Lets Post our Daily Exercise

Ok, wanted a rest day but had a big lunch so had to postpone it (yes, there was chips and salsa involved). Took it easy though. Brisk 3-mile walk, few minutes upper body weights, and few minutes Pilates.
Ruth, do you have the Fitbit Charge or the Charge HR? I'm putting one on my Mother's Day list 😀

Ah Jazzy, I will tell the cats you thought they looked like kittens. They will be THRILLED! They actually turn 16 this summer. We adopted them many years ago when they were half-kitten cellmates at the Humane Society (or I should say they adopted us!).

Heidihill, you inspire me. My current daily step goal is 10k which I see you regularly beating. Way to go!
Cheryl, hope your eye feels better soon.
Wonderland, you had a full day! Hoping to put my garden in this coming weekend.
My exercise today was bootcamp tonight.

Hiked stairs with boxes all day....I'm pooped!

I didn't quite make my 10,000 steps; but I did pretty well. I took 2 walks, not brisk.

Wow Heidi what a great accomplishment, congratulations. Darn it, I lost my Fitbit today, I had it on when I took the dogs for a walk at lunchtime, then when I was leaving work I meant to retrace my steps but I was in a hurry as I had to make a delivery before I met up with my carpool so I forgot, hopefully I'll find it tomorrow if not I'll get a new one, I've had mine a long time and it was acting up, it had reset itself on east coast ime
Did Body Pump and Body Jam tonight

A short walk and just a little over 5k steps today. I came home and slept after work I was pooped. I need those voices saying go Angie go! Getting us to the work days again.
Cheryl, I was lost when I missed placed my Fitbit.....
. My goal is still 10k steps want to get were I hit the goal more constantly through the week. Dunesleeper, I have not set up any challenges. I would be game to participate. Would be another source of inspiration to move. I would definitly be at the low end of the challenge..lol

I'm not sure if it's really an accomplishment to be in the top 0.4% or if that just means I have an old phone. As in I've accumulated lots of mileage on an old car. Anyway I only had about 5,000 steps yesterday, not including 40 minutes of Zumba. I've already gone down 22 places in the rankings in one day. I'm going to have to find a way to count all my steps or I may lose my headstart advantage.
Dune, great job! Doing a challenge sounds like fun. Go, Angie, go! Hope your eyes are better, Cheryl.

Here we are, walking in the rain at the golf course. I'm subbing 8th grade again this afternoon. Wish me luck!

That's it! You ladies have convinced me. I'm going Fitbit shopping.
Cute pic Ruth. Looks like a fun bunch of gals!

I have to report the death of my poor Fitbit. I found it in the driveway of my office right in the path of cars and trucks coming and going and of course it had been run over - more than once by the looks of it so guess I'm Fitbit shopping too Meljo

Did Sh'bam this morning, dancing always makes me happy and sweaty......

A really nice rainy day (it hasn't rained all spring.....much needed and wonderful!). I'm glad to report the gloomy weather seemed to send the 8th graders into a trance, so it was a peaceful afternoon at the school. Zumba & yoga tonight.

Sorry about your Fitbit, Cheryl.
Glad your subbing was peaceful, Ruth. Pretty picture and glad it rained for you.
Go Angie Go!
Hi All. I push mowed for 2 hours and then later fast walked/ran at the park.

Sorry to hear about your fitbit Cheryl. Happy shopping,!
Stormy day today so no exafter work. Will get back on course tomorrow. Stay safe for all in the path of the storms.

Short walk today but no formal exercise. The walk gave me energy to push through the day and get dinner on when I got home. I am exhausted and hope that equates to a better nights sleep as last night - insomnia. Glad exercise gives us energy!
Thanks for the inspiration ladies helped me push through a walk today.

Oh rain, that sounds wonderful they say we are supposed to get some tomorrow but I'll believe it when I see it.
Body Combat tonight

Thanks for the laugh Cheryl about the death of your fitbit. I've been spending hours in any free studio at my gym to practice for this weekend and pretty much got the cues and timing down, it's perfecting technique plus, the kiwi chat- scripted lines for each move that feels somewhat forced..I mean, I don't normally say "now we are going to train our backs, butts and bits". What are bits? Regardless, I'm saying it as we roll up to bridge pose on an inhale.
So that is me, focused on not trying to make a fool of myself this weekend, perfecting two tracks, one 8:03 and other 6:36 minutes long and gearing up to get through two days of 8 hours constant Les Mills energized motivation; akin to the Disneylandish' positive attitude. I'm also trying to figure out what to take to eat for lunch and snacks to take and have bars and gel packs at the ready. Then this negative head chatter goes on in the background, " you will be the oldest one there, these women can run rings around you, blah, blah, blah..." So I looked up oldest Les Mill instructor and found this:http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2308108/If-white-haired-lady-76-year-old-fitness-instructor-proves-age-just-number.html
So there you go, 76 and going strong-gives this 59 year old hope!

Cheryl, what an awful end!
LB, could this be related to loving someone to bits? Good luck this weekend. You are an inspiration.
Finally, no PT, doctor's or acupuncture appt. Will get out on my bike a bit,

LB, I love the 76 year old instructor with 'brilliant knees'! Get the negative chatter out of your head. You will be the most awesome person there, really you will be. It's easy to try something new when you are 28....it's when you are our age and still climbing out on the limb, taking a chance.....now that is cool!
*a song we do it my cardio sculpt class that always 'gets' to me starts out first with a clock ticking, and then the lyrics ask, "What are you waiting for?" And really, we shouldn't be waiting for anything.....what we want to do/try/experience, we should do NOW!
Now, I will get going & head to that class, zumba tonight. Tomorrow will probably be an off day because I am subbing all day & going to a baseball game. Natsfan, if you are reading this; after a slow start, the Twins are doing great, winning 6 of their last 7 games. Last night, their new rookie from Puerto Rico hit a homeroom on the first pitch of his first at bat in the majors. His whole family was there and they were going crazy with happiness. I thought they were going to leap from the stands and on to the field! So fun!!!!!!

LilacBlue.....congrats on moving forward. I think that being 59 is a plus. Other women will see that it's possible to be fit past the age of 34. I know this from the cosmetics market research studies I worked on. Women 40 and older find an older woman far more credible at the sales counter than a 20-something.
The most gorgeous early morning here with just the outlines of the Cascade Mountains showing in the mist.
Odd week as my body is readjusting to having estrogen once again. I think it will take another week or so to stabelize. I do know that my head is clearer in the early AM, but this could be because I am sleeping more soundly too. Did a run last night and have been doing my other exercises as well. It should be a gorgeous day for the Metric Century ride I am planning for Saturday.
This will get my hide in gear for the rest of the summer rides. I feel untrained, but did just fine with the Tulip Pedal a couple of weeks ago. Suspect I am just fine. I will do a warm-up ride on Friday.
A full day awaits me..... - Claire

Danced in the kitchen to music while I did dishes today and peeled, cooked and mashed taters and made a salad to go with dinner.

Kindergarten, it's the end of the year so people are trying to use their personal days, AND the weather gives us such a short spring they have to squeeze all the spring sports into a really small time frame....so lots of coaches need subs as well. One of the middle school teachers is in my Zumba class & I was pretty excited tonight when she told me tomorrow is the 'Student Council Teacher Appreciation Lunch'.....famous for the wide variety and great amounts of food.....I definitely picked the right day to sub....of course, I might fall asleep while teaching in the afternoon!

LB, us baby boomers need someone our age to motivate us and be a role model. You show those youngsters how its done!
And Heidi, I would be proud to be in that top percent! I think it means you are doing it consistently as well as having done it for a long time. Not many are consistent!
I'm not checking in much during the week as I'm very busy at work. Everyone has been very active. I was 4 pages behind I think! I have been really sore after the first bike riding and gardening of the season. I hope next time will be easier. Aspirin every single night! I did manage to get in some walks: 23 minutes Tuesday, 30 yesterday evening and 30 tonight.

Bummer about the Fitbit, Cheryl.
Sort of makes you feel like you 'lost' the day's exercise, doesn't it?Bragging rights, here - worked out yesterday before heading to the hospital for surgery, ended the day with 11K + steps.
Did 65 minutes (walking) on the treadmill this afternoon.
Still cranky and depressed but at least my pedometer is happy.

Lilacblue, personally I bet you could run circles around the younger generation!!! And I think it is fabulous that you are showing women that age should not be matter.
Went to bootcamp today after work. Really ready for the weekend as I want to play in the dirt! Plan to put my vegetable garden in over the weekend. I like the abundance of fresh veggies that I know are organic...LOL
Good night all.

5/7- 80 min yoga class tonight at the gym. Tomorrow is my final day of personal training (boo hoo!)

LB: Good luck this weekend! I'm pretty sure bits are female body parts "down there."
Have fun with that!M0mmy: Keep dancing!
Hopeful: What surgery did you have? Whatever you had, I hope all went well.
Odie: Have a great playing in the dirt this weekend! We planted our garden last week.
Ruth: Enjoy eating tomorrow! You deserve it.
Hi All! Fast walked/ran this evening. It was 83 degrees but a nice breeze was blowing.

No formal exercise today. Not a good week for exercise. I did walk around the office today to ensure I "moved" and to get 6K steps I walked around the house.
M0mmy, next time I will dance around the house instead of walk much more fun.

Hopeful, you go! Hope your surgery went well.
Heidi, awesome!

LB you will be just fine you will give those young uns a real run for the money and what a great article, Body Attack is the hardest program and look at her tuck jumps, very impressive - the 30 minute HIIT format they talk of in the article is Grit. I spoke to my Body Jam instructor tonight as she is a master trainer and she said the main thing is to know your choreography she said they'll coach you on the talking and she said take every piece of information they've sent you. Awww sorry Jazzy it's sad when we lose the trainers we've come to care for. Odie have fun planting your garden.
Tonight new Body Jam another taxing night for the brain but great for the soul
