@chicagoan The nurse called back after my initial call, no need to worry about infection, they are bringing the alcohol swabs to wipe down my staples and a clean staple remover. They are coming around 10 am. Once staples out, can go back to wigs.

The stitches are out, they were not staples, had to disinfect my sewing scissors, cut them first and then use disinfected tweezers to pull them out and disinfect area once done. I am glad they are gone. Giving it a day or two before I wear my wigs

BONE SCAN came out no changes everything stable😉🥳
@irishlove I always wouldget so frustrated after typinga paragraph comment her and then suddenly lose it. then I just don’t want tostart all over again with the same thought. so what I do now when I post here is I drag the curser over the paragraph hit select all and copy so it is saved in my iPad’s memory and if I lose it I go back to the comment space and hit paste, and the whole paragraph is restored.
@mara51506 It’s great that you are back into your schedule around the house and getting the things done that you want. Also your SiL helping you. It makes me happy to read your positive comment about being back home.🥰

@shanagirl Great news about your bone scan! Onward-you may very well make it to your eighties😄
5 -
@shanagirl Thank you for remembering everyone so well. You are amazing even going through all of your own pain and struggles. I rejoice that your scans show you are stable. Hooray!
Yes, here in Colorado we are expected to receive snow this weekend, but it has been a relatively dry season so far this year and our mountains desperately need it. I plan to hunker down and stay home. My DD has to work the ER all weekend so pray for her safety. She works the 3pm to 3am shift which are her final two shifts in her four months of extra trauma training. She is still fighting the flu/cough but hopefully another day home today will help her. Her task today is to help me shave my head as the chemo has kicked in and I am losing my hair by the brushfull. My scans yesterday showed numerous lesions in both spine and liver so we soldier on.
9 -
@intolight I’m sorry to hear about your hair loss. Prayers for your daughter that she rests up and starts to feel better.💓
6 -
@intolight I am so sorry that you are losing your hair. I hope the chemo eliminates all those lesions. Prayers for your daughter as she travels and works on this challenging weekend. God's peace to you.

I "posted" this earlier this morning, but now I see that it never actually showed up:

@intolight May your chemo kick butt on those lesions! Hugs your way, losing your hair is never easy😞. Hope your daughter starts to feel better soon and is able to power through work.
@mara51506 Glad your stitches are out and you can get back to wearing wigs soon!

Shana - great news on bone scan🎉🎉.
Intolight - I’m so sorry you’re losing your hair😢.
Mara - glad your stitches are out🎉🎉.
Stay safe everyone. Our morning temp is -16, feels like -40. All schools seem to be closed.
Here for pocket duty for all in need. Maybe we all jump in one pocket to stay warm🤣
7 -
@shanagirl I am glad to hear scans are stable for you.
@goldensrbest We are very cold too, supposed to be sunny today amidst the cold which is fine, no plans on going anywhere. Only medical appointment next week that I know of is a phone appointment with my RO.
I slept pretty well between bathroom breaks toward morning but managed to drift lightly off, woke up around 9 am.
Got the start of laundry going, will use sweep vac on the floor, do the cat area and a floor mop all over, still got bed to make as well as the restroom took priority for me. I am thinking I want to make my own egg mcmuffin meal with hashbrowns or chopped potatoes. I will post if creating something really good.
I hope everyone has a wonderful day, if you are in path of the snow, stay safe and in everyone's pockets.

Goldens, wow that's cold! We are 7 degrees here and lightly snowing. My MO office called last night and my MO wants to meet or call today. I decided to stay in opting for a videoconference instead of braving the elements.
My DD shaved my head yesterday. We were both wearing masks so hopefully I don't get her "gift" of a virus. One-half hour and it was done. My DH calls it my Demi Moore look!
10 -
have been thinking of you with your treatment change. Love the positive proactive attitude about your hair. Your husband's comment was wonderful.
hugs,

I saw a different MO Wed because mine was on call at the hospital. My scans showed some progression in my liver but improvement in my bones. She ordered my very first tumor marker test so we can see if it’s getting better or worse. There was a note about a new way they’re evaluating but I don’t have anything to compare it too. Normal is zero to twenty five. Mine was 651. Hopefully the next test will show some movement in either direction so we have a clue
7 -
@wren44 Which tumor marker test? There are a couple of different ones that have different ranges. Mine have not always been reliable indicators so we watch trends which unfortunately have been rising.
I just got off a video conference with my MO to discuss my disappointing PET scan. Since I have only had two chemo infusions so far, we decided to do a few more rounds to see if they make any difference and do another PET scan a couple months out. We can decide to stop treatment or not then. I am tolerating the chemo pretty well this time so we will continue.

Good morning everyone. It's a balmy 54 here right now. Don't hate me, ok? If you want to come visit, I have spare bedrooms and love company. In all seriousness I hope that mother nature takes pity on millions of people in the storms path. DS and his wife live in Charlotte and travel between their home and workshop. They do have a generator. Sis is in Reading, Pa. The latest prediction is 12 to 18 inches. She can't shovel that kinds of snow and I worry about the electric not just for her, but everyone. Years back we lost electric in Boone, NC for days. We had the gas burning fireplace going and decided there were a couple of dining chairs I hated. Made a great fire. lol.
Had annual physical today. Love my new PC. She is one of my blessings. Wed. next week is the endoscopic procedure. That has me a bit rattled. We will find out why I'm choking on fluid but no problem with solids.
intothelight may this chemo does it's job and clear the problem areas. shanagirl, so good to hear scans are stable and hopeful pet will be , too. Mara, right back at taking care of business, like the energizer bunny. Hope you have an uplifting wig to put that smile right back where it belongs. Made a gouloush with black beans. I'm a big crock pot person. 1 lb hamburger, 2 cans petite diced tomatoes, one can of campbells tomator soup, 2 bags of boiled white rice, 2 cans black beans and seasoning of your choice. I used garlic, italian seasoning, onion powder, pepper. 4 hours and it was on high and done. Everyone enjoyed it and some left over for a rainy day.
To all my other sweet friends I'm thinking about you and praying that stablitiy sets in and stays. With all the AI write ups, a number were about breast cancer trials and one drug should be to market by July 2026. Their is hope…In your pockets and please stay home and safe..

I slept OK last night, short but still OK. I have an appointment to see the neurosurgeon, by myself this time. SIL busy with appointment of her own so no ride to happen. Booking my Paratransit. Hopefully we do not get as much snow as they are yapping about, I have no problem cancelling my appointment if is really deep snow.
Made my bed this morning, preparing for some laundry to do later, floors, sweep, vacuum and mop would be good to be done.
Not sure about food, probably egg muffin and couple of hash browns around breakfast. Go over to pantry and pick something else.
I do hope all have a great day and in pockets for everyone.

Irish - your goulash sounds yummy. I might have to take my slow cooker out, haven’t used it in years. Love cooking. It’s like making art, picking the colors, chopping into shapes, and the tastes… my tastebuds have changed over the years with chemo, it savoring food is still a pleasure. Agreed about hope! I like to read in Nature about the cancer trials and new discoveries, a lot of good work being done on the horizon.
Mara- so glad you are healing so quickly. Your level of energy and upbeat approach to the day to day is awesome, and fun to read.
Intolight- sorry about the disappointing PET scan. Two infusions are not a lot, so glad you can stay on the chemo for awhile to see if it works over time. And yeah that it is tolerated, all the better.
Stay warm and safe , wishing everyone in the path of the storm electricity that does not go out, and warm homes to wait it out.5 -
Checking in from my high spot in Texas. 41 degrees here but the cold is moving up the mountain to me as I type. All good though, I’ve got electric and propane heat, food for weeks and of course, a beach bar on my property. No snow yet but likely later today, we’ll see. I hope everyone is comfy and warm this weekend.

I did bring out my heater from the bedroom and turned it on HI, already feeling the warmth. Just waiting on Walmart, got immodium, pizza and texas garlic toast. Should be here by around 1pm. That will be my dinner meal. I have also ordered new LED bulbs because the living room one is dull and cannot find the other ones I had. New ones come Monday, they are 13 W which are the equivalent 100 bulbs as I find the living room really dull.
6 -
I must say having the heater out here is very helpful, just need to turn it off when using something else there. For now it is very helpful and warm. Plan to turn off at night though. It is really very cold.
Anyone affected by the storm they are calling for are in my pockets as well, that is a wide swath for the snowstorm to affect.

Shaina~congrats on stable scans. So glad to smile at something good!!!
intolight~I’m so very sorry you’re losing your hair. Makes me so mad. Honest, it’s bad enough with everything else. I’m sending all my love and hugs.

hello Candy 🌹Love to all

@irishlove Yes the 50's are certainly balmy our forecast is high in the teens, so enjoy lol. I love using the crockpot I made a roast in it today, easy peasy and delicious!
@wren44 Sorry you had mixed response, fingers crossed the next test is better. Hugs
@illimae Beautiful view, stay warm!
@micmel Glad to hear this week is the last treatment for Gabby!!! Amen, what a year and a half your family has endured. I pray it's only up from here as I'm sure you are mentally and physically exhausted. Hugs
@intolight Sounds like a good plan to wait and see how things go. One day at a time, sending strength and positivity your way. Hugs
@mara51506 Hope you don't get too much snow so you can get to your appointment this week. It's been quite the day here with heavy snow, now sleet and ice! I'll be home a couple days I'm sure. Will be walking inside for awhile as the temps look to stay frigid . Stay warm and enjoy your heater💕
Hi to all here hope your all safe and toasty warm❤️

It is still cold but has stopped snowing so will be cable to check tomorrow how the front step and side walk are. Need to salt them down anyway to take out the recycle stuff. We just had a bunch of snow, no sleet thankfully.

Hi folks. Typing on my new computer. It's annoying changing computers, but what can I do when it loses half of what I've just written?
83 here today. Tomorrow it will be high of 68. Then comes Tuesday morning, 28 degrees!!! I just moved out the plants with DH's help. We are in a severe drought, so I water at night. It was so beautiful smelling fresh mowed grass. My heart is with my sister and son. Sis was out in 1 degree weather trying to rescue a mama cat. The kittens are MIA, too. Had been under neighbors back porch. Best she could do was place a container with warm blanket on her porch. Son in Charlotte, all ice but so far he still has electricity. So many people affected by the storm and fatalities of unhoused folks. It's heartbreaking. I pray for them and that all of my friends here are warm and safe.
Massive headache today and very high blood pressure. I do not have high blood pressure condition, but once in awhile it occurs. Neuro said it's due to MS and brain stem lesion. I'm not going to ER for meds, so don't tell anyone but I use one of my DH's pills. It's standard meds for HBP and the neuro had given me the ok in the past. Don't want to be on a prescription med that is only needed perhaps twice a year.
Getting nervous about that endoscopic procedure Wednesday. I think it's because of being intubated. Reminds me of the covid era and my problem with claustrophobia.
All my wishes for each of you to have stable scans, peaceful rest and pain free days and nights.'
Irishlove

@irishlove I am sorry for the massive head pain, don't blame you for using DH BP meds, would do the same if in your situation. In your pocket for your intubation for the endo procedure.
I slept pretty well, been going to bed earlier than I used to and am finished the steroids, I stopped those once out of the famotidine so sleep will be better.
Laundry, making bed, floors and cleaning cat area will also get done.
I had hash browns and potato cubes for dinner yesterday done in the air fryer. They were quite delicious. Not sure on today. Should have some egg on a couple pieces texas garlic toast, I will see what I decide. Will post if I think it is good.
I hope everyone has a good day, in pockets for everyone, for myself that the weather does not block me from taking Paratransit to the other hospital I was in for surgery. Have a consult appointment, assuming it will cover what was found. I assume that is the appointment with Dr. Laba the RO who referred me for the surgery this time. Find out if there is any radiation to be done to the area.
