I will never ever watch anything or read anything about anyone connected with the Kardashians including whatever her new name is.

  • I'm so sick of this heat here in North Texas....from what I understand today will be the peak of the heat....105 today. I went out to the grocery store and by the time I got home I felt like crap. bleh!

I got a letter in the mail Saturday reminding me to get my mammogram, I posted briefly about this in the steam room. I'm not a happy camper about this, although I realize this is likely a automated letter it still was upsetting to get it. I called the imaging center this morning to complain and the nurse navigator I worked with for 2 years is gone. *sigh* I left a message for the new to let her know about the letter and that I no longer have breasts.

    Smarty-I'm jealous of you...have fun!

To everyone still doing thru tx's ((hugs))

As far as rads go....cake walk compared to chemo. I did some blistering at the end, but still compared to chemo it was nothing.

I'm heading out to Missouri tue/thurs of this week for work training. I'm trying to get back to normal more and more....it feels good for the most part.

    ((hugs)) everyone!

Tang - I'm with you sister. My porch reads 103 already. Geesh. Just took dog out for potty break and right back inside. One thing good, this heat has just about killed my appetite. Haven't had the oven on in over a week. Church sanctuary was freezing yesterday, wishing I'd brought a cardigan. Hope Missouri is cooler and a productive work time. I think I'd give a call to some higher up at the mammo center and let them know to take you off the mammo list and never send another letter.

I worked all the way thru rads, traditional rads. Reported at 0730 and was on the work clock by 8. Only a few knew I even was doing it, mostly the on call overnight nurse. I had some nip stuff going on at the end but no breaks, no holidays, M-F for 33 tx. I have no idea how close lumpy was to chest wall. Not offered brachytherapy, but I do see by his resume one of the ROs where I went does do that. I really asked few questions, trusted my RO, she was wonderful. Wishing so much she was a MO rather than a RO.

sas, I don't think you could add anymore questions...lol. I think it's prob this chemo..cause I have never noticed an odor before. My pits even smell right after a shower . Go figure. So I stink. Go ahead say it. I can take it:

good info sas. Doesn't at all pertain to my mom and I. My brother got me off everything. My name is on nothing. Can't even access health records . He can. I didn't know that the whole time he lived with my mom, he has never moved, he and her have had joint bank accounts. Had no idea. And just found out last month that 20 or so years ago, mom sold the house to him. He is going to be a bit surprised if she as to go in a home and they get his money too, till she spends down. He is not the brightest bulb, and very unteachable. I will take care of mom till I cant, and can't worry about the rest. I would have been happier never knowing about their decisions. I just hope he will write checks out for in home care. That will be my discussion with him Wednesday. Wish me luck :

Susan LOLOL, If it's only the sheets and other things smell nice then it's likely that it's coming from the body skin and I know you get that :). I think it's an interesting observation. I do so envy that you can smell. Mine doesn't work for much of anything. Has to be a very high threshold to smell. Check that list and see if they're any other questions you answer didn' cover. What is the chemo des jour again?

LMG and Tang. ouch my feet are burning.

How is the gold mind plume effecting water supplies to you? It said it was headed for AZ. Couldn't tell if it was heading to CO.

I went to work on my housekeeping threads today. Couldn't focus, mind went on a walkabout then wanted a nap.

Geesh Susan. What a sticky-wicket mess. Huggss Sister! Hope your DB is in good health since he seems to be in control of everything. Your DM might outlive him. Good luck on your discussion. We got your back.

Sassy - my mind been's on a walkabout for years. I made good grades in school, college - well except for those heavy hitting pre-med classes. But as I've gotten olden I think I have more than a touch of ADD. I have put stuff away in this house and can't find squat. Purse, keys, cell OK but put it away it's liable to be gone. DH and I looked for a jar of peach preserves to make something with. Could not find it. Found it a couple of days ago in a plastic grocery bag, never unloaded.

Tea talk. We might as well have tea of the day to complement the drink of the day. I'm having Stash ginger/peach green iced. I did order the Taylors of Harrogate Tea Room Blend and the Ntingwe Kwazulu. Like I said he had to have the Amazon Prime. Think I'm being very frugal with my part.

Tea talk: sleepytime lite (just the regular green carton) to sip for me today. Looking into the Taylors of Harrogate Tea Room Blend.

Noses: also envious of those whose sniffers sniff! Mine just holds up my glasses.

Susan, You're brother has been calculating all these years. Now it will bite him in the ass. Did you have a clue he was a underworld creep?

sas, nope. My darling daughter says she is sooo happy to have 2 people in her life, her hubby and I, who always think people will do their best, no matter how many times we are thrown under the bus, we are always surprised. And I really am. I know people can change, and I truly think they will. Then there we go again, always surprised they take the wrong rode. But I am happy this way. Not naive, I am a realist, with hopes of world peace, and the Walton family Christmas for all :). Can't control what he does, and it will bite him in the behind. We do make are own beds don't we

OMD - I just saw a cloud in the sky. Honest to goodness. Maybe hope yet. Hit 107 on the back porch. Just took cool water to goats. OK in the shade but brutal in the sun. My birds would be bathing in hot water Sassy.

DH would break anything like that in the yard. He is a menace with a trimmer, mower, hose, you name it. Garden gnomes missing ears, noses.

I may use this as an excuse for glass to take up the rest of the third bedroom. It would get me out more thrifting and being creative. I loved the design that Dutchy posted for the stained glass.

Susan, from the stories of others bout elder assets and care, you are right. He's on the hook.

Oh lilgoats. that's awful. 107. I don't think it ever has gotten that hot here.

Oh hot yes. I just caught the weather. Record high for the metroplex in general is 118 just south of me in 1980, 113 for DFW the same year. We had 69 100+ days and 42 consecutive. This is really nothing compared to that. But then I was a younger, much skinnier woman back then. It's a dry heat lol - only 24%.

Story on about Frost Tx. "Frost is always on the water tower". School mascot is polar bears haha.

Not sure what planet I've been on, but they're is a whole subculture making art from old glass and china. This Etsy link has over 1000 examples of this 'genre' for sale from 10$ to under 50$. Average price about 22$. It's put together with glue. Not that I expect anyone to look at all the pages. I'm just amazed.

sorry it's so hot goats, hope cool weather is on its way to you. We have been pretty lucky this year. My garden didn't turn out so well, not sure why, but weather has been ok. Lots of rain, but we have needed that.

    Happy evening all

The record keeping place in our county Brevard, Fl., doesn't have us ever going into the 100* since they started recording in 1937. Must be the oceans.

Was there a El Nino or El Nina in 1980?

  • jazzygirl

I love all things El Ninjo. Last big one was 1997-1998 and I was living here in NM then (really wet summer and very snow winter), and before that it looks like 1982-1983 was the last big one. I was living in Texas for part of that time, and do remember a doozie of hurricane but not much else? My family helped me move to the DFW area the summer of 1983 and right after they left, Hurricane Alicia hit and remember the soaking rains that came.

From a chart I read might have been a weak El Nino but I can't find any reference in the Wikipedia article about it.

I remember little about anything in 1983, the year I graduated nursing school and worked nights. You'd think a college student would remember major events. Oh yes winter 1983 record low temps, didn't get above freezing for like 2 weeks I think. Got iced in at hospital and spent the "night" in an endoscopy unit that sat adjacent to ours. Also don't remember much about 97-98. I would be somewhere around here I have a day planner from then. We moved out here Dec. 1998.

Jazzy - If you ever come this way would love to get together. Unfortunately my chance of getting to Alb. is zilch. I'm married to Eeyore's twin.

Morning Owlettes. I am just waiting for my SIL who is taking me on my first non medical related outing since my first surgery 9 weeks ago! I was also told yesterday that they expect my wound to be fully closed for the first time next week. Happy dancing in Perth.

Fl ladies thanks for sharing the rain. We have had some lovely dam filling showers over the past couple of days. Back to 18 and sunny today though.

    Happy Tuesday
