Welcome back Karen, you have been missed! With all that has been going on in the world, you have been in my thought and your daughter in my prayers. Congrats on the wedding preparations, it will be beautiful.

Got to the gym 4 times last week, yeah! Unfortunately this week work will overtake my schedule again and I only have 2 gym days…will need to up the walking and stair climbing (my office is on the 4th floor, but it is 6 flights of 15 steps to get to the 4th floor - go figure).

Wow Ruth, it looks like fall weather is sinking in. According to maps in the Washington Post, your area is heading into peak leaf season…here in SE Virginia we are a month away.

It was hot & humid here all weekend & last night just about the whole state was under a tornado watch. NOT normal September weather for North Dakota! We had short 2 spells of high winds & downpouring rain & I had one flowerpot tipped over, but no other damage. Thank goodness!

Just more dog walks for me, although I am getting my carpets cleaned tomorrow,; so I am getting exercise dragging any moveable furniture into closets & rooms without carpet. I thought we'd be out of the rain/mud season by now!

    mychapter: Congratulations on completing chemo!

TT: 6 flights of 15 steps to get to the 4th floor? That's crazy!

Ruth: Your weather is scary. Glad you didn't have any damage.

I didn't walk this weekend bc the lower part of my legs hurt - shin splints maybe??? I'm better now so walked early this evening.

This week the weather is a bit cooler - I'm enjoying the cool mornings and evenings. It's dark after dinner when we walk but before work, it is light. I'll miss that after the time change in November. I like the light this time of year and in the spring just before the time change.

I still don't have a regular assignment but I'm supposed to get a couple more evaluation cases. Tomorrow, I have my Beginning of the Year conversation with my manager.

A beautiful day here. We took a long walk out at a recreation area with nobody around but us!

Beautiful looking day, Ruth. One of those last before fall takes a stronghold.

We are in the midst of a monsoon, 5 days straight of rain. Yesterdays totals would have equaled two feet of snow if it has been snow instead of rain, my DH shared that at dinner, not sure why the radio news was thinking of that as we never get that kind of snow fall in SE Virginia.

Because of the rain, got to the gym last night instead of having a girlfriend over for wine and talk on the patio…that makes three times this week so far.

    Happy Wednesday, TT

It's been raining part of every day. It started raining when we were walking after dinner but only for a couple minutes, so we got our walk in. Rained lots last night. Nice weather during the day.

My daughter has picked out her wedding dress. It's the one she like a couple weeks ago and is gorgeous. She will be a beautiful bride. She sent pictures to her 2 BFF who live in America and I'm sure to her roommate who is getting 5 weeks before her. We were talking wedding stuff in general, not specific to her wedding. I asked her if we were supposed to get her a wedding present. The sweetie said no, that we were paying for the wedding (along with her fiance's parents) and that is their wedding present. She needs to taking him shopping to get his suit. My dress has shipped - now I need to find flats. I have a new pair of heals but I'm not sure I want to wear them.

WE are over staffed at work so I won't have a school for a while. I just got assigned two more evaluation cases. I had my beginning of the year conversation today. All good.

I need to stop snacking at night - need to shed at least 5# and really 10#. I have skirts that I bought when my weight was done and they don't fit now.

They have to find an apartment and a few other things. But everything is moving along on track. The wedding is in 3 months and 2 weeks - not that I'm counting.

Karen, wear flats to the wedding! Nothing ruins a fun time like having uncomfortable feet!! If you want to share pictures of her dress and/or your dress here; I know both. as recent mothers-of-the-bride/groom, both Wonderland & I would love to see them! My niece is getting married in the spring, & my SIL is so picky that I don't think she will ever find a dress!! When DS got married, instead of presents, he & his bride asked guest to contribute to a list of charities (Doctors without Borders, Humane Society, American Cancer Society were 3 that I remember) which I thought was so sweet,

It is raining here too. We'll see if there are breaks for walks or if I need to get a raincoat out. It's a good day for making cookies…..and I need to make cookies for a benefit on Saturday, so that is the plan.

Karen: How exciting that your DD found her wedding dress! That's a big relief off of her. Hope you like your dress you ordered - please post a picture if you feel comfortable doing that. The dress I ordered fit me nicely. I had to lose a few pounds for it to fit even better. That was a good incentive to lose some weight.

Ruth: Your pictures look like it's hot one day and cold the next. Your recreational area is so inviting.

TT: Hopefully you can meet your friend soon to sit on the patio and drink wine. Sounds like a fun relaxing time. I've seen the weather reports about all the rain you have had.

Unlike ya'll, we have had gorgeous weather. It's in the 80s but the dew points have been comfortable. My county's small agricultural fair is this week. There are animal, vegetable, art and crafts, sewing, etc competitions among local county residents and of course fair rides and games. It reminds me of the Andy Griffith show when Aunt Bea entered her pickles in the fair competition. My granddaughter, ds, and his partner are coming this Saturday to attend the fair. I can't wait to see her look at all the animals and especially the biggest pumpkin entered.

Yesterday I trimmed bushes and cleaned up the mess it created for about 2 hours. The front of the house looks much better. DH and I walked late this afternoon.

I'm happy to post a picture of my dress. It is one from the "catalog" I do need to loose 5# (at least) for it to be comfy.

Wedding dress will have to wait till after the wedding. I know she has shared photos of it with her few closest friends., but I want to wait to share till after the wedding. The dress is gorgeous and she will be a beautiful bride. She already bought white sandals to wear for Chuppah (ceremony) and then she is getting new Addidas Stan Smith white shoes to wear for dancing.

Whatever shoes I wear for Chuppah, I will be changing into my running shoes for dancing and dinner.

debating between black or silver shoes for Chuppah. I’m looking for a new pair of Saucony to wear for dancing and dinner. I hope my dress fits as well as the “try on at home”.

VERY pretty! What company did you order it from? (I got mine online too, from Azazie.)

Thanks. JJsHouse. I ordered try on from Azazie and JJsHouse. My favorite looking at pictures was from Azazie but it didn't look good on. It just shipped so I should have it by the beginning of October. I hope it fits as well as the one I tried on. My daughter has grape/plum for the mothers and lilac for the sisters and bridesmaids. My granddaughter can wear whatever her mom picks out according to the bride 😀

I got a letter from my medical oncology practice. His NP is going to start seeing patients every other visit. Also he is changing how he does labs etc. Now he is going to do them separate (so not right before visit) from the visit and any infusions might be a different date as well. He only takes new patients - no "transfer" patients. I have my 6 month check up in November - I guess I'll find out if I'm seeing him or the NP. I need to talk to him about my osteoporosis (hematalogist as well in October) as I've been on Zometa 2.5 years and Prolia before that I had a 8.8% decrease in bone density in the lumbar spine in 2 years.

    Have a great week-end.

Karen: Your dress is gorgeous and will look so pretty on you. Love the color. Hope you like the NP.

I walked with a friend this morning. This afternoon I met another friend to play Mahjong. She won all but 1 game.

I was in the kitchen all morning; I made dinner for our friend whose wife is ill & I promised to make 3 dozen cookies for a benefit. A nice dog walk in the afternoon.

Hope everyone had a nice weekend! I will dog walk today & go to the new Downton Abbey movie with some girlfriends.

Ruth: That's so nice that you cooked dinner for your friend and his wife. Wish I had watched Downton Abbey when it originally started. There are too many seasons and episodes for me to start watching it now. I wouldn't get anything done.

Went to the county fair with my granddaughter on Saturday. Had a great time except it was hot. All the big animals had already gone home but we did get to see bunnies and roosters. DS played a game and won a stuffed animal for gd!

Yesterday I went to my Girl Scout camp to help set up for next weekend's big weekend-long event for adults, no girls. I'm really looking forward to it but it's supposed to rain each day. Being in the woods in the damp rain is icky but the weekend is so fun that it makes up for being wet. I'm in charge of helping people make Thanksgiving turkeys using walnuts and hazelnuts. This is a picture of the male - there is also a female one. My cat likes to "help" me with any project I do. Looks like he wants to eat it lol.

Today I started going through my kitchen cabinets - cleaning them, throwing away expired food, removing things I don't use anymore, etc. Still have more to go through.

Very cute turkeys, Wonderland! I hope the weather forecast for the weekend is wrong! I need to go through all my cupboards, drawers & closets too. It will be such a job that I even hate to start. The movie was very good. Not only the plot but the costumes, scenery and grand old houses as well.

    Beautiful blue sky!

I had lunch today with my 2 sisters, brother, sil and bil. They all drove an hour away from different directions to have lunch with me at my favorite restaurant bc tomorrow their little sister turns 70! As always, it was wonderful to see them. Luckily I come from a close knit family and we only live an hour from each other.

    Walked this evening.

Happy Birthday Wonderland! Glad you got to have a lunch with your brother/sisters and bonus brother/sister!

Beautiful dress Karen, the wedding will be stunning.

Another beautiful fall day for your walk Ruth, it looks like you are at that point of fall with cool mornings (the WWW pictures) but frequently warm and nice afternoons, perfect!

Got to the gym Sunday/Monday and hope to get there later today, but school is getting overwhelming and it is still September, how can that be… Well, I should say school/classes and teaching is fine. Being Department Head is overwhelming.

    Take care everyone. TT

Wonderland, a very happy birthday to you! It sounds like you have a fun day planned.

TT, I never enjoyed fall until I retired because fall was such a busy time trying to get the school year off to a good start , working out the bugs etc. I was either at school or thinking about school stuff!

We are having delightful weather. Cool in the morning, 70s in the afternoon & no wind (very rare for North Dakota!). Here's the Wednesday Walking Women.

TT: I hope work slows down at least a little bit for you.

Ruth: As always, a great WWW picture.

Thank-you for the birthday wishes. My day started off crazy. My sisters (who drove an hour to get here in the dark) and DD surprised me with flamingos in the yard! They were made 34 years ago by my family when my sil had a big birthday. They occasionally "fly" around to different locations for celebrating special occasions. It was my turn today! DD also left a coffee and donuts for me. This afternoon I met my friend to play Mahjong. She kept apologizing to me bc she won every single game we played. She felt bad bc it's my birthday. I thought it was hilarious! I ended the night was having dinner with dh and DD. Her husband not able to join us so it was just the 3 of us. Perfect day to celebrate 70 years!

Wonder - Happy 70th! Love the Flamingo.

It rained all day Tuesday - 24 hours of rain - quite unusual for Denver. My husband wore rain pants over his suit pants and a Gortex rain jacket to walk to synagogue. It only got to 53 so damp, wet and cold. WE got over an inch of rain. I managed to walk when it wasn't raining too hard to didn't get too wet =, but I got to a different synagogue that is only 10 minutes - DH walks 25 minutes. Today was gorgeous. high 70s and low 80s for the next week. Peak leaf colors are this week-end which is early.

My dress arrived today. One part of the zipper is almost impossible to zip up. Tried it on with the heels that I have - that I bought several years ago for my DD and have never been worn. They look great with the dress. They will come off after chuppah and pictures and running shoes will go on. I hope I can manage wearing them for 45 minutes to an hour. The hat I thought i would wear doesn't look good, so thankfully I have a new black hat. Going to look for silver and see what looks better. It will be too hard to match the color. I will wear different classes - black one. I have several pairs as I buy them online and are very affordable.

I need to buy a travel steamer that works both here in America as well as international. We have one that is very old but something more up to date.

Monday, my daughter told me the wedding is in 100 days. So now I can count down the days. The 3 months till we leave will go fast.

Very nice, Karen! The shoes look classy & a silver hat might be an elegant touch. How fun to plan for a wedding! My niece in getting married in April with a 'garden party' theme; so I've been looking around for a dress that might work. I found one online that I liked. I've ordered it but it hasn't shown up yet, so I don't know if will work or not.

I am starting to get organized for a fun vacation. On Sunday, DH & I fly to Portland. The next day we leave for a cruise down the Columbia & Snake Rivers. Lots of history, beautiful scenery, and delicious food involved! For sure, two dog walks today!

Karen: I LOVE your dress! It looks lovely on you and your smile tells it all. Perfect color for you. Cute shoes.

Ruth: Wish dh and I were going on the cruise with you. That's the next one (if we go on another one) that I would do. Have fun!

Been getting ready for my Girl Scout weekend at camp. It's going to rain all day on Saturday. Ugh.

    Walked early this evening.

    Ruth - enjoy the cruise.

Ruth and Wonder - thanks for the compliments on the dress. My daughter picked the color scheme for the wedding. She really likes the black hat. I looked online for silver and there was nothing in my style. When I get to Israel, I may look in my hat store that I usually shop at. I've had the black shoes for several years sitting in the shoe box. I bought them online for a bargain and thought my daughter would wear them. I think it was Payless and they went out of business.

Wonder - have fun at the girl scout week-end. I miss having a girl scout selling cookies. Girls don't come to the door anymore, so I usually get at a booth sale. With no kids at home I only buy what they want when they visit so maybe 6 boxes. When they were little I bought 2 dozen boxes and they would last a year. I haven't eating them in years.

I've developed a cold this afternoon - runny nose and sneezing. Sure hope this is all it does.

This week-end is the peak color of Aspen trees in the mountains but they are predicting rain/snow for the high country.

    Have a great week-end.
