    Got a bit of extra sleep overnight which was needed. No agenda for the day so far, just going to double check all bills are paid off and how much I can redeem from my rewards on my card that pays rent, should give me some free groceries which is always appreciated.

    I have laundry which is good, bloodstains from Wednesday's Herceptin were successfully removed. Learned how to separate frozen chicken dogs stuck together, apparently, just hammer a knife into the space between dogs. Works well.

    I wound up having some kraft dinner, like 1/4 cup worth and using diced tomatoes, I did not drain the tomatoes so became a tomato sauce to add to the KD. Added some of the cheese that comes with it as well. Seasoned with the standard sour cream and onion dry seasoning. Did not need a binder as it was already full of tomato sauce from the diced tomatoes. I also added two of the chicken dogs that were boiled, just cut up. It was a simple and good meal. Today am thinking of using up a garlic pizza in the freezer and adding more garlic, adding a mix of tomato sauce, queso, pulverized beans to the top with some shredded cheese baking in breville at 425 for about 10 mins. Later doing something with microwaved eggs and beans with a bit of the tomato sauce added, microwave all with a lid, 4.5 mins. Take the egg mix out of microwave, once cool put the eggs, beans chop up with cheese and add to the pan, put cooking spray bit of butter and garlic spread, mix around once on high and turn burner off. Cover with a lid. I do enjoy eggs chopped up with other suff as it comes out similar in texture to ground beef. Add other seasoning as needed. I will post if I have any of these later.

    Putting together a big haul of recycle and garbage. Am debating using my own garbage can for some of it but not sure. I usually use my bags after all the trouble with my own container out back. Also, if I use a container, I have to return it to the back. Bags for garbage and recycle are picked up and no further worry. Will make several trips out on Sunday anyway.

    Edit 1 decided to make a package of ramen, boiled it then ran cold water over the noodles. Added some left over beans and a handful of shredded cheese and lots of garlic spread. Preheated the breville oven to 425 and baked in there for 10 mins, let cool again and added some crumpled chips for crunch and a bit of queso as well. Was good and have some left over. Do something with eggs later on.

    Still have laundry and vacuum. I put my sweeper vac out here close to the living room now to use as needed. Got sweep and vacuum stuff and possible mop to do, I will see. Energy is still low today. Just pulled myself off the Amazon. Was looking a dish scrubbers and realized that I already have sponges and baking soda that could get stuff off dishes along with soaking them

    Morning Happy Sunday to all.Things settled down a bit after a hamster wheel week. My mil has a live in aide for now to get her back on her feet. Hopefully she will regain her strength back that she had peior to her hospital stay. She now needs insulin injections which we are rotating with my DH siblings. DH and I are meeting with a retired nurse who lives nearby to see if she’s interested in helping with the insulin administration. We’ll see one day at a time. DH and I did manage to get in some boating time yesterday which was a much needed reset.

    Mara Seems like you’re a busy bee as usual.I think I’m going to start making sheet pans meals so I can bring some to my mil. Making an Hawaiian Chicken dinner today and will serve it with jasmine rice. There are endless recipes on Pinterest.

    Hi to all here hope you’re having a nice weekend. In your pockets for appointments this week💕

    Cookie, that really sounds good to me. Enjoy your dinner for sure.

    Slept well, got left over laundry, most cloths were done yesterday but have some clothes that got leftover so rewashing with less detergent, will spin and hang up on the shower rod OR the heated dryer rack I have not used in years. Garbage to be taken out. May be more than 3 bags needed, I will see. Since it is HOT, will take out all bags inside the building first and leave by the door, same with recycle, makes for more efficient disposal and fewer trips for me.

    Speaking of HOT, we are on a heatwave alert for the week but I still have not tried all the things I have to stay cool. Got the neck fan, hat with wide brim, evaporative head band and just ordered a couple of hip clip type fans as well, they are well reviewed and not overly expensive. Got two of them. Reason I wanted those as well is just so I can walk places safely. May seem like overkill but I really miss walking to places. They come on wednesday.

    Not sure about food yet, out of frozen pasta and soft tortillas but have some english muffins. I was thinking of taking an english muffin, slicing very thinly with some garlic spread, pulverized black beans and shredded cheese, not too much, need to be able to close the lid of the quesadilla maker, I will see if this could work for me. Option 2 is that I found some greens that I forgot were in the freezer, could heat those up with peppers in a mini griddle with butter and garlic, make up some rice or ramen separately and combine. Option 3 is the cheeseburger Hamburger Helper, no milk so water replaces that and I have butter and sour cream. Adding in some chopped beans and cheese to sub for the ground beef and season as I feel like. I am still undecided so will post actual meals later.

    I hope everyone has a good day, stay cool where it is hot if possible. I am surprised that my apartment is still feeling good. Running window AC, a big fan to bring out to the living room and a couple of fans including the split AC on fan. Every once in a while, I run the cooling but have to shut off because it quickly throws up the error code for short on refrigerant. The fan works well for me.

    Happy Sunday to all. In my gratitude journal, I write down three things I’m grateful for before I go to sleep, and more and more I now write air conditioning down. Lol The older I get, the less I like having to manage the heat .

    Mara - i like to walk same as you, folks swear by the neck fans and I also just bought a wide brim hat and a UPF 50 shirt and hoodie, I’m hoping the special Sun clothing will be cooler… I’ll let you know.

    I’ve been making more juices and smoothies, my latest is beets, ginger, carrots and apples … highly recommend this combo.

    Cookie- glad your MIL is home. Fingers crossed the retired nurse can help out. Caregiving is hard. Glad she is better. The Hawaii chicken sounds delicious.

    rj shaller, I do have sleeves that came with the cooling neck fans, also have uv50 blocking shirt too. Let me know about how your experience goes. Nice juicing. I use frozen fruit and mio flavour enhancer. Usually do a raspberry or cherry flavour.

    I decided to order the double big mac, no bun and got extra beef patty and bacon with gravy and big mac sauce on the side. I plan to separate the patties for different things and put any not immediately used in the freezer. Today I am going to take 1/2 a patty, chop it with beans and shredded cheese. Add this to tortillas spread with garlic and make a quesadilla out of it. The gravy will go with any potato type stuff I make.

    I need to be aware of how much goes in as I want the quesadilla maker to close.

    I used one tortilla, put the garlic spread on the tortilla, added the 1/4 chopped bean and 1/2 meat patty, folded and put into the quesadilla machine, worked out well. I will figure out what to dip it in, may use chipotle and sour cream mix, I will see. I may also use the mac sauce I bought on the side. I put the burger in the fridge, leave it for 3 days then freeze up I think, I will see how quickly I use up ingredients.

    IT WAS DELICIOUS!!!

    My thoughts on the gravy may be to use with potatoes of which I have a lot of them. I usually put a couple eggs and some of the potato, then chop up cooked eggs and potatoes and fry in the pan to add flavour.

    @rlschaller I’m loving the beautiful flowers. Thank you for posting the picture. In your pocket for stable scans, girl🩵

    @rlschaller The flowers are beautiful and the treat meal you had sounds good along with the coffee and cream, glad it was enjoyable. Yes I do like my cooking tools for sure, the quesadilla maker is the best for 11.00 on Amazon. I may start using one tortilla folded as I did before. My thoughts are that allows me to use two later in the day if I wish.

    No quesadilla today, made the noodles from the hamburger helper first, and added a heated 1/2 patty from the Big Mac that was good. Just now, took the leftovers from lunch, added to a sprayed pan, added a bunch of garlic and baked at 375 for maybe 15 mins. Smells like heaven in the house too.

    Second meal with the added burger and garlic and cheese baked was DELICIOUS.

    Shana - Thank you so much for your special note. I can really relate to your not having posted much lately either. I'm not sure just what happened with me, but ever since those shingles I had and my last set of fulvestrant shots, I'm just kind of a fatigued zombie. Can't really think and then when I start to read a paragraph about most anything, I get through a few sentences and then everything seems to fade and become a blurr in my mind and I realize I'm no longer taking in what I'm reading. Also just had some sort of bad gastrointestinal bug or bad food or something like that for the last few days, but I am getting better from that now. It's all just left me weak and brain foggy. I'm still getting most of my walking in though, thank goodness.

    Shana I had read your last post about being so sick while you were in the car with your husband and I so wanted to respond, but that's when all of this seemed to hit, with seemingly no physical or mental strength. It's my "mental strength" that seems to be so lacking lately. I felt so badly for you and still do, as you are going through so much. I wish I could say more, but it would probably wind up just being an unfocused ramble at this point. I think the weather and the higher temps and humidity are contributing to all of this too - maybe for you too? We don't get what some do, but it has been warmer and muggier here than what I can easily tolerate (we've had some lovely days recently too). Just know that I am following along with what you post and have so much sympathy. Wishing you as nice a day as possible - I read that NJ is getting some flash floods? Take care and stay safe!

    Good Morning @threetree, Yes I do totally relate to what you are going though. You’ve dealt with so much physically & emotionally also. I’ve heard how much Shingles takes a toll and yet you’ve also had to deal with the shock and depression brought on you with the liver met issue. So try not to be hard on yourself girl. Day to day Mets is an exhaustingly emotional thing to go thru each day, Jus remember we are all hear for each other, and also you and I kind of came in to all this around th same time, so I have a special place in my heart for you. Stage IV is a rough road to travel. Most of us thought we HAD breast cancer in the past only to discover that it was always there hiding to come out again. As Stage IV. 💕

    Irish, I am sorry as well about the mixup with the meds and the side effects resulting from that. In your pocket about that. Perhaps DD or DGD can get some reading glasses for you or you could possibly order on Amazon. I wear the ones that magnify and provide computer light blockers so my eyes do not get tired. Maybe a separate pill box that keeps the drug separate. Easy to misread stuff.

    Shana, sorry about your jaw as well and in your pocket for support.

    Goldens, our weather here in London would be similar to yours. We are under a heat and air quality warning due to wildfires up north in Manitoba and when they have the right wind smoke goes a long way. Of course people are out exercising and running outdoors with poor air quality and heat. Not sure why they don't go to an indoor walking and running track, at least until it cools a bit. It is boring but people should not take chances. I am waiting for my hip fans, coming tomorrow. Got 2 since they can sit on a computer and blow air at me too, apparently they are pretty powerful. We will see.

    Got the sink cleared AND clean finally. Put some hot water down the drain a couple of times, I heat water to just under boiling and pour down. Keep those nasty drain flies away. After, put a green gobbler stick, it is an enzyme that works to keep drains clear of debris and keep it smelling good. I have heard of putting used tea bags in drain, not broken ones but whole ones and pour hot water over the bags. Still got the wet dry vac and could do a dry vac of any drain but that won't be necessary I do not think. Thinking of buying a second one. I still use the bathroom sink to soak dishes in as well, wee washers work well for soaking silverware when the kitchen sink is not available. Always do a hot water poured down the drain as well. Keep out the drain flies. Planning a good meal, I think. Several steps so will put each one separate.

    Will take two eggs and 1/4 cup of black beans. Mixed together in a sprayed bowl, covered with lid. Heated 5 mins.

    Take the cooled eggs, and beans. Put them in the chopper once cooled and chop up so they have the ground beef texture I like so much. Take the chopped ingredients and top with one of my Mcdonalds meat patties that still have the mac sauce. Add some shredded cheese and put a couple of daubs of garlic spread and bit of queso.

    Bake at 375 to allow good melting of cheese and other ingredients, 15 mins or so. After cooling, eat. This will be delicious no matter any binding like salad dressing, sour cream or more mac sauce. I also guarantee that this will be very filling and likely be part of a second meal. Lots of work for a good meal but worth it. Later will make up some mexican rice, pulverize some beans and add to the rice OR add any leftovers from this first meal to the mix, I will see what I wish to do.

    Edit 1The beans and egg mix listed above was good, followed steps listed above, no binding used or needed since the garlic and queso and cheese provided good flavour and moisture. All things added a dimension to the meal, especially the burger. Will keep getting the double big mac no bun to use as meal additions.

    I have also thought about breaking up the dry ramen, I find the packet limits what I can do with the ramen so if broken up before heating, I can mimic rice in any dish or keep dry ramen pack in a container and use a bit at a time if not feeling the full package. I can heat broken ramen and strain it.

    Laundry and other budget boosting are priority stuff I want to get done mostly as well as keeping tools used in this meal clean as I go along.

    I hope all have a good day, if both meals turn out well, I will post about it later. In pockets for all who need me.

    @intolight

    I was very anxious last year when I had two crowns replaced, but it went really well. Since the work does not invade the jaw, was able to continue as normal with meds. Hope your experience is the same.

    @shanagirl

    Think about you every day with all you are dealing with, but like you, struggle to post as often as I should. Hoping that the dental work proceeds smoothly, with no ONJ - remember, the percentage of patients who develop it is relatively low, so you have a good chance at success 😊The big D could definitely be from amoxicillin. Antibiotics have that effect on me too. If you aren't already including yogurt or other sources of probiotics in your diet, please add some. It will protect the good gut bacteria.

    @threetree

    Following your journey with the new liver development and histotripsy. Thanks for educating me on something that could be in my future. Hoping it turns out to be a quick and painless solution to the problem.

    Healing thoughts and hugs to you all 💗

    Anyone living on or near a flood zone should evacuate or stay home. Water is so dangerous. In pockets for that.

    Irish, don't be too hard on yourself. I am glad you noticed before you took more. I will look forward to reading about the new glasses. I put a roll of packing tape in the old microwave and killed it. Got quite the lecture on that. I don't feel bad about it.

    Threetree, I am sorry for the new liver developments, in your pocket on those for sure.

    Intolight, in pockets sending you support on your new appointment.

    I slept OK, gradually dialing back on bed, go a bit earlier each night as I believe 4 and 5 am are stupid even with the evening nap..

    Laundry, budget boosting and sweeping on the agenda. Played a game of Word solitaire made a few dollars on that which was good. Also breaking down some boxes for recycle earlier, bang it out a little at a time.

    Nothing planned, not sure if DB will call, I usually let them reach out. Nothing much is needed. Got a bunch of chocolate almond Hershey bars. I received my hip fans, they will be handy more in a household use way. It has cooled down enough not to require them right now. They are powerful, that is for sure.

    Stuck on food, I do have black beans to finish up so might put eggs beans and cheese together, microwave and chop up. Add rice to bottom of the pan sprayed canola oil, butter and garlic. Do the usual heat up pan on high then turn off and let all flavours come together. I still have tortillas so may do an egg themed quesadilla with lots of toppings.

    Edited, no tortillas at home right now but still got some english muffins, I am amazed they are not moldy as they are old but whatever, will just top with the stuff I have on hand, garlic cheese and an egg that is chopped up. I want to see how the quesadilla maker handles them. Will post the result later, just got my roller for the kitchen.

    Edit 2,I did cut up and english muffin, they are really dry but with the cheese and garlic spread, they were fine. Just put an egg on top, exploded in the microwave but that is OK, going to steam some water to clean up. Lucky there was a lid on it. End result was a very nice flattened garlic muffin with cheese, obviously cannot be as flat as a quesadilla but was flat in the meantime. Put together a grocery order that will come later today, no frozen meals, couple of the queso cheese bowls, some more Kraft Dinner, 2 bags of chips, cheese and sourcream flavour, some will be chopped by the spice grinder and used as seasoning, some will be snacks. I am debating trying out the regular bus when I only need odd items. Not sure why I am nervous about that, I have not even asked for the ramp to be put down at this point but it would be free there and back in the day and after 6.

    Enough about me, I tried to trim the post, but whatever. I will edit about any meal that is good and I am hoping for a good day for all, safety for those dealing with new cancers. In pockets for all who need me.
