After persistently telling my Oncologist I was feeling some activity in my left breast, where my tumours were found at metastatis in 2020, I opted to get a breast surgeon to give me a referral for a mammogram and Ultrasound. I was right coz they discovered a 0.5cm lesion. Upon further investigation via an MRI, three more wre seen, in the same breast, plus the original 3 metastases lesions originally seen in the liver, and which PET-SCANS of 2024, and April 2025 did not see. So I guess a biopsy is next. I'll know for sure when I discuss this outcome with the Oncologist plus a second opinion.

The moral of my story......always follow your gut instinct. And if the doctor of whatever specialisation isn't listening, go to someone who will listen. Having said that, I really wonder if doctors ever stop to listen to their patients?? Do they know how to listen when the patient, the owner of the body they are treating, actually opens their mouth to speak? Is there any part of their training that teaches them to listen? Or do they all have tunnel vision? Too often, they outrightly dismiss a development that cannot be explained by their book learning or personal experience with other patients. FYI, im good, I'm moving on to the next treatment step. I've no anger because this happens anyway. Medications do stop being effective at some point.

@kbl Many thanks to you. It was from your story of 6 years missed diagnosis where I learnt that PET-SCANS are not the be all and end all in breast cancer diagnosis. That sometimes the PET-SCAN will actually miss to see the cancer and then the MRI spots what the PET-SCAN missed. Your cancer journey is a testimoney and learning point for all of us. Sending my love prayers and hugs to you.💖💖🫂🫂🙏🏻🙏🏻

My Oncologist just repeating over and over again how the PET-SCAN didn't find anything, and for that reason we've nothing to worry about. How, "You know, Cancer never comes noisily, it comes quietly. So i dont think theres anything to worry about. This is most likely something else." But I just wasn't buying it.

Hi. My name is Sarah. It's my cat Gretchen in my profile picture. I was on the MBC Wednesday Zoom at 4 p.m. ET. Aug. 6. I hope I am posting to the right place. I noticed on that call lots of women introduced themselves to me mentioned mets in their sternum. Does that feel like anything? Ever since my lung collapse last August (2024), I seem to be more focused on that part of my body.

Anyway, if you find this message and you have sternum mets, did you feel or notice anything?

    Thanks so much for reading.

    Sincerely,

    Sarah C.

  • @skcintn - you found the correct thread to continue chatting with the Zoom groups.. You might also want to post something on the bone mets thread about you question regarding your sturnum (https://community.breastcancer.org/en/discussion/789492/bone-mets-thread#latest).

Hope to see you on Wednesday.

@skcintn - Hello, I don't do the Zoom group (but think about maybe trying it), and I have mets to my sternum. I found out because I had a fracture while I was in the shower. I just got that all over feeling that something was terribly wrong, so I got out and continued to feel strange, so at some point went to the ER and they did scans that showed the mets and fracture. I had already had mets to spine and ribs.

@threetree Hi ! Thank you so much for sharing your experience with me. That sounds really painful. I appreciate the clarification about the intense pain. (Although I’m very sorry you went through that!!) it’s hard for me to know when something is a symptom or when is just my body being weird. For the past few weeks Ive had the sensation of something “stuck” in my upper chest. Sometimes it’s prominent and sometimes it’s not. It’s like there’s a piece of bread that I haven’t quite swallowed. And it came on really strong right after last week’s round of injections. It’s probably just stress related because it doesn’t sound like what you are describing.

I went to the zoom for the first time last Wednesday. It was refreshing, reassuring, and very helpful. I felt way less alone.

I hope you are having a good day today. Thanks so much for responding!

Great pic, thank you for sharing. I saw a post recently and my first thought was to send it to her 😔

Though sad, Kris lives on in my thoughts and when I see or hear Sally Field.

Greetings to the Wednesday group Sisters! Thought I’d share a couple photos of our adventure yesterday to Burney Falls. Incredible waterfalls! And saw an eagle with a fish in its talons flying over! Heading Crater Lake tomorrow. Sending love and blessing to you all. Jenene

Hallo Monday group, Im back from my vacation in Zanzibar amd Arusha. It was indescribably 💯perfect. and I had a wonderful time.

While I was away, Kris (kbl), passed. I feel the pain in my heart because she leaves a huge gap in that space where her love, knowledge, wisdom occupied. She was a shining example of how to manage MBC. And her decision to put quality over quantity remains embedded in my memory as a demonstration of courage and self empowerment. Rest in peace until we meet again dear Kris. We love you and miss you.

    @rlschaller thanks Rhonda 😊

@illimae I watched the "Thursday murder club!! I absolutely looved it. That cast. adds to the fun. Senior citizens like me, doing stuff nobody wants them to do... 🤣🤣🤣🤣. Hope Nerflix can stream more episodes. I wish it was a series 🤗❤️

Another good watch is the "Book Club!!" LOL!! What a bunch of livable women. They give me courage to stand up and be counted as a self-empowered woman regardless of what any ageist society says!! 👍👍 More power to us 💪💪💪

Sending love and blessings to all.

Yay, I glad everyone enjoyed it.

Rose, there’s some early talk of making movies from the 2nd and 3rd books with the cast and director all for it, I’d love that too, we’ll see.
