   Mary hope the move goes well and may your FIL have peace and comfort on his journey. Ginger there may be no summer break for you if you have to make up all these snow days!!  Badger hope you get better soon, this seasons cold seems to linger for at least three weeks. Ruth if I were you I don't think I'd invest in another freezer Snooze TH I say rest up, you're probably getting lots of exercise running after your poor sickies.

We have another UK houseguest this weekend (yes Cadburys chocolate and M&S biscuits in the house yummmmm) so this morning skipped my class and went down to the beach and walked for a couple of hours, we are expecting a big storm and it was very windy but lovely and fresh.

hbcheryl, nice pics. Contractors because when the townhouses were built they apparently did not bolt down the trusses in the attic so every year in November on the top floor in 2 BRs, both baths and the hall/stairway some of the walls and ceilings separate up to an inch and then in April/May they come back together. Very weird but since I want to sell and must disclose any defects may as well get it done properly instead of just a bandaid. Unfortunately he has to come back next week because they were not able to match the paint properly so the BRs and hall have to be totally painted. I had enough paint from before to finish the baths. Just want to get it all done and back on the market (yes, ruthbru, the little guy spent the winter buried head first in the snow!)

Heading to church then lunch at Ruby Tuesdays with a friend (yummy surf and turf), pick up more paint and if have time will head to gym or workout at home.

    Enjoy your Sunday friends.

Unexpectedly went out to dinner last night, so I jumped back on the treadmill when we got home to burn off some of the excess baggage. This morning I tried Cheryl's 30 minute Les Mills Power Hit I, high intensity interval training. It was too much for me even with lighter weights and following the modified gal. If I do it again, I will probably just do 15 minutes at a time. Whew!

It's a rainy morning here in So Cal so I'll hit the gym for Pilates later. I think DD is going to go with today. I thought I'd share a picture of DH and the pups at the beach yesterday, enjoying our walk:
