Wow!! You look great on that pole Ms.CHEVY! On our way home from Yellowstone and got stuck in standstill traffic near Reno, Nevada in 90+degree heat for 1&1/2 hours! This was what caused the jam

I don't believe the driver was hurt according to traffic report...thank God!!

Need to use restroom now and toilet seems so far away. Hope we find one soon

Loveroflife- holy crap, how could anyone survive that? Please be safe. Men have it easier when it comes to pee-ing in certain situations.
Someone said it is 100 plus satan degrees here. I believe that!

This pooch may have the right idea. I'd need shade

Wow, that's AWful Loverly! Don't you just hate to see the left-overs of something like that?
It's only 78 right here now! That's about perfect..... Be CAREful Loverly....
Yes Jazzy, men DO have it more convenient... Ha! I told DH I am NOT pulling over for you to get out.... So from then on, we carry a plasic one of those things, under the seat..... Just in case..... They must have a bladder the size of a dime!

as promised, my view from my seat in the sewing room.

It's really that blue here. By the lake, it's 78 here

Alrighty only 7 pages behind or so. Must keep up with this. DH has started working regular day shift so getting up earlier and going to bed earlier. Bummer. I am a real nightowl. Sleep best from about 4 am on. Geesh. Good thing I have no where to be this week. Plumber due out Friday to replace the fading garbage disposal. Marlana I did get what I think is a bigger size. I tend to just wash leftover plate bits down it, not heavy duty stuff. 5/8 hp motor I think. DH picked it out of Lowe's online per reviews of it. I need to call AC man to get a checkup on it for Friday too when DH is off.
Sassy - type in "people of WalMart" to see assorted weirdos. It's an actual website titled that. About testing if your phone is working. Does you pharmacy have call in refills? Just dial it and hang up. Or find a call in time/temperature. Banks used to have them.
Rose - we don't want you morphing into something normal. We like you just the way you are.
Too funny Marlana. Idiocracy is one of my DH and DD's favorite movies. I've seen it and it's funny. I lean more toward soft romantic comedies, Tom Hanks, Hugh Grant and then the really old ones Cary Grant types.
Jazzy - love the steel drum vid. Playing as I type
Tang - happy anniversary. Hope you missed all that flooding yesterday. We had a minor pour down mid afternoon but nuttin like y'all got. TS Bill dumped 6.6" on us but again not near what the 2 counties north of us had.
Patty - missing you. Hope the break is good. (((Hugs)))
When I was doing hospice nursing I had plenty of patients who called 911 for help getting up. I did it myself one time. Big guy, no way was I able to get him up off floor. Not hurt but had to wait for EMS. Small town, gotta love them. But I think it was a paid staff, not volunteer. Speaking of which our town has come up in the world. We have full time paid fire dept weekdays, still volunteer nights and weekends. One of the "help I've fallen" ads says the sensor can tell if you have fallen and call by itself. Hmm, what it you're sleeping? Like Rosie's GM.
Susan - sounds like you had a wonderful visit with your daughter. I'm determined to catch up tonight.
Chevy - hope Rosie's biopsy is nothing. Will be praying for her and you as you accompany her.
Wow Smaarty - that is beeeutiful. Is this another sewing retreat?
OK I made it thru. Hope to keep up better. I really only post on here and the cooking thread which BTW I am even further behind on. See y'all tomorrow.

Well ladies, did my post kill this thread or what?

Luv- not at all! I am getting home from an early morning apt to the dentist to get the crown thing taken care of. Something about 7 a.m. and the sound of a drill is not a good combination, but it was not bad, and we were done in an hour! I was just really numb all the way up to my eyeball. Today is a soft food day. Hey, maybe I will loose some weight?
Oh and on the subject of the steel drum, our little troupe is sounding really good! I want to buy a steel drum and the teacher bought one last night for sale, but too expensive ($800). I have seen them in the music stores for less and think if I buy one, it will be in the couple hundred dollar range. I have done that with every instruments I have played, start with a cheaper one and bought better instruments through time. There is a nearby music store I will visit this summer to see if they still have them.
0 -
Jazzy - you might try Craigslist. I don't buy much but I did buy hay several years ago from a guy I found on there. With the music scene around there you might find one.
Yup dentists. DH has gone this morning for a cleaning and start the new crown that endodontist could not save 2 weeks ago. Thank goodness insurance even though he was not a preferred provider paid more than office estimated. WooHoo getting a Visa refund which will promptly be applied to our balance. He went one time to our old dentist. She numbed him so much for an upper crown that he had trouble blinking for several hours.
Trying to get kitchen in some order for plumber on Friday. I've been neglecting house chores for months and spent yesterday throwing out lots of stuff for trash day today. DH was impressed that you could see kitchen counters instead of "stuff".

Smarty so do i assume you go to bed the same time as your husband. jazzy well that sucks how did they get your information that I asked you that yet. Chevy you're too funny. Took my pain meds I take 45 milligrams of morphine at 12 o'clock noon at 12 o'clock midnight show in saving now have to go to my granddaughters recital tonight so maybe I'll post a picture I don't post a lot of pictures because I think they're annoying I like looking at him but not not an overabundance of himself I will sitting you with an over abundance of my grandchildren one or two it alright have a good one I'll be back

Blondie- I expect it came through the BSBC data breach that was all over the news 6 months ago. I have been on and off BSBC for insurance for years. There have been other data breaches with stores but that would be credit card stuff. They have to have your SSN plus some other info to be able to apply for credit in your name. I hate cyber thieves and they are everywhere now. Fraud alert is protecting me for now, probably will need to do a hard freeze on all the credit.
You leaving for FL next week? I think I saw something about July 2nd? Whoot whoot!
0 -
We have BCBS too thru DH's work but not Anthem. I should probably get DH to run our credit report again. The Discover stuff Chevy asked about turned out to be DH's doing. He put his credit card in for gas purchase and it wanted him to check with clerk. Cancelled that purchase and tried again with no glitch. We put all gas on Discover just to keep track of it and get reward money. When I was driving hospice we had $500+ gas bills though I did get some mileage reimbursement and that was all to/from work, no trip or fun stuff. I think he did one of the 3 credit reporting agencies just b4 Christmas when we were thinking of buying a car. Talked ourselves out of it again. Hopefully our 2.5 vehicles - I'll explain - will last us until DH retires in 2.5 years and we can go to just one. The 0.5 vehicle is an old truck, runs OK, would not trust it greatly for reliability like taking it out of area but it IS a Ford F-150. Has a topper on it so we keep it for moving hay. Insurance and tags are the only expense. It is not worth anything really 1999 model I think. Difficult to get it to switch AC/heat. Basic radio, roll up windows, textured vinyl floorboard. DH calls it a "contractor special" lol. He drives it to work about every 3 weeks just to keep battery charged up.I hope fingers crossed I can talk him into keeping it IF it is still in decent shape. I absolutely hate being stranded at home worrying about how to get somewhere. Church folks would help out in a pinch but it prob. wouldn't be that kind of a problem, more like I want to go somewhere and boohoo no car.

Where is the Chevster today???

Jazzy, first, I found this..... This is much cheaper at Amazon.... so check it out!

I've been painting our fence! Almost finished with one side of it.... I'm surprised at how nice it looks now.... A little darker, but I don't care.... It is 104 our on our Patio, so time to come in.... I'll do more in the morning....Just a little every day.... And then same with the house.... Just paint when it's cooler and in the shade....
Janie coming home tomorrow from Orlando.... Been a pain going over almost every day, to feed the cats, and clean after them, but the next-door neighbor is really helping out also! And THEN one time I went there alone, and could NOT find the key to get in..... AND her gate was locked, so I could not get her "spare" key! I saw some guy in the parking lot, and HE was coming to help me get in the locked gate, but we couldn't!
So then RICK her neighbor came out, and saved the day! Used HIS key, and found MINE that I left on her table! Damn! Neither one of us could find her spare key... And we unlocked her gate. I could not figure out HOW to climb over her fence, to find that key.... But THANK DOG the neighbor saved the day....
One of her cats "attacked" poor friend Carol, who was supposed to come every day.... I mean Trini is just a little bitch when she wants to be! Tried to attack her leg, and jump on her back when she cleaned the cat-box.... I just cracked up, and told her not to worry, that I would go over every day, since she was such a scaredy-cat....
Don't know why Trini has it IN for her.... She has a dog, but he doesn't come with her.... Maybe she SHOULD have brought him.... Ha! She doesn't get all fiesty when she goes over and Janie is home.... Talk about a "wild-cat!" Yowsers!Lilgoats.... DH HAS a car, an 89 Mercury Topaz, that still runs.... Hah! He never drives it though.... He USED to to go meet his Brother once a month, but I talked him into having his Brother come get HIM to go get their damn beer, at trailer-sales, then DH doesn't have to deliver it TO him!
Besides, HE has a truck! If he wants the beer, He can go get it himself! I ain't gonna go load up MY new car with HIS beer, and bring it home, and then DH put it in HIS old car, and deliver that 6 cases to his stupid Brother!
So what I mean is, DH doesn't have a reason to drive his car now.... He just tells ME how to drive MY car.... and where to park, and "watch those pot-holes" and blah-blah..... And SOMEtimes I even listen.....

And wouldn't you love a bull-horn that blared THIS?
0 -
Chevy- yes, I am eyeing the red one. If they have one for the same price here in town, I will buy it from them though (owner is a music friend and would rather put the money in his pocket). Those drums that are over $1000 on Amazon are what we are playing. Who knew?
Luv- I have something called Credit Karma where you can get a credit report and FICO score all the time. The weekend before the first call, I got a message from them that there was a "hard inquiry" from Capital One. I did not even pay attention to it, because Cap One is always sending me stuff to do balance transfers, etc. (I pay my cards off every month).
What I did NOT know is a "hard" inquiry means they are actually doing so to give you some kind of requested credit. I got the call the day later about someone trying to open a card. Fortunately, it triggered a fraud alert on it's own. Now with the fraud alert on all three credit agencies, any requests for credit have to come to me for approval. That allows me to say no to these attempts.
Eventually they will move on (but they may come back.....)

Jazzy.... YES! Capitol One told me that someone was trying to open a credit line in my name, with my SS# and all of my information! This was after the identity theft, and all I had to do to clear things up!
All someone has to do is have YOUR information.... and open up a credit line, with your name, address, phone number, AND social. Then they can charge what they want, and YOU get the bill. So be sure you open all those "advertisements" and "cards" you get in the mail from banking institutions, and credit-card companies....
I carry a paper around with info from the Police Dept. and the Identity theft, with MY picture... Just in case I am stopped, and someone else is still using my Identity. Don't know if they ever caught the people that did this....

Chevy, Thanks, sounds like a great B-day gift for my Nephews two little kids
If I combined their B-days and Christmas it'll cover the whole thing. Did you see that one that is labeled and color coded?Littlegoats Do you ever get over to Warm & Fuzzies. Lot's of laughs.............

Chevy- I shred all those paper offers I get in the mail, and have been for a long time. Between the insurance companies, Fed gov breach, etc., my VP cybersecurity friend says the data is out there now, just be ready to respond.
Most healthcare orgs will require a photo ID now to ensure you are who you say you are as medical identity theft is getting bigger too. People get your insurance info and try to get healthcare in your name. I have heard those horror stories too.
The unfortunate reality these days is that your personal data is really not that protected on line. Your social, medical history, etc. are all pretty vulnerable. We traded convenience for privacy. I work in IT and cyber security is becoming a huge business.

And you betcha I check my insurance claims at least weekly even if I'm not expecting anything.
I've become paranoid. Nothing with my address on it goes in the trash. DH thinks I'm nuts but we have a "local" co doing our garbage pickup now. I have no doubt it goes straight to the landfill but it is not in one of those giant "crusher" garbage trucks. So all labels get ripped off everything. I pile until I can't get anymore in then I have a great shredding session.

goats--when I actually go back to work after this round of chemo, I'm switching to a 2pm-2am shift. That's about as early a "day shift" as I can handle. I haven't worked a dawn shift since 1997 because I don't function well before noon.
I'm reading and lurking--this round has really kicked my rear end and I still have 2 more to go. I think part of that is because of the sore throat and acid stomach, I'm not eating very much. Lunch today was a snack pack of tapioca pudding and 2 pieces of bacon.

Sassy - Warm and Fuzzy is in my favorites. I just never get to it. I just don't seem to be getting much done. However, I did take the oooo so gross dog crate (she's crated at night) out and washed it out with Mr. Clean. DH says he will bathe dog when he gets home. Not counting on that but at least one step forward.
Have had the strangest thing today. Rash across bridge of nose and cheeks/chin a little itchy. I NEVER react to anything. Well yes the mosquito bite, ant bite but I can use any kind of makeup and not affected. Colored my hair for years. Did buy a new concealer from Ulta but I use all kinds of stuff without any problems. Not sure what has done this. I took my usual Claritin this morning but know that's not really an antihistamine. Benadryl and I do not get along. I might start pacing or raving. Sometimes it does make me sleepy but usually I have the opposite reaction. Not particularly worse after getting hot/sweaty outside. Found it this morning when I went to wash eyedrop goop off. Hmm about to go get in the shower.

Marlanab- I am eating snack pack too for dental work today. Love pudding when you are not able to eat as much.
Sorry chemo is being tough on you. Feel better.

Sorry Marlana, posted mine b4 I read yours. Hope you are treating yourself gently. Tapioca and bacon sounds pretty good. I have to force myself to go to bed early. I've never been a morning person. First shift I worked out of nursing school was 11p-7a. I could not sleep on my nights off. I spent lots of time with VHS tapes and counted cross stitch. I can still see Annie esp. is one I remember and I get flashbacks lol.

Littlegoats, it sounds like it was there before the crate cleaning? Unless you did the crate cleaning before washing eye goop off. But eye goop makes it hard to open your eyes. so, surmising that's the first thing you do in the morning. The new concealer, then becomes the primary suspect LOL. Did you wear it in the last 24 hours? Did you wash it off before bed? If so, and if not. Change linens, don't wear the same jammies(?), wash face with usual soap, and don't use consealer for 48 hours after rash is completely gone........I love W&F's too...I asked Julie to come here, but the only, only place she posts is W&F's. Have you noticed how many cat pics there are and cat people? I didn't want to post there, but there was a study about how people with cats do better with cancer. My thought was......can we garner any affect from seeing the cats. I would hazard a guess it translates to animals. They're was something about cancer and grand kids being a positive too. I read this really interesting study about mice and depression. It followed Pavlov condition. They put the male mice in a closed area with a female mouse. Somehow measured where the brain lit up. Then they flashed a light. Forget how long the conditioning was and or repeated. They separated the mice. Then they flashed the light and the depressive symptoms---a whole list--- disappeared and the same area of the brain lit up. oops, forget the final finding.....hmmm that's like forgetting a punch line.
marley sorry you are icky.......your chemo's seem to be going really fast, is it weekly? Just seems like you were saying there was 3 left. Glad you have stuck around. We are used to people floating in and out. I expect Frenchfrye back, but she's into heavy duty stuff right now. So,'s Loverly
Loverly, hootie hoo.
