Kathy & Mary. . .may I ask which 5k app? I don't yet know if I can work up to jogging given my L4/L5 disk but I'm going back to walking and hiking as soon as I'm cleared to exercise and if I can work up to jogging then I so want to. I used to run 5Ks.

Claire absolutely beautiful pictures. Sweet glad you've got your surgery date getter done girl and enjoy your time in the steamy south even if you still have to go to work. Mary you've had one heck of a time but you're back on track so those lbs will come off. Ruth I loved all the photos of your reunion and of course my favourite photo was the one of the cake
LB I have done the new Body Flow once, I really need to fit it into my schedule againYesterday I did a Spin class, I was so tired after Sunday that I came home from the gym ate my dinner and went to bed and then I slept in till 7am, unheard of in my world usually the dogs are staring me down at 6am for breakfast but they let me sleep. Tonight did 1/2 an RPM class and then Body Jam.

Scottie - the 5K app I'm using is by Fitness22 - I have an iPhone so I downloaded it from the Apple Store, but it looks like it's available for Android as well. I've been really pleased with it, and have downloaded some of their other apps, including the Squats app and the 5K speed interval training one. http://www.fitness22.com/
Had my monthly LE MLD therapy session yesterday - she really moved out a lot of fluid and it feels better. Did a Pilates DVD this morning. Going to the Nats game tonight - the giveaway is a Jayson Werth chia pet - can't miss that one. Jayson Werth is a Nats player who sports a shaggy beard and long hair - his walkup song is "Werewolf of London" which pretty much fits his look, so they devised a chia pet giveaway just for him. Hopefully we'll get there early enough to get one.

Mary, the Jayson Werth chia pet gave me a good laugh! Cheryl did a shadow for a instructor I'm covering at the end of August. She always make little changes to the release and making sure I keep it consistent so I learn her way. Ruth, what a lovely photo and aunt and uncle and yes, good aging mentors too.
Vi box and body balance this morning.

I jogged 2 miles tonight. Figured out how to use my sons Nike watch, headed out the door, got a block away and a huge bolt of lightning came. It made me laugh, figures!! So I ran home, hopped in the car and headed off to the gym for the treadmill. HUGE blisters on my toes. Holy moly.

30 minutes on hotel treadmill, a set of situps with weights and a few reps of different things with dumb bells on the bench. Tired - using my brain all day long testing a new billing platform is exhausting!
Sleep well all

PT had me doing lunges and squats as well as balancing activities. That is much harder after a sleepless night! I slept much better last night.
Today I had a hair appt and got a pedicure. I paid the bills and dealt with paperwork that has been building up. I took the day off from formal exercise.

Ruthbru, love the picture! I want to do more hikes before the weather turns to yuck. Next week should be a feel good week for me (week off chemo) so I might have to try a hike through Oregon Ridge.

I walked up Capitol Hill yesterday to my internist's appointment. Big post everything checkup. As he put it, he "couldn't find anything wrong with me". Nice having a doctor who 1) exercises and 2) likes good food and wine. So assuming all is well with my blood work and tests, I can continue all my evil ways. He did say congrats on finishing the Arimidex which he described as "nasty stuff".
So over 5 miles of walking as per my new smartphone. I then went to the wine bar (well, I did do a conference call from the health center cafeteria post appointment) and had a couple of glasses of sparkling Gewurtztramminer to celebrate. It was on the $5 special and YUM!!!!
On the work front, the person I am doing the study for just loved my research questionnaire suggestions/revisions. So all is well there. All is well at the nonprofit too.
Go nuts with the questionnaires: do I experience stress??? Well, try living in two different worlds workwise with competing deadlines and needing to negotiate time.
One very funny result of these competing priorities (I was checking my email while waiting for the doctor) and also the climb up Capitol Hill is that my pulse wasn't exactly my resting pulse. My doctor wasn't worried.
Having dinner with my former intern and her husband tonight. Would love to sneak in a run, but think most likely a walk. Will do a proper ride tomorrow AM and have a fun group ride planned for Sunday. As it features Washington State Ferries, more amazing views. Promise pix. - Claire

Lilac and Ginger, great news on recovering injuries and Claire on the bill of health. Family bike ride, here on the trail to Livigno, Italy. We did ca. 50 km every day, which would not have been possible without the electrical assistance of our e-mountain bikes. DD is a pro downhiller and I'm finally learning to let go of the brakes.

Jazzy, you should totally have your Zen on after a full day of yoga!!
Congratulations on your appointment, Claire!

Did yoga & walked this morning.

I have been MIA during the week here. busy busy. Yesterday I walked 32 minutes and today 30 despite being dead tired. Proud of myself that I got out even though I did not want to. Enjoying everyone's pictures and activities. Wow Heidi. That is a beautiful scene. And Claire beautiful lavender pictures.
I swear I read that Jazzy was going to a yogurt festival. I was imagining all kinds of flavors and types of yogurt including frozen and toppings. Yes I'm dieting!
Lilac the restaurant did not seem to have a plan for a tornado warning. My husband and I kept watch and decided we'd head to the restroom if we saw anything. It wouldn't have been easy to outrun in the car-too much traffic

Hello ladies! I walked 4.5 miles with my sister this morning. We really have fun on our morning walks. Next week I am back at work, which means back at the gym. It will be a challenge getting back into the routine.
Heidihill- The scenery is beautiful for bike riding!
Claire- Congrats! You deserve a celebration!
Ruth- Your daily exercise is so inspiring!

I've enjoyed catching up with all the posts. You ladies keep me motivated!
Gorgeous picture Heidi!
I've started a project of going through all my photos - getting rid of bad ones, severely faded ones, etc. Eventually they will be condensed and put back in albums. I've emptied 14 or 15 albums and it feels like a cleansing.
It's been a hot, sticky week so not too much exercise for me. But tonight I got back on track with fast walking/running early this evening.

Heidi that is so pretty!!
I love everyone's pictures here. Claire you always post some of the prettiest stuff on facebook - love it!
I think I am going to train for a half marathon. I am several weeks into builidng a solid running base. There a re numerous half's around me this Fall. I am definitely not built like a runner, but I think I will try and just see where I get.

So ladies, I did it. I did a total of six hours of yoga over the course of four classes yesterday. My only challenge was I felt hot and sweaty through a lot of it, but think that was due to a non-A/C space and warmer temps that we might normally have in August, combined with my own hot flashiness.
It felt incredible to do that much exercise in a day, something I have not done since before the bc world. A good testament to all the personal training I did this last year to get my fitness back. I came home exhausted, but also so happy to have had this break through. I just had to share that with you!
Thank you for being a witness to my exercise recovery process and my milestone yesterday!
