I love to travel & hate to pack too!!!

Cleaned house, went for a walk, had coffee with my old lady friends at the nursing home, did one million errands, went over to a friend's house to walk & hang out with her dog for awhile (she is out of town on a long day trip), and am now sitting at home with my foot up doing nothing (at last). Ahh......

Beautiful post, Ruthbru! I love that!

I think I am the opposite...have no trouble with the packing, but am not fond of traveling! I have to really psyche myself up for it - have a great time once I do it, but really am a homebody!

4/18- spent a couple hours at the gym today (after doing lots of yard work and garage decluttering too!) I did 50 min of resistance/abs followed by 25 laps and then a soak in the hot tub (ahh...) I am pooped!

Ruth, I loved the post about beautiful people. Stealing that!

Ruth, love the owls and love the post!

Aurora - I was thinking of you today and hope you got in front of the pain.

Kat: big hug and hope your day got better. Thinking of you!

Cassie hope the migraine has went away. It is interesting I suffered from debilitating migraines since I was a child and on prescription pills. Since my bc diagnosis I gave not had a single migraine which is new for me as I have lived with them all my life. I have asked the doc's about this change and they have no answers. I just hope they stay away. My fingers are crossed.

35 mins on treadmill and did some organizing in craft room. I hit 11k+ steps today and still have 4 hours left in the day -- Yay! I am on a mission to improve this fatigue, yet listen to my body for rest.

    Good night my exercise partners.

Did the Tulip Pedal today. Few tulips, but the most glorious day. Best of all, much fitter than I suspected so will have no problem at all with my planned summer rides. Was just fine after the 40 miles. Right now, cooking up the glories of the Skagit Valley. A steak, plus potatoes and asparagus. Augmenting with sweet potatoes, and rhubarb from just south of Seattle. Wine is a present, and my verdict is that while splendid, I would go with a Chateau Neuf de Pape or Hermitage for those $$$$.

Lunch was a roadside stop where I had crab and shrimp (not prawn) chowder. Just magical. - Claire

Lovely quote Ruth. Kat hope you are feeling better. Badger are you driving to NC?  Ladyb I used to suffer from headaches and when I went on Femara I had to take blood pressure medication and my headaches stopped completely, funnily enough I had a headache last week but our barometric pressure had dropped and it affected me.

This morning did Body Combat then off to another gym and did Body Flow (Balance to you LB) I'm not good at yoga but I did enjoy myself this morning  and to top off the morning, while we were waiting to go into the class the police had been called, the class before ours you have to have a ticket to get in and I guess this woman had pushed the girl collecting tickets as she didn't have one, they hauled her out of the class and spent the good part of an hour with her .... who said life at a gym isn't excitingSillyHeart

More excitement at your gym than mine Cheryl. Clarie, is there a competitive aspect to your long cycling, such as age category and times? Can imagine you do well in both. Cassie, hope today is better and nice to read everyone out enjoying spring weather.

Overcast drive to early morning yoga class that included dodging cyclists on 10 mile time trials down the A20. My day will be spent shifting written course work, studying for exams and laundry. Glad I got in some exercise and a dog walk later yet overall, a quiet Sunday on the homefront .

Woke up a bit sore from the excercise yesterday, but it was worth it!

Ok so packing/pushing/lifting boxes is not enough exercise as I see the pounds creeping back (doesn't help to just eat anything on the fly also) so need to get back to "real" exercise.

I also hate packing. Usually pack way too much. Now I have a problem. Will be living out of a suitcase for 11-12 weeks after house closes so need:to: 1) pack clothes for work as will have about 5 weeks after sale until retirement kicks in 2) pack clothes for CA dream trip 3) pack clothes for about 6 weeks of a road trip with my sister, NJ to FL with stops in MD, NC, SC, and GA before reaching FL. This will be interesting.

Off to church. Later my sculpted friends.

The rides I do are not competitive other than in the sense of finishing them. You wouldn't want this one to be competitive either as a couple of spots with tons of tourists as in going by the Roozengard where there were gorgeous tulips and hoards of viewers. More than once I stopped to take a look at the mountains in the distance. Usually, they would be obscured by clouds and fog.

I did not do the 60 mile route, although would love to sometime. But think the more challenging ride is in a couple of weeks. That one will make me fit for summer. Similar area, but a tad further north. Great fun.

I did get a measure of my general fitness level when visiting the Ladies post ride. A crowd in there who had done the 20 mile route. They were complaining about being sore. I felt just fine Winking - Claire

patoo, now THAT is a packing challenge.  Maybe just pack your favorite clothes and keep washing them.  Heck with work, wear jeans!

Cheryl, yes we're driving.  Google map says 860 miles (13 hours) so we'll head south Tues pm and see how far we get then stop for a hotel room that night.  Arr Weds and set up camp then the festival starts Thurs.  We'll head north Sun pm after the last act, stop somewhere for the night, and get home Mon.  Can't wait!

Got out for a walk early, town was peaceful & still.  The only sounds were the wind, the birds & my footfall.

Ruth, loved the post and the quote from EKR.  Hope everyone has a good day!  ♥ to all

Thumbs up to those of you engaging in trips, I'm in the "love traveling, hate packing" side of the issue. As far as exercise I don't do anything except when I go to they once a week but I like reading your posts all week long. Angie, thanks for asking about the pain, I'm staying ahead of it and it is ok during the day, at night it's difficult to change positions in bed but I am able to fall asleep after about a half hour. Much improved, thanks for asking,

Take care everyone. Patoo, praying for you to get through the moving and settled in your new temporary home. As far as the packing for traveling if you have enough clothes, how about packing three different suitcases?

I walked 25 minutes today and then a half hour more of weeding and picking up branches out of the back flower beds. Who needs crossfit when you have my yard.

I love reading about everyone's various activities. It's great to be among such healthful ladies. :)

I walked with DH about a mile or so. We spent a good part of the day helping to drive DD and other classmates off to go backpacking for 6 days with school. She'll be getting in LOTS of steps and activity this week. ;) I'm a bit envious of her adventure.

Aurora, what a great idea about packing three suitcases....that sounds like a genius solution to me!!

Just got done with the 45 minute Denise Austin DVD Body Makeover Mix, which I did just so I'd have something to report.....was NOT in the mood!

badger, Jeans, not allowed at work, denim in any color. Also no sneakers or flip-flops, t-shirts, halter tops, sweats, etc.. So they will see the same couple pairs of black slacks and a few tops for the duration. Maybe a maxi dress or two which will work for the job, CA and travelling. The CA clothes will work for the road trip as well so it will all come together and yes, packing detergent pods though I don't like to do laundry when travelling.

Took hour and half walk this afternoon then more packing, up and down stairs according to fitbit 13 flights today..

    Night sculpted friends.

    Ruth- I loved your poem!

I am with those who don't like packing. I always end up with too much stuff.

It was another beautiful day here. I am definitely getting my Vitamin D. I did some yoga outside. The rest I have taken off from running has helped my hip; I was able to do the lunge pose for the first time in a week. Hopeful to add some walking back in this week.

Vacation is over so back to school in the morning. We are expecting rain. That will make it a little easier.

Quick post after a busy weekend. Yesterday I took a two mile run and did some weeding of flower beds before running the usual errands. Undid all my exercise yesterday today at a bridal shower luncheon for my nephew's soon to be wife. Great day with fun and family. Ranks right up there with quiet household days Lilacblue.

Hope everyone had a great weekend. Sleep well.

I walk daily.....my goal is 15K steps/day. I don't enjoy the gym or any exercise equipment. But I do love walking, especially walking outside. it is a de-stressor for me. I'm closing in on my 2nd million steps for 2015. Will achieve it before the months end.

Good morning! Everyone has been so active, and it's a good motivator. Sat was such a bad day for me, and your notes helped me so much--thank you for your support and kindness. I think one of the problems was that my cough/cold med may have interacted with Tamoxifen? Hip is much better. Will do half hour walk this morning. No yoga tonight as having a little open house of my jewelry! Very excited for that.

    Have a great day!

Had my first appointment with a Restorative Exercise Specialist and I think this is gonna help a lot. I was already out of balance and the surgery, seromas and now rads have made it worse, not to mention the stress and not being able to swim. I'm gonna freeze my gym membership for a while and focus on getting aligned and doing lots of walking, getting used to my Vibrums again. I am learning how being correctly aligned has a big impact on bone density too, which is gonna be key once the AI's start. Hard to afford the sessions but I'm gonna do every other week and practice daily...glad to have a plan:)

Patoo, your clothes dilemma reminded me of this article I read a while ago. People experimented with wearing the same clothes over and over and not only did no one mind, they didn't notice! So someone might have two pair of black pants, three shirts and just wear what's clean. Go for it.

I'm taking a day off. Its misty and cool here and I exercised a lot last week so I think I can afford it. Hopefully it won't be like this all week.

I went yoga this morning & felt very achy & out of balance, but it wasn't until I tried to drink a cup of coffee afterwards & couldn't choke it down, that I knew I had a touch of something. Sick I've spent the rest of the day in bed sleeping & drinking water. I better be okay by tomorrow or they'll need a sub for the sub! The good news is that I should be well rested & a little lighter on the scale!
