@cookie54 - Hoping to give you a boost re your upcoming flu shot. Got my flu shot this morning around 9 am. It's about 3 pm here now, and so far so good. The nurse told me that it just really varies and some have troubles and some don't, even though it's the same shot. I suppose by this evening I might not be as OK as I am now, but I'm taking this as a good sign for both of us, and wishing you luck.

Thanks @cookie54 . I did get a little extra tired as the day wore on and overnight, but again, I think you'll do great! This wasn't bad at all, and I just hate shots …

@wren44 Thanks for sharing your positive news. How do you make your Depression Cake? Sounds like you had a very nice visit.

I'm a week out now from my hip replacement. I just went out to the backyard since it is sunny today. Felt very good to be out in the fresh air instead of on the couch or at the computer. Doing my little exercises, walking around the house, cooking my meals. I'll have PT coming and the nurse later-think the bandage covering my stitches is coming off today.

Another weird sleep cycle. I wound up sleeping on couch til 7am but still wound up going to bed which had me waking up at noon. Still feel pretty good regardless. Only thing that is annoying me are the little black bugs flying around, moved litter over to a container that I keep the scooped stuff in, scoop ASAP and cleaned out the other container I was keeping it in. Got apple cider vinegar traps set around the house, one in living room, two in kitchen. I originally blamed the litter but now wondering if drains are the problem. Bathroom sink is always plugged up. Will continue the hot water down the drain I guess. The traps do work to catch a lot and perhaps come winter they will f*ck the heck off.

I was planning to walk to the pharmacy for the loperemide but almost tripped over the wheel so decided not to walk there, prescription will arrive tomorrow. I think the best thing for me is to practice going around the block or up and down the street, I will see, lots of fear involved but rather stay safe than fall and DB being contacted and SIL getting pi$$ed off. Need to make sure I can walk to places and walker may not be the right thing for me. Paratransit is the way to go. I plan to skip the walker totally. I am exercising legs both from bed and on top of automan. Need to strengthen legs even with sitting on couch or in bed, saved youtubevideos on that. My ankles are super strong.

@irishlove - Oh Irish, I am so sorry to hear about what's going on with you. Not fair! I sure hope the doxicycline does the job. No need for any apologies whatsoever. I understand wanting to keep up with posts, but sometimes it's just not easy or possible. I've not been able to keep up with posts when I've had far less going on than you do. Please just take it easy, take care of yourself as best you can, and maybe get a second opinion or something? I agree, it seems like perhaps they should have kept you initially. I'm in your pocket for sure, Irish, thinking of you with fingers crossed. Get well soon!

@candy-678 - Yes! A good report - good news indeed!

@candy-678 I am so happy to hear the news.

I slept well last night. Did not go anywhere or hear from DB at all for going out purposes. I do not need groceries at this time anyway. I chickened out on going to pharmacy myself so not keep the walker, a cane is fine in most instances. If I was stuck taking the bus when Paratransit too busy, I could walk to the bus stop. It is funny though, I have a lot of free rides on PT, was checking my card and I have 6 rides credited. Not sure why but I do not mind.

On the agenda today, a massive amount of laundry to get done, running out of cloths. May use up ALL washers and do everything at once, doubtful that it would overpower the power set up myself. I have soaking dishes, a litter area to clean out. I have stopped using the litter genie because I really believe the black bugs, tiny little bastards came from the bag IN the litter genie. Planning to dump all litter and give area a thorough cleaning and long overdue vacuum. I have never had so many all at once, it is crazy until I got the litter genie. Clean out all sinks and pour hot water on the daily. My traps catch a lot of them at least but obviously an on going problem. I am aware they could be coming from another apartment through the shared plumbing, that is a possibility so plugs are put in all the time.

Not sure on food, probably have one of the queso pasta bowls I bought, has a lot of good chicken. Later, heat up some eggs and regular beans in a mini griddle and make up an egg in there. If I do not want that, microwave egg and beans, chop up with cheese and chips for flavour and throw mix in frying pan.

I am presently waiting on prescription I failed to get yesterday, it is coming, going to wait for it before pulling down treadmill to use it. Tigger will be mad but too bad. He is on it on the daily. Loves it, I put a blanky up there for him. Ava has taken the bathroom now, either sitting in window sill or on toilet lid.

I hope everyone has a good day and in pockets for all.

candy-678, good news makes us happy!

Irish, oh no. You have enough struggles without the ER mucking around pneumonitis and ground glass opacaties. They really need to get a better handle on that type of diagnosis for mbc patients. I had a similar experience three years ago. I went back to the ER three times, in three successive weeks. Finally I was so ill they had to admit me and it took a week of constant IVs before I was cured. In the end there were a host of hospital personnel involved because they feared they had miss diagnosis in the beginning. Don't let up on it…keep insisting on treatment.

@irishlove I am so sorry you are ill again, I agree that docs need to treat us a bit differently when it comes to illness for sure as our symptoms could be caused by cancer and SE of the drugs we are on and whether they interact with the drugs we take.

Just made a giant grocery order 30 packs of ramen noodles, 27 cents each, plan for those will be to fill out pasta meals I enjoy, 5 cans of black beans, no longer getting the stuff that comes in a sauce, any saucy beans left will get a rinse. I do think the chili and beans was what made me sick in the MR room not so much the contrast as they said it has not changed. Going to ask for ondansetron from RO next week on Thursday to take when getting contrast and eat a bit lighter too.

I got more stuff for a person that moved out. The instapot and food belonged to the same former resident, today a small package was on the mailbox where mail from amazon is never put. I picked it up and it is more schick blades to go along with the other free blades, wondering if the former resident had signed up for monthly deliveries.

Candy Happy to see you got good news!! Hope you will enjoy a relaxing weekend now.

@irishlove Ugh I'm so sorry to hear about your latest illness and the hospital debacle. I'm dumping endless containers of lego's( per Mara's idea) for all of them to step on barefoot for you! Ridiculous! Sending healing vibes, strength and hugs your way.

@goldensrbest Oh that sounds like great healing for the soul. Happy to hear you truly enjoyed your time away.

@mara51506 Sounds like you're stocking up for the winter. Hope it's a good quiet winter for all. Good idea to get meds for next MR, nobody wants nausea while in there!

@cookie54 I am doing fine, forgot to complete my posts, need to keep my mind on one thing at a time. ☺️

    Go

It is rainy today, as it normally is, wind and rain to remove the leaves from trees, oh well, that is fall. We have Christmas commercials interspersed with Halloween commercials. As soon as Thanksgiving is over in Canada, in swoops Christmas. Time goes by quickly.

I have no real activities, will wash some blankets that need it and work to pull out the box that has been holding recycle stuff to see if walker will fit or just to leave walker where it is, my thought. If it will fit in the closet in the living room, can store in the closet or where it is now, not too bothered. Found that it is handy to hold on to the walker while brakes are on and do a fast march with legs, essentially treadmill but on the spot. I can go nuts for a couple minutes. Treadmill still used couple times a week, PT type exercises when I feel like it, a lot have been modified do lying in bed and waking up. Ti gger is also enjoying his seat atop the treadmill. I put a fleece blanket up top for his comfort and my ability to keep it cleaner.

I am at a loss at what to make for breakfast and other meals. Went nuts on ramen noodles since they were 26 cents on sale, still break them up as a prefer a shorter noodle. Thinking I can break up a bunch and keep in airtight container and use as needed. Keep the seasoning handy for different dishes.

Got a craving for an egg mcmuffin meal so ordering now in order to get the hashbrowns that go with it. Just ordered now, extra butter and mayo on it, got some tea and two hashbrowns, later today will make some eggs and cheese type vibe in the frypan. Will eat by 6pm so I can be in bed a bit earlier as I have Herceptin tomorrow.

EDIT. the egg mcmuffin meal was delicious of course, added butter and mayo as stated above. Not sure what I want for dinner yet. Part of me wants to fry up a couple of piles of shredded cheese and serve an egg with it, would need to be prepared separately, thinking breville oven to do the cheese, put some garlic on top to make it crispy and an egg in the mini griddle. Just plate them and possibly add some sour cream. I will post if I make that.

I do hope everyone has a good day and in pockets for all as well. Hoping better days for @irishlove , @micmel and others. @micmel 's posts really rankles me the most as she is having withdrawal whilst on cancer drugs and her SE from those. Still in those pockets.
