Wednesday Weigh In

I stayed the same. I'm worried about the holidays too!

Yesterday I was up .5, measured before I traveled cross-country to Seattle for a conference…that was a long day.
Will have to keep vigilant, remembering it is a work trip, not a food vacation. Gratefully many of the best Pacific Northwest items are fish!

down the .5 that I was up last week…not bad as I was on business travel 4 days this week.
All said, I have been stuck at the same place for a month when I actually need to lose 10 more pounds…but will by okay if I stay the same +/- between now and New Years.

I feel the same way, trmtab.
I will weigh at the gym today.

Down 1.....whoo hoo! Once Thanksgiving hits, if I could manage to stay wherever I am through the holidays, I would be thrilled!

Agree Ruth
Thanksgiving, DH b'day (65!), 5 day trip to NYC, Christmas (parties), NYE…it will be a lot
Got to Tai Chi at lunchtime…every little bit counts

Ruth, I picked up your lost lb. I'm struggling. On the plus side I'm down from the weight on Monday after an excessive weekend. I know some changes that need to be made. Just need to make them.

Down 1…finally off the same number that I have been at +/- .5 for a month, one can only hope!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone, TT

I surprisingly lost another pound!
Happy Thanksgiving! I am going to TRY to eat moderately. 🤞

Down .5
A miracle given Thanksgiving and all the extras that linger… off to NYC tomorrow for a 4 day trip (during which we will celebrate DH's 65th birthday!)…next Wednesday's weigh in will be interesting…TT

Enjoy your trip and celebration, trmtab. I admire your half lb. loss.
I will weigh later at the gym but know but weighing on the bathroom scale this morning that I am up from Thanksgiving travel and hamburger lunches on the road and from Thanksgiving eating.

Happy Birthday to DH, TT! Enjoy your getaway!
Probably because I have my annual physical tomorrow, I have been very good & lost another pound....although my Book Club meets tonight so I know I'll weigh more tomorrow than I do today!

My calculations that factor in the weight of my shoes and clothing tell me that I was up 2 lbs yesterday. A few days prior, I was up more than that. Restaurant food always causes bloating and fluid retention. It must be the salt.
We don't have an active social life during the pre-Christmas season with a round of parties but there are a couple of dinners and then Christmas day. So I don't expect to be losing weight. I would be happy to maintain.

Yesterday I was down 1 lb. Tonight is a Christmas dinner at an event place. Sure to be lots of carbs on a buffet. Not a good outlook for the lost lb. LOL.

Have fun Carole.
I gained two pounds over my 5 night trip to NYC…have already lost .5 of that…totally worth it! Onward. 😊

I was down .5. I have been very good about portion control & if I want an evening snack, I have a yogurt or energy bar or piece of toast. Of course, I will eat everything on the actual holidays, but will be happier if I go in at a lower weight.

Good advice, Ruthbru.

Lost my NYC gain plus an extra .5
My lunchtime gym crowd is going to lunch after our class today…Tai Chi then Thai food😁

I was okay, but just went to a Holiday Brunch so am not going to step on the scale again today!

You're doing great, trmtab. And I don't blame you for not weighing again, Ruthbru!
Yuck on me. I'm up 2 lbs. Too much cold weather cooking.

Merry Christmas to both of you. No weigh-ins for me for a while. I hope to do better in 2026!

I was up 1 this morning, which is not surprising ! Let's enjoy the holiday & we'll get back on the wagon when it's over!

Love your attitude, Ruthbru!

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and as the holidays continue. I have been weighing, same on Wed up 2 today (Friday), but agree with Ruth that the ups and downs over the holidays are fine as we will move swiftly into Jan and a fresh start. It was 60 on Christmas Day so DH and I went for a walk from our home to our festively decorated downtown complete with temporary ice rink open and full of skaters on Xmas Day!

The YMCA closes at 11 am today, so I won't be weighing on their scale after senior exercise, as I usually do. I weighed on my evil bathroom scale this morning and I'm about the same as before Christmas. 2 lbs up. That's down considerably from my after-Christmas high weight. I've been very strict with my portions and choices the last couple of days and got rid of a lot of bloat from carbs, sugar, and alcohol.
Happy New Year to both of you. It's so helpful to report every Wednesday. Maybe we'll get some more people trying to lose weight in 2026.
My 2026 goal is to lose the extra 2 lbs and 10 lbs additional. A big challenge.

Down .5 this a.m. but I will start cooking the New Year's Eve party food shortly, so tomorrow won't be so good😀, but we will have had a nice party for a bunch of mid-60's folks.
My goal at the beginning of the year 2025 was to really concentrate on the Tamox/covid weight gain … like the freshman-15, the covid-19 became my 2025…if all those numbers made any sense!
Well, I have lost 19lbs this year, woo hoo. Just today when I had lunch with my 90.5 y.o. mother, she said "I don't know, you have always been such a gym person, but I think you look slimmer". One can only hope.
I'll join you Carole on this continued crusade with enjoying life and trying to stay healthy in 2026!
Happy New Year, TT

I'm up one pound, which isn't bad. I always joke that my lifelong weight crusade could be a soap opera called, "The Edge of Fatness". So my goal is to not fall off the edge!
TT, muscle weights more than fat. So if you've toned up, you will look slimmer even if you haven't lost weight!
Here's to a healthy, slimmer New Year!

Ruthbru, lol at The Edge of Fatness. Fits me to a T. I was tall and slim until bc cut off the hormone therapy. It has been a struggle ever since and getting older factored in, too. I would really like to see if losing weight would make some prescription meds I take unnecessary.
TT, 19 lbs is phenomenal!
I'm curious about the new weight-loss drugs for obese people. Will they prove to be a good thing? Thank goodness I don't qualify.
