Walked an hour with a friend this morning and then about .75 miles this afternoon, just to get out of the house. Feels good to be more active again!

Yesterday I rode my bike one hour. Planted a bush and weeded 45 minutes and walked the dog 15. Best sleep medicine there is! I slept like a log.

Good to see you are getting settled again Mary. Welcome back.

I heard that wading and shallow swimming are dangerous because the splashing attracts sharks. Fewer people are attacked snorkeling or scuba diving. Of course I think you are safe at ankle level but beyond that keep your eyes open. I encountered three sharks snorkeling once. My heart pounded hard but they ignored us.

Shocked......I am going to a beach in NORTH CAROLINA, home of the shark attacks, in one week! ShockedShocked

I did yoga this morning, Zumba tonight, and in-between I started to get organized for the 4th of July picnic we host each year. It is kind of weird around here. Canadian fires have dumped a lot of smoke in the air so it is all hazy; last night the moon was RED (a 'blood moon'), and this morning the sun was PINK. If I can get a good picture at sunset, I will post it.

Love reading about everyones active days. I did weeding and gardening for about 60-90 .minutes today. My niece is staying with us currently so I've also been doing a lot of cooking and general running around. So lots of steps!

Ruth and Patoo, be careful at the beach and stay alert. Scary how the Jaws plot is playing out there...

Mary, glad you are settling in now. Claire, you have the best spots to ride. I aspire to get to half your fitness level....

My exercise today was bootcamp tonight after a long day at work. Will switch things up tomorrow and go to a Latin Fusion dance fitness class with a friend. Love dancing so it should be lots of fun!

How nice it was to meet everyone! my best intentions are to sit down and write each of you a note, saying something like how great it was to meet up with y'all, but since its' like a week later, and I STILL haven't gotten around to THAT, then.... I'm just saying I had a really nice time meeting you all! It wasn't weird a bit! There was a moment there toward the end of the visit, where i felt like this moment of deja voodoo, ..like, we were all meant to meet.. something like that, but it was a quietly powerful moment for me, and for that, I thank you!

I have been on a cleaning jag, it has been over 3 years since I have done any serious cleaning around here. I don't know if that counts, but I have been hitting 10,000 steps by around 4:00. Up and down stairs too!

Please do not let the shark get you.

Picture from yesterday's golf tournament to EndBrainCancer. Major exercise was chasing golfers away from the putting contest enclosure as rules were "no putting within the roped off areas". Lots of sun. Got to chat with two lovely ladies who are as active as I am. Great fun, and part of the work I do. - Claire

Yesterday I was back at my "Be Active for Life" (BAFL) class. We did an hour of cardio and strength training - nonstop. I was pooped at the end of the class.

We have a fitness center at work. The BAFL class is one of the few that you need to pay for. By taking the class, I know that I'll be exercising at least two days a week - that is if I don't miss the class due to meetings. I've been taking the class since May 2010 - one year after my mastectomy. When I started, I could hardly keep up with the younger generation. I wouldn't even touch the spin bike. Now I can at least do the same time on the spin bike although I don't go as fast as they do. But I hold my own. And we have a great trainer who modifies the exercises for my limitations.

Gorgeous picture, Claire. You all look very Country Club (in a good way Smile).

Wonderland is at the ocean right now, she has been sending me SHARK REPORTS.....but not for a couple days, so hopefully she is still in one piece Shocked. Patoo should be okay because she is heading for the mountains; unless, like in the old Saturday Night Live skits, there actually are Land Sharks dressed up like pizza delivery boys.....anyone else remember that? Just to be on the safe side, no midnight pizza orders, patoo!

Great job everyone else, it is fun when you actually see/feel yourself making progress!

Tomboy, yes, serious cleaning 'counts' more than anything really! You are working all the parts of your body & doing something productive as well.

And, it is really, really special to get together. I would sure encourage people to meet up with fellow BCOers in your area if possible. It is a connection that mere words can't explain. I joked to a friend that getting together is a semi-religious experience....if eating a whole bunch, talking a whole bunch, and laughing a whole bunch can be counted as religion.......on further reflection, I saying that it IS a religious experience; because what should religion be but a time of deep meaning, true connections, and love. Heart

Enough philosophy for the day! I did Cardio Sculpt this morning & will go back for noon yoga.

Hi all. Will be glad to get settled somewhere eventually so can get into regular exercise programs.

Ruth, I will be in the mountains for 2 weeks followed by a week at NC beach and a week in Myrtle Beach. So if the mountain sharks don't get me the water ones will still have a chance. Snooze They will have to be mighty small to nip at my ankles!

I didn't take this picture, but this is what the sun looked like the other morning. The jet stream had pushed down the smoke from Canadian wildfires. Pretty mysterious looking....like the sky of another planet maybe.

Pretty picture, Ruth, but I don't like the reason why it's pretty.

Hi All. Just a quick note. We are at the NC coast for the week. It's very strange with all the shark attacks that have happened. I'm with my extended family and we are very leery about swimming and always looking at the water. We can't swim long because it's windy and the water is rough with lots of crashing waves. I keep getting knocked down! So we walk, run, paddle boat in the sound, sun, and generally have a lot of fun! And eat good food and drink good drinks!

What an active activity thread today! I walked 30 minutes around the lake today and will hot 8,000 steps before bed.

I enjoyed reading all the posts and (Cheryl) I am enjoying my niece being around, thank you. She eats healthfully and is an encouragement to me in that. Also loved Ruth's beautiful picture.

Beautiful picture, Ruth, if not for the cause of it.

Claire, that is one long bike ride!

My DD is headed to the beach in NC for the holiday weekend too. I hope Patoo, Wonderland and Ruth all stay safe and those sharks head out to sea!

I had PT for an hour today and followed it up with a 4 mile walk. It was a beautiful day here. My Fitbit battery died so no steps recorded today.

Tomorrow afternoon DH and I are headed into Boston to see Imagine Dragons in concert. That should add some steps to my day.

Ruth what a beautiful picture but the reason behind it is sad. Patoo the mountains of NC is where one of my favoutrites series of books is set and so in my minds eye it is gorgeous, I hope you enjoy your time there. Ginger how exciting sounds like fun, enjoy the concert. Great picture Claire you look great.

I did Body Jam tonight and I'm exhausted will sleep well tonight.

Ruth, you are right it is hot, hot, hot! Like the photo Claire and go body jammin HeidiHill & Cheryl!

I'm letting go of flipping over time wise and Starbucks is my friend who is helping. Took a tour of CNN yeasterday and lot's of walking. Got my music with me so hoping to do a little body flow with my Canadian roomie. The people here in Atlanta are so friendy and polite and it's smaller than I thought and found the metro a breeze and cheap to use. Off for a coffee top-up and then google underground Atlanta and to find Lennox Square mall. Happy active Wednesday everyone!

A 12 mile leisurely ride and a swim here. That's Mount Rainier in the distance. There are two docks to go swimming off. Will do one more long training ride over the weekend, but a trail ride. Scoping out the swimming places as hot here. - Claire

This was taken during our evening walk with Mikey yesterday - as you can see she was completely unfazed by two people and a dog, and just continued chillin' under a tree in one of our neighbor's front yards.
