Thank God it was clear at 5:00 p.m. when the wedding started. Weather was just perfect...light cool breeze with partly sunny sky....

and a beautiful sunset.

Thank you for the well wishes. Can't wait to see my two BCO Sisters tomorrow for lunch. God is more than good to us

Sas got here about 3, we wondered how it was going over your way. Just beautiful!!

What are you doing up so late Ms. Spookie? Is Ms. Sas talking your ears off? I am glad she arrived safely.

Ugh!!! Just lost a long post trying to address everyone!
Boyd-so sorry for the sudden loss of your DH's cousin. It is tragic when a spouse and young children are left behind without a chance to say goodbyes. So scary what happened to your daughter.
Jazzy, you can probably fold yourself into a pretzel now with six hours of Yoga? I love how you are living life.
Debiann- Buck is so cute. I didn't know goats can have such big ears. Minus the horn, he looks like Eeyore.
Goats, your pantry must be filled with tea.
Jacfin, no fun having seroma.
Zill, I find that the older I get the longer it takes to recover from jet lag.
Ms Sas, I don't like to kill any insects unless they are mosquitos, cockroaches, or ants. I don't kill them (roaches and ants) unless they are in my home.
Frey, I still enjoy coloring too. It's relaxing.
Where is our Mama CHEVY?
Rose, hugs.
Marlana, I hope you get your strength back soon and some time to pamper yourself before radiation.
Patty, hope your time with family is sweet and keep away from the hospital!
Ms. BLONDIE, hope you are having quality time with your friend and family.
Ms. Smaarty-I find that when I travel abroad, if I eat small meals or even skip a meal, it really helps my stomach to adjust. If I arrive in the morning or afternoon, I try not to take naps and try to adjust to the local time right away by keeping busy. Coming back to the States is always harder. Taking melatonin before bedtime for 3-4 days helps to reset the internal clock. Have a safe and fun trip!
Hello to everyone I miss.

Loveroflife, never noticed that before, but he does have big ol eeyore ears, lol. Fortunately he hasn't lost his tail yet.

Morning you wild and crazy women! At least I hope you are!
Yes Boyd... we always worry about our "kids"... No matter how old they are, or WHERE they are, we can still lose sleep worrying about them... Even our Grand-kids... just wait! Your Daughter has to be made aware of how serious things can get when she doesn't "remember" to have her meds with her at all times! I mean it's bad enough to have an asthma-attack, without your rescue inhaler, must less without anti-seizure meds for emergencies.
DD here in Denver has so much trouble with Tinnitus... So since the Docs have no good explanations, or help, I woke up at 3 this morning, wondering if I could figure something else out.... She takes an anti-depressant.... has for years.... Also uses those sinus rinses for her sinus problems....
Now I don't KNOW, but I read where SOME antidepressants can be classified as oto-toxic in SOME people, and will SOMEtimes cause ear problems, loss, and even Tinnitus... Maybe even those sinus rinses? AND caffiene.
So MamaChevy just emailed her and told her maybe WE can fix this, by changing a few things... Like no caffiene, stop using the sinus rinses for awhile, and ask about that anti-depressant, or changing it? Even aspirin, or anti-biotics can affect us in different ways...
She just sounded so bummed and sad last night when I talked to her.... I just want to "fix" her....
None of my Docs knew what caused MY hearing loss! I figured it out on my own! That's when I stopped the Tamoxifen...(an ototoxic drug) and researched OTHER women on the internet AND here on BC.ORG, and that's when I found the answers!
Take good care girls.... Love the photo's Loverly.... enjoy yourselves!

jazzy, love strawberries.
Today is clean house and pack. I know something is missing but don't know what. I don't feel like I've forgotten anything. Been putting stuff aside all month so hope it all fits! Tomorrow we go to SF then fly ALL day Tuesday. Sassy, don't think I could go without eating for 12-16 hours like it says. We will deal with it however it works best, depending on if we can sleep on the plane for the second half.
Boyd, sorry about DD, hope all will be better.
Loverly, great photos and glad it turned out so nice. Must have been nerve whacking to not know.
Isn't Blondie home by now?
Rose, see you're still hanging in there. Hope you are getting some relief.
Patty, my grandkids start back to school on the 13th. Do your boys go back that early too? What happened to school starting in September?
Pics ladies, SAS, spookie and lover!!

Smarty, Go to ricksteves.com and look at his packing list. It's pretty comprehensive but without lots of extras. If you want to look at my list, PM me your email.

I felt the same way smarty. I looked at ricksteves list. You won't need a swimsuit unless there is a pool and I never wore my shorts. I had capris, a maxi skirt and a pair of jeans. There's always a breeze and some showers. Qtips, band aids and nail clippers were what I forgot.Promise there are plenty of shops. I took a tervis water bottle and a backpack. The water is good over there.
A leapcard is the cheapest way to ride bus or train. Otherwise you need exact change. There's no change given back. Only a refund slip if you overpay. You flag the bus down at the stop and you hit the stop button before your stop. They don't automatically stop at each bus stop. I learned the hard way. Kids loved the double decker buses.
If you are renting a car, call your credit card company and see if they offer ins. Get them to email you a letter and show it at the desk. Saves big bucks.
I have AT&T. They had a $30 pkg for cell phone. Unlimited texts, $1per min calls, 300mb? I used free wifi on the bus.
King cheese and onion crisps for my husband. I prefer the walker salt and vinegar. They also have weird flavors like prawn but I just saw gyro, biscuits and gravy and two others by Lays at Walmart.
My tea isn't tasting as good since I got home. Milk? Remenants from the stomach bug I picked up?
Boyd. That was scary. Hope everything's back to normal.
Chevy. Tamox does that to me too! My Jin Shin Jyutsu practitioner says it's stuck energy and I can feel my ear drain after a session with her.
Frey. I saw those coloring books while picking up school supplies. I think they will make great Christmas presents. Always looking for something lightweight to send.

Yay made it home.
Great visit, New food treat, Haven't had blue crab in the shell since the 90's. Covered with it. Spookie and I did marathon driving over 23 hrs. We both like that. Helped yesterday when I got on the scenic tour. Made it to her house by landmarks. Loverly is beautiful. Loverly, so happy to have meet you. Spookie thanks for the hospitality. We're getting this down pat. Made it home in 20 minutes less than the same ride yesterday. Loverly & Spookie have the pics.

Smarty- the last time I went to Europe, I had three flights and it was recommended to try to pack everything in one carry on suit case if possible to avoid lost or delayed luggage. Since I was going to Italy that trip, and knew there would be SHOPPING, one of our guides said to pack an extra bag and use that for things we may buy/use over there and then everything can go back through luggage. If it gets home late, so what, you don't need it then. That worked out really well for me. Of course, if you buy anything valuable or breakable, that goes on the plane with you. A good basic backpack is great to travel with anywhere.
Stuff things inside your shoes too for space savers, a trick I learned on that trip. Another trick I have learned traveling is to take old underwear and throw it out as I go along. I do that regardless of where I travel.
Spookie- love the pic of you three gals. You all look great! I love how so many women are connecting this summer in various places. The exercise group in CA, all of you guys in FL.

ok, all packed. Only thing not going is my regular pillow. And only 30 lbs
. I still got my little pillow I still have to clutch when sleeping. Don't know if I'll ever get rid of that things. Girls hurt if I don't sleep with it. I checked steve list. Seem to have everything I needGreat pic you guys. Glad the weather cooperated with you. More pics??

I'm alive--I just went back to work on Friday for a 12 hour trade that I agreed to do B-BC back in March, then 8 hours overtime last night and back today for my regular 12 hour shift so I'm back to my sleep-work-sleep-work cycle. I have my consult with the RO on the 13th. The receptionist asked me if I preferred to wait for their female doctor to have an open appointment and I had to laugh because at this point I'm pretty much over modesty so I opted for the first available appointment with a male doctor.
Loverly--beautiful wedding photos.
Chevy--thanks for the info on the ototoxicity of Tamoxifen...something to think about when I get to that stage of my treatment, especially since my career relies on my hearing.
Boyd--glad the kiddo will be okay. Maybe you can do what I do with my asthma inhaler that I have stashed all over the place (house, car, purse, bedside, storage ottoman in the living room, my parents' house) and keep a few pills for her at your mom's house so that even if she does forget her meds at home, she has a back up there?
Smarty--I have a spare bedroom that I start "pre-packing" weeks in advance...I'm kinda nutty like that. Usually I have a huge pile of stuff and have to whittle it down but I rarely end up forgetting stuff except things that go in at the last minute like my brush....which I forgot on my trip to Ireland so first thing off the plane in Shannon I was brush shopping.
Jazzy -- funny strawberry. The city I work in has a strawberry festival every May. It's the strawberry capital of California though there are a lot grown in Watsonville as well.
Zills--I'll have to try the leap card next time I'm there. My friend and I drove the entire way around the country--I think we did something like 2100 km. England was a challenge, Ireland was crazy with even more narrow roads. However, once we figured out that our GPS was routing us down the one lane roads when there was a much better road a couple of kilometers out, it was much easier to navigate around. I still say I'm buying a cottage somewhere around Spanish Point in County Clare when I retire. I was there in 2008 just before the economy crashed and they were going for around €400K at that time and now they'e somewhere around €150-200K.

Marlanab- I am with you on the modesty thing. Both my oncologists (RO and MO) are male, and since I also had a sort of cutting edge rad treatment (brachytherapy), I also had med students in to see me one day with my chest splayed wide open. Did not bother me but joked with them "no Facebook pics please!" They tried not to laugh.
I more comfortable with a female gyn, but my male cancer docs were top notch. Wishing you luck with your apt so you can get to the next part of this process.
Smarty- you have a great time in Ireland! I look forward to hearing about it when you get back and maybe seeing a few pics too!

Marianab,
The problem wasn't that she didn't have them at my moms. What happened was my mom gave her her medicine and drink for her to take it and she sat it down and forgot ADD brain. At home we have to watch her take it or she will forget or try and take it twice. It worries me because Susan is 16 and should be able to handler taking her meds. We have a dry erase board on the fridge so she can write down the time and day so hopefully it helps her so we can let her be a little more independent. As far as her ADD, she does take medicine for it but it's a low dose and the kind she is on is our only choice due to her epilepsy. They have to be careful because some ADD medications can make her seizures worse. It's almost a great one or other situation. Thanks again for all the kind thoughts and well wishes.
- I keep looking for the like button on the bottom of everyone's post, I think that's a sign that I have been on Facebook to much.
Also please prayer for Dani Killman she is a local 10 year old girl who was just diagnosed with advance bone cancer and apparently it has already spread to her lungs. She has been having pains for many months now and her PCP has been seeing her monthly to treat her for what he said was "growing pains" without doing any testing. Her parents had taken her in many times to the local ER and they said the same thing and frayed the little girl like she was faking her pain level. Well last Friday her mom had enough of hearing her daughter screaming in pain and no one doing anything so she took her to children's hospital ER and theycouldn't believe how advanced her bone cancer had become and that so many doctors had missed it apparently it was obvious on x Ray. It's just a bad situation, the hospital and doctor will be held accountable but right now Dani's parents are just focusing on her getting better. Please add her to any prayer chains you have, prayer is powerful and she can use as many as possible. Thank you all I hate to burden you with something so emotion but she really needs the prayers.
