Lilac - I bet that's one disappointed dog in that picture! With all our cold weather lately, our little Mikey has become very efficient when going outside. No stopping to sniff everything in sight! Welcome Homer! Rhody - good to get it checked out - sending positive thoughts. Claire - beautiful pix!

Woohoo - I'm cleared to run again! I had my nuclear stress test Wednesday and everything looked normal. Whew.

Funny story - after we got back from the cardiologist we took yet another car load to the dump. Right after we arrived, they stopped us and made us pull over for an inspection. Turns out I'd triggered their radiation detector! Pretty amazing - I was inside the car and apparently when we drove past the detector, it was sensitive enough to detect the radioactive stuff from my test. The people who worked there laughed and said it happens all the time, but they said they need the sensor because sometimes people unwittingly bring radioactive stuff there. They said it happens mostly with stuff from the WWII generation - the parents die, the kids clean out the house and there's stuff that Grandpa had from the war that's radioactive. I told DH I'd now been official certified by the County as a One Hot Babe! Happy

It was five degrees this morning with wind chills well below freezing. Brrrr! The only thing that gives this baseball fan hope is that pitchers and catchers reported to Spring Training yesterday! Can summer be far behind???

Hi everyone. I joined this thread last year, while trying to keep up with exercise right after surgery but found that between the chemo and rads I couldn't keep it going. Just getting to work every day and taking care of responsibilities at home proved to be enough of a challenge. Needless to say I am now fat and weak, hahahaha. But I'm also finally feeling back to myself and ready to get back to exercise! Got my feet wet yesterday and today by doing half an hour each day on eliptical/treadmill, and going to brave it tomorrow morning and see what I can do in a step/kickboxing class. I have 15-20lbs to shed and am determined to get it done! :D

I spent a half hour in the gym today, and walked!! If I can get an hour a day of exercise, I feel accomplished!!

Hi ladies. This is my first post in this thread. I am 52 and extremely fit. I had a lx in Dec and a re-excision and SNB in Jan. I am leaning toward a BMX and recon (TEs and implants; I have no fat). Two weeks after each of these last two lxs, I was back to a full range of activities, with my BS's OK, including pushups, pull ups, weights, boot camp and hot yoga. I also play winter tennis, ski, snowshoe and run with my dog. I think I will go nuts with the prolonged activity restrictions after a BMX. Today I did 75 min of power hot yoga, 1 hr spin class, 15 mins of insane abs. Hope everyone has a great weekend, whether exercise is a part of it or not.

Subbed in 6th grade (which was lots of work as they were squirrely today!) and did a 45 minute Denise Austin toning DVD when I got home.

Welcome to all the new ladies!

I seem to be hit or miss, but I did manage to get back on the treadmill today. I'm waiting for some warmer weather so I can get back to walking outside with my dog!

    Mary- great story!

    Martha-how was your appt?

    Claire-love the pictures.

I took thurs and Friday off from exercise because I have been having back spasms. Really rested today and it seems better so I am headed back to the gym tomorrow.

Of course we are expecting more snow but after this winter, 3-5 inches sounds like nothing.

hi all and welcome Homer, Longisland & downdog!  Great to have new members a.k.a. Sculpted Sisters.  Some of us are fit and some of us are not so fit but we all try. Here's some great info on safe exercise for anyone who's had nodes removed.

Mary, yay for nuke stress test results, you are one hot chick!

Martha, hope you were able to get your R armpit checked out today.  Positive vibes!

Claire, amazing pix and loved your comments about staying limber mentally & physically.

Homer, I had my first yoga class through Breast Cancer Recovery in Madison.  It was great and I was hooked. I did classes at a yoga studio for a while but that got expensive so I got a DVD and do yoga at home.  Must say, though, I really miss the sense of community in a class.

Haven't posted for a while.  Did housework Sat, yoga Sat & Sun, and walked at the indoor track Sat, Sun, Weds & Thurs.  Had supper with mom tonight.  We each had a small steak and a large glass of wine.  Then we wandered around a bookstore for a while.  Guess the apple didn't fall too far from the tree.  :-)

This was on a hike I did right before coming down with the flu. Glad there were no cougars, just a few bunny tracks.

Badger, congrats on 5,000 miles! I missed that milestone somehow.

    Sending positive vibes, Martha.

Heidi...this flu is the pits. Feel better. Just love the scenery! I have the chest cold that is going around, so will be something subdued later exercise-wise. Plus a hair trim in Seattle.

I am thinking seeing this picture that I might want to get myself to Mount Rainier as the only place nearby with snow. But not this weekend. I would love to do one more ski this winter.

Cougars also live nearby. Fortunately, I haven't seen them, but there are signs up in the Redmond watershed (just down the road) to be mindful of them, and not to walk there solo.

Can't wait to be done with this cold! Time to get the bicycle out too. Just cleaned my car yesterday, so need a bit of mud to make things normal again Loopy - Claire

Beautiful picture, Heidi.....although at this point of the winter (it is supposed to be 20 below tonight with a 40 below wind chill), if someone wanted to post some beach pictures I would like them better! Winking

Did one of Cheryl's Combat DVDs....The Ultimate Warrior Workout. It was pretty hard even doing the modifications, but fun and had a beautiful cool down at the end.

Thank you all for the warm welcome. Today I did gentle yoga for 15-20 minutes then walked (slowly) on the treadmill for 30 minutes. It feels good to start being more active. I hope everyone has a good weekend.

I have been on vacation so I am way behind - six pages behind. I will have to catch up later. I did really well with my exercise on my vacation though. We were on a cruise and it turned out to be very easy to get in plenty of steps and walking both on and off the boat. They had a track on one deck so I walked every day at sea, and we took the stairs instead of the elevator all day. It was very easy to get in 12,000 to 14,000 steps per day, and of course lots of sightseeing on land. Now since I got home I have been a slack for three days as I try to catch up on errands and work. Tomorrow I'm going to get back on schedule.

I agree with Ruth! Let's see some beach pictures. (I am currently watching more snow fall)

I did 4.5 miles on the treadmill this morning. 2.5 of it was jogging. Longest I have lasted jogging on the treadmill so far.

Blew off housework to go to indoor track.  Nice and warm in there even if scented by sweaty boys playing basketball in the courts inside the oval track.  Walked 45 mins to side A of Road Trip '95 mix tape.  Did the grocery shopping then came home and took a nice long nap.

Wonderland & Mel, I am coming to NC for sure in April for MerleFest. ThumbsUp

    Beautiful picture Heidihill.

    Welcome to all the newcomers.

Yesterday's run was full of milestones for me. For the first time since before my 5th chemo, I was able to get back to 3 miles. And, for the first time since I started chemo I was able to run up the hill on my route (I live in a canyon) on all five laps, AND, I ran a sub 10 min mile. I was thrilled despite the fact that this time last year I was running the Mercedes marathon and usually kept an 8:30 - 9:00 min pace on my runs.

Today will be another run and Pilates. Stay strong sculpted sisters

congratulations,LARock, that is great news! You must be psyched about your progress.

Walked 60 min on the treadmill. It is finally in the upper thirties out but way too snowy and icy to chance doing it outside.

Congrats LARock on reaching those milestones!

This is my post # 30,000 Shocked wanted to spend it here logging today's exercise: 20 mins AM yoga and 45 mins walking at indoor track to side B of that mix tape.  Trying to remember what road trip I took in 1995 ...

Yeah, LARock! Just remember those marathoners have got it easy. They aren't doing chemo and kickin cancer's butt!

Badger your post made me chuckle because I realized my 95 trip was Las Vegas, and my son was born 9 months later, hee hee. Top that one! i can't remember what songs we were listening to but I do remember my beautiful dress I can't fit into!

It is cold here again after a one day break, and dangerous windchill warning for tonight, but the sunshine was calling my name more than the mall walking. I bundled up and walked my dog for 24 minutes, then I decided hey, that wasn't so bad so I drove the couple of miles to the lake and walked more for a total of 55 minutes.

Welcome to all who are new here, and stay warm, all of you facing all that snow! We got a little bit of rain today and I'm hoping we get some more. I walked about a mile and a half today.

Cassiecat, we are getting a good downpour here in Torrance, CA!! Hubby and I took a walk to the mall and back before the rain started! I sure miss the seasons! I am from the MidWest and lived in Pittsburgh for many years, but I do appreciate being able to walk outside pretty much all year long!! Hope everyone is staying warm and safe east of us!!

Will be headed to Arizona and Nevada this week, and hope to get lots of walking and some hiking!

Welcome to the newcomers. This is a great group with plenty of motivation.

Badger, sounds like you will have a hard job topping Twohobbies 1995 trip......LOL. Hey Twohobbies, where was your cruise to and which cruise line? I am counting down to my Caribbean cruise in June...

My exercise yesterday was lifting and passing rolls of insulation to DH as he was putting it in my MIL' s attic. Lots of lifting and overhead arm exercise. Today's exercise was an hour of shovel and sculpt before running out to the grocery store and starting the laundry.

Time to curl up with a good book and enjoy the rest of the evening. Happy Sunday all.

I spent some time on the treadmill & a FIRM toning DVD. It is so cold here that I did the very unusual thing of not leaving my house all day!
