Patty, Love you babe, Now you have to send me your phone and address again. I had it last out with the Taste of Home subscription. You'll get a laugh out of this, I learned to say "Generally" b/c I'd say something and someone would say I had it this way.........Never realizing they're is more than one way to skin a pig.
Which reminds me of a story. It's about Palin. I was impressed with the fact that she could hunt, and do everything that could bring the meat to the table. More than the men b/c she cooked it too. I was on and antique jewelry site that I had used before. They're was a pin that had two stags jumping over a log, Trees in the background. Two crossed riffles. Nice pewter. I bought it too send to her. SOMETHING told me too verify origin. Took some work. Lordie would have created an uproar. It was the collar pin of a German officer WW2. Would have been a mess. Can you imagine the headlines if she had worn that as a lapel pin.

Look what my dh found in-between the siding and walls of our shed it's the biggest wasp nest I have ever seen. Feeling thankfully I am not the man and have to deal with it
I am still in hospital. Still vomiting maybe 20 times a day even eith iv nausea meds

Oh Patty, what anti-nausea med are they giving you? I can't imagine how your throat feels. Yuck!! That is one huge city of wasp. Yikes.

Peppermint! WTH???? Those wasps must really love your place! They don't like to be bothered.... I had a wasp nest the size of a basketball on our front porch! I finally rigged up a plan.... Before it got light, I would sneak out on the porch, put a bucket under it...(It was on the low ceiling) and gently, with a flat spatula, stand on a stool, and scrap it off, with the bucket underneath, and put a plate on top of the bucket..... run over to the ditch, gently dump out the contents on the banks of the ditch, and I did it without getting stung once!
They were VERY groggy, and slowly came out, yelling "WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED!" And I walked away smiling.

Can't remember who asked but for nausea they have me on : IV pheneran, and IV zofran, and IV reglan and a seasick patch. The vomiting has slowed down but I would think it would e zero times per day . yesterday was 8 times. Yes my troast is RAW ouch
Hadn't seen Blondie in awhile on her. I texted her yesterday and she is having a really really are time.

yesterday and today has been some long discussion with mo and hosp dr re my DNR on file. My DNR requests and their thoughts of too soon are colliding. I AM in charge of ME. I'll make the decisions for ME. This isn't the place to bring such heavy crap to, so I won't. But please keep me and family lifted in prayern or positive thoughts . thanks ladies

Oh Sweet Patty, you are definitely in my thoughts and prayers. ((((HUGS)))). It sounds like they are putting undue pressure on you. You do not need that kind of stress. Do they not think you have given this serious thought with a DH and two wonderful children. Only you can make those decisions. They have not walked in your shoes and until they do....

Kath is right Peppermint.... don't let them try and talk you into something you have given a lot of thought about..... Even Family will have preferences of what THEY think should happen....
I want OUR wishes followed also.... And when it comes time to go, I don't want a big whing-ding carryings-on or just anything that will make it harder on the family..... Been there first with my Mom, and then my Dad.... also my Grandma.... And everyone is different.... they want different things.... But the family is what matters.... the ones who are left to pick up the pieces of their hearts....
We've made what arrangements we could.... if anyone else wants more, then that is up to them.... but I know how painful it can be.... and at OUR age, there aren't that many friends/acquaintances left! Our life has been lived.... and when we are gone, we won't know the difference.....
Just get better, go back home, and we'll talk about this later.... xoxoxoxo and what is an "mo"...??? A medical oncologist? Sometimes we know more than them anyway.

Sweet Ladies, I wanted to pop in and introduce myself, I have been a lurker on occasion, and I have had the pleasure of meeting several of you on other threads around here. I am an IBCer, diagnosed 08/2013, currently NED and very thankful. I am married, he is a great support, and 2 loving boys who were a handful growing up. They are now ages 27 and 22, and two PRECIOUS granddaughters, ages 5 and 10. I see the sisterhood here, and am thankful. I just wanted to say hello, hoping to get to know each and every one of you over time.Thinking of you all.

Stick to your guns, hon, and as long as you have your paperwork in order, they shouldn't be able to countermand your wishes.
This brings up an important topic, and while no one really wants to talk about it, we all gotta go sometime. it should be on your own terms. I have volunteered with hospice since 2004, and seen too many people trapped longer than they needed to be. I highly recommend that everyone read "the rights of the dying" (or the latest edition is "the needs of the dying") as it has many stories and many situations, and makes the case for ensuring you have your wishes known, how to go about it, and shares several stories from patients that i found inspiring.

she is so alert looking. Doesn't seem like it has been seven weeks. Although mom and dad would probably feel differently with getting up during the night.

JWoo: thanks for the recommendation. I'll be doing some work on that topic in the near future. My Bestie's sister, only 63, had a massive brain bleed. No warning signs. No health problems. Fit as a fiddle. And yet, this happened. Arguments over pulling breathing tube. The two daughters and my bestie (her only sister) on one side, the husband on the other side. Bad drama. Finally all agreed. She passed away within minutes of them pulling the breathing tube. I know I would not want to be trapped in a vegetative state, so I'll be working on this muy pronto.

Pre BC, I said to DH that we needed to get things lined up. Have the graves, headstone with names and DOB (just need to add the date when we die), all funeral arrangements made and paid for, long term care policies, wills, POA and medical paperwork done. Although wills need to be updated. Even getting things in line in case the children need to do Medicaid paperwork on us. Burying my mother, who was a stubborn coot, taught me a lot. I swore I would not put my children through what I went through. DS's MIL just passed and he commented he didn't want to go through that any time soon. When I told him things were lined up and they would just have to call the right people to get things going, we was relieved and surprised we were so far ahead of the game.
