Rose- I think your trip to Florida will be a good thing. I hope everything goes well for you along the way, and you have good visits with the family there. Blondie has shown this can be done, our other little FL traveler. When do you leave?
Glad to hear the pain meds are helping and sending you good wishes for the meeting with hospice. They are such a great organization and helped our family and many others I know. They will take excellent care of you.
Loveroflife- kind of congested today, but doing a sinus rinse each morning and that helps. I decided to take some dayquil today, that will help the congestion. Also going to the gym for the steam room. It is working it's way out, I think I shall live! Thank you for asking!
Frey- wishing you a good day with this next infusion and minimal SEs. Keep us posted on how you are doing and we will check in too!
Marlanab- when is your next chemo?
Mommy- you are right on top of the house work. I have a stack of laundry to fold when I can get to it.

Leaking tooo. So far, not where that it mattered. Kegel's have no influence. Doc would say do kegel's. They have no clue. Did have a fart go wrong in front of DBF the other day. He laughed. I laughed. (mortified)
One time( a story). about 8 years ago now. In the medication room. Oops. I waited too long. Wet. All I could do was go to the bathroom in the lounge and wait till the nursing supervisor brought me scrubs. I've always said a stellar day in nursing was you got a break, you got to go pee, you got lunch, and out on time----RARE. Well that day, I got to go pee and I had a break.

Marley, Lovery, Patty, we all have pain in common. The backstory would make it easy to understand why I suggest what I suggest. Gawd, boring. The key is to interrupt the cycle. Sherlock Holmes approach. Identify the source. Then stop the activity that causes the pain. Do proactive things to stop entering the cycle. Take pain meds and use other things that help. LOL, that's 40 years of learning. More learning done on the front end b/c of being in cervical(neck) traction for almost 4 years in the 70's.
Patty, one time Dh and I went to Essex while I was in traction(10 lbs.). Didn't do that again.
Wren, Yup billfolds are a big deal problem with men. They would get all the way to my pain docs to find that out. With women it's the shoulder bag. Throws off the whole spine b/c we lift the shoulder to keep the bag from falling off>>alters the spine>>hips>>walk. It's a mess. I carry a pocket thing most times. That was part of identifying the source. One of many things. I made my pain docs consider it in women.
Tang, if you get a fix, be careful about the stuff they use to do a sling. Lawsuits are going on.

Yep, it's hot but only 13 days until I'm in Ireland! And it raining and cool there. Hopefully meeting up with Felingfeline over there. It's neat to meet people that we've been so much part of their lives. So many sisters here.

I have an appt tomorrow with nurse pract. Mo on vacation. Hoping we find s better pain solution also nurse said maybe a steroid temporarily. So I am very hopeful I'll be back to how i was before the hospital visit. I was finally doing good and getting better. I am so thankful above all I have still been able to take care of my sons. School starting back soon so it almost homework time and getting up at 6 am. Noooooo. More summer please. I have really enjoyed all the time I've got to spend with the boys.

Jazzy -- next and last round is Thursday. It's kind of funny that I feared the first round, dreaded the second and third and now I'm anxious to get to Thursday. Time has been dragging like the last days before a vacation.
Mommy--do you want to do my laundry next?
I swear that the only reason that I ever bought my own house was for the tax write-off. I moved back in with my parents in my late 20's after a break up and to save money to buy a house. My parents have their upstairs closed off with a glass door at the bottom of the stairs so I had 2 bedrooms, a full bath and my college dorm fridge. Working nights, I would put my laundry in the washer when I got off work and wake up to it dried and folded, left at the bottom of the stairs. I miss the Laundry Fairy.
As for leaking, I seem to only leak when I've off on a crying jag. I'm good for a couple of coughs but after that, I'm in trouble. But since I'm just starting menopause I'm anticipating it getting worse.
Loverly--I did not mention the "C"-word.
Dunes--the 12 hour days are a little tough. I'm lucky in that I'm not being mandated for overtime right now--my co-workers are putting in 50-60 hour weeks. I stayed with my parents after the first 2 rounds of chemo and my dogs were relegated to the garage and yard. It was as tough on me as it was on them which is one of the major reasons I've decided to stay in my own home after rounds 3 and 4.
Smaarty and Loverly--looking good. Smarty, I'm jealous of the Ireland trip. It's beautiful and I'd love to go back but I have so many other places on my bucket list. I actually looked at buying a retirement home (which is a looong way off0 on the western coast near Spanish Point, County Clare. The best and freshest fish that I EVER had (which is saying something since I live on the coast) was at a little restaurant named "The Olde Bake House" in a town called Miltown Malbay in the same area. That place alone is worth a trip to Ireland.
Susan--have fun. Backyard campouts are the best.

purses and such. My entire spine is screwed up. Neuro said its from all my years on the road. Anyway. This is all I carry now. Anything that won't fit is in my car. Pen, glucose tabs, aleve, 
tissue, leashes.

Back home and feeling good. They told me to extend the decadron if I have any sort of rash by Friday. Hands clear right now and have 2 days worth of decadron so hopefully I will not get the dag rash this time.
Rose- I hope your flight goes well. Have a great time and make some good memories for yourself.

So I was surfing around in the patient portal for my results from my blood work with the PCP last week (not there yet), but found lots of interesting things. I like being able to check my visits they have on line to see where my vitals are with weight, BP, etc. each visit. But I noticed they have "hyperlipedemia" which is high cholesterol. I have been borderline on a couple checks in the past, but never elevated. I take no meds for high cholesterol either.
Hmm, wonder what that is about? I am interested to check the lipid profile this time as I know the Prolia shot can create elevated cholesterol. It was okay when I had it checked this spring, but now had it in my system for six months. Elevated cholesterol can also happen with the AIs, although that has not happened yet.
It is interesting to see what you share during visits and what they write down. Anyways, after reading my chart, I decided I am a hot mess!

Jazzy, hyperlipidemia is elevated lipids. Different than cholesterol. That's hypercholestremia.

Blondie, very cool you & your step-daughter got a tattoo. I think that's a great bonding event.
My DD very good friend, lost her mom on graduation day. It was heartbreaking. Her mom was only 44, MBC.... This young 17 year old got a tattoo, ( maybe a pink ribbon), along with her older sister. She went on to become a nurse, to help others. Lots of folks, trying to be supportive, jump on the bandwagon of the pink ribbon.
Marlanab, thank-you for posting the photo of Kristine.....aka....Bluebird...she passed one year ago, I was not expecting that. My DH got a horrific staph infection in knee & elbow at the same time. He spent 8 days in hospital, very ill. He gets home from the hospital & we have a 100 year flood.... Water everywhere. This all happened on my 1 year post Cancer dx, & surgery date. What a nightmare !
Ok, enough doom & gloom....looking forward to Aug. & a fantastic fall. I love fall weather & the trees changing colors. A drive to the mountains is amazing. Lots of aspens.

Hi1-- you're welcome. And what an awful time that must have been for you last year. From what I read from her posts, she was still going to fight even though her prognosis was very dim.
I got a tattoo on my shoulder when my first aunt passed from lung cancer in 1990. She always called me her "Little Pooh" after the Winnie the Pooh I dragged around from age 2 to 6. The only Pooh that I could find that I liked was one that looked like Pooh was reaching up in the air or waving. When my second aunt passed from pancreatic cancer in 1993, I added a small butterfly above Pooh's reaching hand because that aunt was always a social butterfly.
The funny thing is that I'm not a huge Pooh fan as an adult but I have a huge collection of Winnie the Pooh collectibles because people always assume that I must love him if I have a tattoo and they buy them for me. Unfortunately, Pooh and the butterfly need some touch up work as the color has faded--I had them recolored about 10 years ago but they've faded out again and Pooh looks like he's got jaundice or cirrhosis of the liver from drinking too much fermented honey. Because, let's face it, Pooh has a bit of an addiction. I'm surprised that Christopher Robin, Rabbit and Eeyore haven't staged an intervention. And Tigger's definitely a meth or cocaine addict. Come to think of it....Eeyore is probably on quaaludes.
I'm thinking about getting another one when I'm done with radiation...something like a pink phoenix across my scars. Even though I pretty much hate pink. Unless we're talking Floyd.
Rosie--I'm glad that you have made plans to visit your family. I hope that you have a good visit with minimal pain.

Hi gals...nice to see you all...wanted to prak in on Rose...did you already book your flight? Just want to tell you if you can fly jet blue, they treat me like royalty. I had a trip to CA when I got mets dx. Didn't have ins but the refunded my $ anyway. Ever since then, when I travel, they have me call after I book to have front seat & all the perks. I realize if you're asking for a wheelchair that may all be covered...just hope you are pampered. Wren & Kjones...XOXO. G'night sisters.

We went to have our head, I mean eyes examined........And mine are still just fine... just wear glasses to drive... But this Husband of mine has a cataract, and we sort of assumed his......... but now that we KNOW for sure, I am just worried that he is so afraid to do anything about it, that it will just keep getting worse........ I know you say I should make him go see this team of surgeons, but he will hardly even talk about it now.........
He has to get an emissions test for his car... Then in December, renew his drivers license, and I know he won't pass that eye test, so that means he won't drive..... Which he hardly ever does anyway. I just want him to "see" again........ DD in Orlando is going easy here.... she knows her Dad, and talks gently to him, about all her friends who have had this cataract surgery...
Being stubborn goes right up there with being Italian... and getting older! Oh well... Nothing I can do about it........ yet. Maybe when he gets used to the idea, and hears about all these successful surgeries, he won't dig his heels in as much.
Yes! The airport, and airlines WILL baby you, if they see, or hear something is wrong! Like with my hip! Don't know about the Breast Cancer card, but if you limp, and act lame, you will get a wheel-chair, and be first in line! I felt like such a slacker, with DD pushing me at high-speed through the terminal! I COULD walk, but just a little slower with my cane... and my seeing-eye dog, and my dark glasses... and............my beanie on.........

I was told 10 years ago I have cataracts. I freaked! Was told they weren't ready to go. But would know when they were. How? Driving at night headlights would look like dinner plates. Doesn't affect my normal corrected vision. So he may pass his vision test.
Not looking forward to having it done, hear it's a fairly easy procedure. Sounds scarey, sooooooo many have it done.
My MIL needed it done. We asked her to come here. Said no. Then......... said she was sorry she had it done. Why??????? Cause now she could see how dirty her house was!! And she was a first class wuss, but got through it.
