BEAUTIFUL picture, SoCAl! I hope your bone stimulator does what it's supposed to you & you can get that arm back on track.
Hope you had a good trip home, Lilac. You are doing so awesome!!!!!
Patoo, you are always invited here, even if it isn't the 4th of July! Just be prepared for a mean game of croquet!

I did yoga, zumba & some extra weights. I know I will get the aerobics in (trying to out swim the sharks!), but it is the toning that tends to go by the wayside when I am on vacation. I ALMOST have my suitcase packed....kinda, sorta.

Hello ladies, I enjoy reading the trials and successes of getting our workouts in. I walked for about 25 minutes today before the rain started.

Safe journey hom LB. SoCalLisa I love the butterfly pics they have been glorious, hope you get to avoid the surgery, you really did a number in yourself. Ruth today I had to go out to the Nixon Library and while I was in the gift shop I came across a key chain that read WWND my brain immediately went Wednesday Walkers North Dakota I know that's not what it meant but it's funny the thoughts that flash through our mind. Penance hope you got all the things done you needed to get done.
Tonight went to Cardio Dance Party, the poor instructor pulled her calf muscle which is not good as she's getting married on Friday.0 -
WWND.....love it! And you already know what we'd do.....walk, talk, eat, repeat!

Did an hour of pilates, walked for 45 minutes (beautiful here......why I am going into hot, humid shark country?), and now am off to get a spray tan.....no more exercise for the day; too bad, after the tan you are not supposed to sweat for the rest of the day!

1 hour water aerobics then a little retail therapy (bought the cutest flip-flops). Tomorrow will pack for the mouintains.

Hi all, I did my third day in a row of walking 30 minutes as well as other minor activities. This afternoon I got all achey and had a moment wondering if arimadex, after 4 1/2 months, may be starting to give me some trouble? But I think maybe I'll take it easier tomorrow and see what's up. Any thoughts appreciated.

Here are some things to try: Make sure you have a couple pairs of good shoes with lots of support. Change up & don't wear the same shoe every day & AS SOON AS you feel the support waning, buy some new ones (even if they still look okay). Also vary your activities from day to day; don't do the exact same exercise routine two days in a row. Mix it up.

5 mile walk with my Dad..so good to see him!

Hi All, haven't posted in a while as the Tamoxifen SEs were having a day with me. But i did continue to push through with exercise as much as possible. Though my average daily steps dropped drastically. Hoping to up it and get back to the gym.

I have to say exercising through helped me with the AE side effects, I bought every type of guard there was, if my left wrist hurt I put a guard on if it was my right knee a guard went on and I just did what I could, I also remember that warmth helped if my hands hurt I put them in warm water and eventually the SEs completely diminished so I hope the same happens for you all.
Did Zumba tonight, and you'd all be very proud of me, I was called out by the instructor for my twerking ability, yes ladies I am 65 and I can twerk and apparently I can do it really well

You go get 'em, Cheryl!
The cats, who do NOT like suitcases & what they involve, got me up at 5 am with their meowing & stalking around the house. So I am ready to roll in plenty of time......next stop Minneapolis, then Raleigh, then the beach!
Here is something hysterical from Facebook. I thought that Lilac especially would get a kick out of it, and also Cheryl, who will totally applaud The Daily Tea Time!
A MESSAGE FROM THE QUEEN
To the citizens of the United States of America from Her Sovereign Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
In light of your failure in recent years to nominate competent candidates for President of the USA and thus to govern yourselves, we hereby give notice of the revocation of your independence, effective immediately. (You should look up 'revocation' in the Oxford English Dictionary.)
Her Sovereign Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will resume monarchical duties over all states, commonwealths, and territories (except North Dakota, which she does not fancy).
Your new Prime Minister, David Cameron, will appoint a Governor for America without the need for further elections.
Congress and the Senate will be disbanded. A questionnaire may be circulated next year to determine whether any of you noticed.
To aid in the transition to a British Crown dependency, the following rules are introduced with immediate effect:
1. The letter 'U' will be reinstated in words such as 'colour,' 'favour,' 'labour' and 'neighbour.' Likewise, you will learn to spell 'doughnut' without skipping half the letters, and the suffix '-ize' will be replaced by the suffix '-ise.' Generally, you will be expected to raise your vocabulary to acceptable levels. (look up 'vocabulary').
2. Using the same twenty-seven words interspersed with filler noises such as ''like' and 'you know' is an unacceptable and inefficient form of communication. There is no such thing as U.S. English. We will let Microsoft know on your behalf. The Microsoft spell-checker will be adjusted to take into account the reinstated letter 'u'' and the elimination of '-ize.'
3. July 4th will no longer be celebrated as a holiday.
4. You will learn to resolve personal issues without using guns, lawyers, or therapists. The fact that you need so many lawyers and therapists shows that you're not quite ready to be independent. Guns should only be used for shooting grouse. If you can't sort things out without suing someone or speaking to a therapist, then you're not ready to shoot grouse.
5. Therefore, you will no longer be allowed to own or carry anything more dangerous than a vegetable peeler. Although a permit will be required if you wish to carry a vegetable peeler in public.
6. All intersections will be replaced with roundabouts, and you will start driving on the left side with immediate effect. At the same time, you will go metric with immediate effect and without the benefit of conversion tables. Both roundabouts and metrication will help you understand the British sense of humour.
7. The former USA will adopt UK prices on petrol (which you have been calling gasoline) of roughly $10/US gallon. Get used to it.
8. You will learn to make real chips. Those things you call French fries are not real chips, and those things you insist on calling potato chips are properly called crisps. Real chips are thick cut, fried in animal fat, and dressed not with catsup but with vinegar.
9. The cold, tasteless stuff you insist on calling beer is not actually beer at all. Henceforth, only proper British Bitter will be referred to as beer, and European brews of known and accepted provenance will be referred to as Lager. South African beer is also acceptable, as they are pound for pound the greatest sporting nation on earth and it can only be due to the beer. They are also part of the British Commonwealth - see what it did for them. American brands will be referred to as Near-Frozen Gnat's Urine, so that all can be sold without risk of further confusion.
10. Hollywood will be required occasionally to cast English actors as good guys. Hollywood will also be required to cast English actors to play English characters. Watching Andie Macdowell attempt English dialect in Four Weddings and a Funeral was an experience akin to having one's ears removed with a cheese grater.
11. You will cease playing American football. There is only one kind of proper football; you call it soccer. Those of you brave enough will, in time, be allowed to play rugby (which has some similarities to American football, but does not involve stopping for a rest every twenty seconds or wearing full kevlar body armour like a bunch of nancies).
12. Further, you will stop playing baseball. It is not reasonable to host an event called the World Series for a game which is not played outside of America. Since only 2.1% of you are aware there is a world beyond your borders, your error is understandable. You will learn cricket, and we will let you face the South Africans first to take the sting out of their deliveries.
13. You must tell us who killed JFK. It's been driving us mad.
14. An internal revenue agent (i.e. tax collector) from Her Majesty's Government will be with you shortly to ensure the acquisition of all monies due (backdated to 1776).
15. Daily Tea Time begins promptly at 4 p.m. with proper cups, with saucers, and never mugs, with high quality biscuits (cookies) and cakes; plus strawberries (with cream) when in season.
God Save the Queen!
PS: Only share this with friends who have a good sense of humour (NOT humor)!

Agree on the tea, as love nothing better than a cream tea. Especially wonderful after a 10 mile walk.
5k run plus swim last night after work. Felt it afterwards, unlike the 60 miles of cycling I did the other day. But stronger and fitter for the Big Ride.
On the subject of sports, Redmond has both a cricket pitch and rugby field. Everyone is outside playing something with this glorious weather. It's a bit cooler now, so just delightful.
Think one final ride, or a ride and swim after work. I am so excited right now. In exactly 3 days, I will be cycling along Lake Washington on my way to Portland. I especially love the "congrats, only 190 miles to go" sign.
Life is great! - Claire

Had a great long weekend at the cabin - it had been over a month since we'd been there, and since they'd had 15+ inches of rain during that time, you can imagine how overgrown everything was. We did a lot of mowing, trimming, weeding, and hacking back of underbrush so got a great upper body workout. We did get out the morning of the 4th for a run, so I kept up with my C25K program.
A lot of the birds are fledging now so it was fun watching all the little ones try out their wings. There was a gang of 4 titmouse fledglings who were a riot. They kept swarming the feeders, squawking and tumbling all over as they tried to land. They were quite rowdy - the other birds just looked so disgusted when they kept having to move to get away from the gang's antics. They were like a bunch of kids who just got let out of school for the summer. We enjoyed them so much.
Got some kind of stomach bug Monday so have been feeling punk since then, but hopefully will get back to working out later this week.
Have fun with all your travels everyone!

ladyb1234 thanks for the invite here.
Introducing myself, I've been working out slowly since Feb when I could finally get on a treadmill after BMx. I also deal with a degenerated L4/L5 disk so I started at ground zero. Since Feb. I have up my exercise to 3-5 miles per day on treadmill or hiking. I also work out with the leg machines 3 week and do light arm weights. My back has improved immensely and I have regained most of my range of motion in shoulders and arm
I have been tracking daily steps since May, but finally bought a Fitbit Charge last week to up my game.
Today I walked/hiked 3.5 miles and 29 stairs so far. Fitbits r fun.

Welcome Scottie. You have joined a great group here. Sounds like you are on the right track. Keep it up and stay here to get and give encouragement.
Ruth, you are I are at least in the same state - NC. Leaving for the mountains (near Asheville) tomorrow for 2 weeks. Did shopping therapy again today (my sister is spending all my money!) and got a pair of Keen walking sandals and Sketchers sandals too. If I don't get frustrated with my tablet may try and post but if not, see ya in 2 weeks.

Lilac-congrats on your certification and safe travels.
Claire- I agree about the toe clips. I think I am taking them off. Good luck on your long ride!
Well, I fell again off my bike again. Same exact fall as the last time except this time was in Newport, RI in the middle of a busy intersection with tons of people around to witness it. So embarrassing. I am scraped up and bruised but I did manage to finish up a 16 mile ride. But I think the toe clips are not for me.
TwoHobbies- I hope you are recovering. No more injuries for us!
Sweetandspecial-I hope your BRCA results are negative. I am BRCA2+. I have daughters ages 20 and 23 who have not been tested yet and I understand your fear.
