Mae - congrats on stable. Sorry about the snow…. April is notorious for nasty weather. Our GD turns 8 on 4/15. 1st birthday was a blizzard - poor godmother got stuck in Minneapolis. Next year was more snow but not a storm. Just grateful that we have no tornadoes, floods or fires.

I did wind up just making some frozen pasta, seasoned more strongly with the sour cream and onion seasoning and salt. The pasta was an alfredo penne with chicken and it was good. Tonight, making beans, lentils, put in bottom of bowl with an egg or two, one if using cheese. Heat in the microwave, let cool and then chop up in the regular chopper, add some cheese to the mix, heat again to melt the cheese and seasoning will be figured out later.

Good evening sweet ladies (and gentlemen). Storm is pushing threw, but so far not to severe. Bless all the folks affected by this severe weather, family and first responders. Been a rough week, weather wise for sure.

Belated Happy Birthday @shanagirl . You have so much positive spirit in your persona that it is infectious. I hope those scallops were great. One of my favorite dishes. I don't think I've ever had a martini, but it looks "marvelhous, darling". Can't recall who said that.

So very sorry to hear of Carol's passing. Her moniker "sunshine" was a perfect fit for who she was. She bought alot of knowledge and caring spirit to us here and I imagine to others, too. Rest in peace dear Sunshine. I will think of you each time I see a sunflower.

I tried to catch up on 45 posts so Forgive me if I missed an important event or even just looking for support. Love you all dearly and always pray for improvement and pain free days.

Enjoyed a kids birthday party here at our home, as GD turned 11. It was a bit crazy as some didn't know how to swim and we had to have a safety talk first. Moms were great about watching kids like a hawk. DD played the role of lifeguard. The was from Publix, called a Chantilly Lace cake, and it was excellent. For a good laugh, GD asked them to write POOP on the cake. Not only did they do that, they used brown icing to create a good impression of such things. Everyone laughed.

Winkie still here. sigh. She must go home as she still is not eating. I tried, worms, bananas, wet dog food, celery, cherries, outside with hose and of course in the grass. She ate 2cheeries and 2 worms in almost 3 weeks. I am making myself crazy. If DD doesn't come tomorrow, DH will be delivery a huge glass aquarium with Winkie in it. Then I can relax.

In pockets for all and may you find joy in tomorrow.

@irishlove It sounds like your GD have such a fun birthday. I love to hear that kids are still enjoying simple parties at home. Ha and the poo cake is a riot! Oh poor Winkie , you are being such a good caretaker but I can understand your worry. Fingers crossed that Winkie will improve soon.

@mara51506 I'm always intrigued by your recipe combinations, the alfredo penne with chicken sounds delish!

Finally the sun has arrived in NJ,it's been so dreary the past couple of days. Buster was stir crazy yesterday so he will get a nice long walk today. Thinking of all here and hoping your day goes smoothly.😎

Irish - Wow, you have been busy. So glad to hear that your granddaughter's party went well. Sounds like it was a lot of fun and filled with 11 year old humor, e.g. the "poop cake".

Cookie - Glad you've got some sun. I can really relate to being so happy to see it after some dreary days. I think the northeast sometimes can be similar to the northwest where I am. We get so much rain and clouds that then seeing that sun is just heaven, and it does inspire a good walk. I think I'm getting my sun tomorrow, but instead of a walk, I'll be at the clinic getting tortured with Faslodex and Zometa needles and side effects. Oh well, this too shall pass. Enjoy that walk!

Irish, glad the birthday party was a lot of fun for you DGD and lots of eyes on the kids is great as well.

I slept pretty well. Got up to find a large amount of cloths needing a wash, put them all in the larger washer to be more efficient. After this load, must wash my fleecy throw blanket, managed to get some chocolate from an Oh Henry bar that I have so will clean it after the regular cloths. Already done the first vacuum of the day, takes maybe 1 or 2 minutes. I keep the stick vacuum fastened by elastic to a basket that is zip tied so the power bar and stuff inside the storage basket does not fall off the wee counter. Basket holds my bigger chopper, magic bullet and spice grinder. Saves the vacuum from falling as there really is no room in a closet. I also moved a laundry rack from under the sofa to behind a storage box. I can then store more stuff under the couch. I am also thinking I need a smaller chair instead of one useless shelf. Looking to save up for the future and get rid of the shelf and get a chair with two arms so that if I fall in the apartment, I can pull myself up slowly. Have to get back to the whole PT workout. No rush, need to determine how much to save. Paid off one bill for my insurance and am putting that money into savings. I want to see if I can survive on just what I get from disability. Manage shopping in a better way as well. I will see.

I think rice will feature in meals today. First meal will have rice, lentils, black beans and eggs, heated in the microwave so I can chop them up with cheese and reheat until the cheese melts. Will likely use smaller measurements of the rice, lentils and beans to ensure I can eat it all. Will be very filling. Probably use my combined seasoning of kraft dinner cheese powder and garlic, smaller amount, add some salad dressing as a binder. I have gone back to seasoning as I wish and meals taste better to me.

I do hope everyone has a good day and I am in pockets for anyone who needs me.

I am debating something else to make in the future. Instead of using the seasoning up in the mexican rice, I can still prepare the rice and set aside the seasoning in a container and use as needed. Envisioning adding a mexican twist with the seasoning and penne pollo. It has a base alfredo but can add other things to make it more interesting like peppers, beans and lentils. I might do that first. Prepare the pasta frozen first, let cool and put in a container in the fridge and make meals out of that stuff. I will seel.

Edit to the above meal listed. Found a box of mexican rice. Decided to put dry contents in a container so I could measure out what I want. I will take the dry seasoning from that mix and put that in an airtight container and treat as a seasoning that I use.

First meal will have just under a 1/4 cup of the mexican rice, preparing that first, step 2 will simply include heating up the frozen pasta. Once both are ready, just mix them up together to beef up the pasta volume. Step 3 will involve 2 eggs scrambled up in a sprayed bowl, add lentils and beans. Microwave that for 4 mins, put this mix in the chopper with some shredded cheese. Comes out the same texture as ground beef. Spoon a bit of the rice/frozen pasta mix and put in the bottom of the bowl, spoon in the egg/bean and lentil mix and add some butter OR the mild garlic spread. Heat til the cheese melts and spoon everything together. Add a bit of the mexican mix from the package and a small amount of my cheese and garlic powder and bind with sour cream, and the tiniest amount of ranch and or caesar. Salt and a sprinkle of the sour cream and onion seasoning and it should be quite good to me. Lots of steps for me but that is good to have a good meal and have some stuff in the fridge to split in a couple of meals.

Edited, I did do all the steps listed above. Felt like it was too much work but I persisted. The end result was nice, I did use a combo seasoning I came up with of the mexican rice packet, garlic and finally sour cream and onion, put in airtight container and shook it up, added small spoonful of that and a squirt of ranch dressing and a dollop of sour cream. Betweein the 2 eggs, handful of cheese and lentils added to the pasta, it was super filling. When it cools off a bit, will put the rest of the noodles in the same container and do small spoonfuls to go with meat pies or whatever. Turn a less than 2.00 full cost of ingredients based on proportions into multi meals is feels good and was really good.

Tanya, good to hear your Mom's house sold and that she will settle with your sister in NC. That is great.

sf-cakes, I am so sorry this politcal mess made by one person is causing so much stress for you guys and anyone here or in the country worried about the state of things. I will not say anything except this is the dumbest trade war in history and it is affecting millions of people. I am so sorry and in your pocket for things to quiet down for your country and mine too. I get sh1t from my SIL for shopping Walmart but I just told her it is least expensive and I need that.

I think within reason, if anyone is scared about the world, no need not to share it. I think the only thing would be arguing on the politics in general, whose side a person is on. Posting about feelings and effects on your families are well within the allowable discussion. If I am wrong Moderators will correct. We all have empathy and support for each other.

Candy, glad to hear about sclear scans, that is great and that the surgery has gone well too. It is good to see you.

Well, my panic attack yesterday made me realize that I truly do need to get out more and stop worrying over the tiniest ice spots in the world because the rest of the payment was dry. Almost bought more ice salt but decided to chill, temps above freezing a bunch of the time and just get the heck over my panic. I did actually sleep well, have Herceptin today, rebook of last week.

Having leftovers of the bit of the bit of pasta, rice and beans with lentils and cheese, just need to reheat. Will probably serve some with some with a mini pot pie I think. The meal yesterday was incredibly dense but I am glad of that. Stretching meals and making them useful for more than one thing is good in my eyes and saves some money as well. Have gone through what I like to eat as well. No point buying stuff I do not really enjoy. I tend to do that with things like lettuce or the cabbage salads and wind up not eating them. Will stick with beans and their ilk to make many different meals. Will just make sure if any beans need pick up, schedule several trips. I get all the stuff for the cats through Amazon and have that delivered. I do have ham slices in the freezer that I could and should put in the fridge to defrost as well. Could make some nice sandwiches out of that. Leftovers first, might take a spoonful, add a minipot pie and an egg and heat in the microwave and use ketchup and mayo, treat it as more like an omelet. I will see.

I hope everyone has a good day, in pockets for everyone who needs me.

Breakfast meal was just OK, got to say foods are not that interesting to me. Nothing particularly wrong and do not know what foods to get instead beyond the salad greens I am not that excited about. Wondering if black beans, regular rice and cheese with some egg is the best way to go, keep it simple stupid saying comes up. Stop with all the frozen stuff, stick to canned things, english muffins etc. I think I pick up the cheap food because it is easy but it is also really boring for me. I do have cans of peas, corn and potato, would need to chop those up as a fine texture would be better. I do not know. I also am wanting a new microwave that reached 1100 to 1200 w because converting the cooking time is less than the best for me. The 700 W either overcooks or undercooks stuff.

@tanya_djamila It is totally exhausting cleaning out homes physically and emotionally. Glad your mom will be residing with your sister safe and sound. Safe travels, i hope it all goes smoothly.

@shanagirl Congrats on unremarkable, music to our ears!!

@mara51506 Sorry you had a bout with anxiety with the ice. It’s totally understandable with the falls you’ve had in the past. Happy to hear a lovely neighbor helped you with your trash. Good does still exist in the world.

Hi to all here, thinking of Mel and family. Prayers for all here, have a restful evening ❤️
