How long have you been Stage IV?

Hi @livinglifenow Pam, we woke up to 5 inches of snow here. It’s beautiful to look at but terrible to be out in lol I got the sidewalks and steps cleaned off and my car cleared so that I’ll be ready for work tomorrow! Stay warm. They said here it’s supposed to be 20 to 30 mph wind gusts. Take care and enjoy

@ssales13 Stacey, snow is beautiful but also a challenge. Glad you are ready for work tomorrow. We had wind this morning but it is all calm now. Sunny, too! I’ve got to enjoy it while I can.

Graduated to Stage IV-2025
Hormone positive-HER2 negative
Once again-finding breast cancer, because of 2nd recent lung cancer surgery/diagnostics-Station 4R-1 node removed-capsule was broken
Possible malignancy-IMC-1 node R
from Stage 1B- 2022
Right breast US: There is a 12 mm x 9 mm x 16 mm hypoechoic mass in the 2:00 position of the right breast 12 cm from the nipple which appears to correlate with the finding on PET scan.Ultrasound of the right axilla demonstrates no morphologically abnormal lymph nodes. Upper inner quadrant-deep-along muscle.
This was removed. Declined radiation. 2 attempts hormone therapy failed. Beyond negative side effects.
PET scan was for lung cancer.
Twice it was testing for lung cancer that resulted in discovery of breast cancer
Cat scans never showed the mass in my upper inner quadrant.
Mammos every year for almost 30 years.
Recovering from recent rt lung surgery(severe to mild spine/ back pain)-paused aromasin-maybe I'll resume-radiation is most likely not feasible.
Genetic testing results upcoming
Consult: radiation upcoming
2 year DEXA upcoming
Borderline for osteoporosis
This is not a good time.

@moongazer Im so sorry you’re going through all of that.It sounds like an awful lot. Dealing with a stage 4 diagnosis is bad enough but throw another type of cancer/ or illness into the mix I’m sure is beyond rough. This is a really great group of women to talk to. I hope and pray that you get started on a good treatment plan and things calm down a little bit for you. Take care

@moongazer So sorry to hear about all your troubles. This road is not without bumps and lots of potholes, unfortunately.
Wishing you some answers and lessened pain.
Hugs, Pam 💗2 -
That is true-Thanx for your message.

@moongazer Sending big hugs of comfort and wishes for health and strength as you ride these terrible waves.
Hi all along with . @livinglifenow and @ssales13 My new dog Teddi’s first snow (she’s a rescue from TX)! She has brought so much love, cuddles and activity since she came into our lives late Sept. - so thankful for her. Been feeling rather well and hoping that is a good omen before my next scans in early Jan. Heading to Bahamas for a family vacation next week - DD and her husband and DS and his GF are coming with us. First Bahamas visit and first time for all kids - So excited!!
Sending big holiday cheer (Chanukah and Christmas) to all and big wishes that we all have only good health news in 2026♥️ juliana xox

@eddiej Juliana, so glad you found Teddi. What a cutie! Enjoy your holiday trip with your family. Sounds like it’s going to be a great time. Soooo happy for you!

@eddiej
A dog is wonderful—especially when it’s seen as a source of good omen—and I believe it can make a big difference in improving one’s psychological well-being.
My daughter has two cats, but cats are different from dogs; they’re more independent and don’t give that warm feeling of sitting in your lap or clinging to you the way dogs do.
I’ve always wanted to have a dog. The last dog I had was in my childhood, and it died tragically, which has left me sad to this day.
I believe that having a pet gives you the feeling that you’re caring for someone, and it helps ease the loneliness that comes with illness.

It has been 5 years since my MBC diagnosis. It was the 8 months of excruciating pain leading up to the MRI which revealed, among other mets, the spinal ones that were causing it.
DX left 2016 stage 2b ER PR + HER2-
Surgery: Lumpectomy (2 tumors to right of my nipple) No feeling remains😔and 17 nodes removed, 6 infected
DX 2020 (right after the delivery of my 25 week premie granddaughter, 5 now and thriving!)
Targeted therapy: Xeloda
Hormonal: Exemestane
(20-25 Ibrance and Falsodex no progression)

I had stage 1/2 when I was 48 in 2008. Estrogen receptor positive. No node involvement. Lumpectomy, radiation and tamoxifen.
Diagnosed with stage IV - mets to bones only (but lots of spots) in January of 2020.
This month January 2026 I will have been officially living with Stage IV cancer for six years.I know I had it a year before - I had a lump on my L2 - which ultimately collapsed) they required Pt (🙄) so it is really seven years.
Hope this info helps!

Hoping everyone is having a fantastic new year! My husband and I spent three weeks in Arizona, which was lovely! My only issue the whole time there was severe sciatica in my left leg. As soon as we returned, I got an appointment with my PCP and he gave me a muscle relaxant. It hasn’t really kicked in yet, but I was told it could take several days to a week.
Have my PET/CT scan and labs tomorrow, then Tuesday I go in for my echo, Signatera draw, and HP infusion. Then on Wednesday, I start PT for my sciatica.
I’m keeping the medical industry in business! 😂Wishing everyone a wonderful day!
Hugs, Pam 💗2 -
@livinglifenow Pam, sorry to hear about the sciatica! I get this too and it’s painful for sure. Glad you had a great time in Arizona. Sounds like you have a busy week coming up ! I will be praying for great PET results for you. All of my craziness with PET scans and doctors appointments don’t start until the beginning of March and then on March 11th I go to court for my divorce and March 13th is my birthday. Still snowing here. Looks like we got over a foot of snow right now. I can’t wait till spring!!🌺🌼🌸🌻

@livinglifenow - Good luck with those scans and all the other upcoming medical appointments. Sounds like Arizona was real good for you!

@ssales13 and @threetree
Thanks you both for the good luck wishes and prayers. I will be glad when next week is behind me.
@ssales13 It sounds like March will be a crazy month for you. I’ll be thinking of you.

Good afternoon, all!
Just got the results of this morning’s PET scan. Everything looks great. My MO was concerned about the ground-glass opacities (GGO) on my October pet scan. They are now resolving and there is no uptake. Probably from my upper respiratory infection (URI) in early October. But, when I had a chest CT in December to check on the GGOs, my MO was concerned, because they hadn’t improved, and both she and the radiologist were leaning toward new cancer in the lungs. However, I had also had two more colds, one of them possibly Covid, since the October pet scan. These illnesses could cause delayed resolution of the GGOs.
I’m curious to see what my MO says when I see her tomorrow…
Glad to have that test out of the way.
Sending everyone warm hugs!Pam 💗

@livinglifenow Such good news!!! So happy to hear the PET looks good! Looks like Arizona did you well! @ssales13 Stacey, keeping good thoughts for your crazy March and sending virtual hugs 🤗
I also have the GGO in my lungs but it has been stable since the first significant reduction earlier this past year. We are pretty sure it’s cancer.
My Jan scan showed slight progressions on a few bone lesions which took us all by surprise. My MO said the increases were considered minor and if I were in a clinical trial, they would not be considered progression. He considers me still stable. But, can’t ignore it. We did the guardant test to learn more to decide if we need to change or add to treatment. However, my doc is very hesitant to change course yet. TBD…We got 21” of snow!❄️❄️❄️Teddi, my pup, loves it! We, not as much but it is pretty!
Sending my best to everyone!!!2 -
@livinglifenow pam, that’s great news about your PET scan. So happy for you. @eddiej thanks for the good thoughts and virtual Hugs! I appreciate them. I hope you don’t have to change meds yet. We got 10 inches here and I’m so OVER the snow. I heard today there is another storm coming in this Saturday and Sunday that’s going to bring more snow for us. I’m ready to pack up and move to Florida 🙄🤦♀️😀🌻🌺🌼🌸

@eddiej Sounds like you have some interesting test results. I am crossing my fingers and praying that you can continue on your current treatment and that the issues resolve. Gray areas are so frustrating.
How often do you get scans and what kind? I get a PET scan every 12-14 weeks, depending on when my next HP infusion is scheduled. Since I’ve had 3 clear scans in a row, I am hoping we can switch to every 16 weeks. Also hoping to have HP infusions every 4 weeks instead of every 3. Trying to minimize the toxic substances in my body! 🤮We got 3” of snow the other day and, like you, my dog 🐕🦺 loves it! Here is a photo from our back patio.
Hugs, Pam 💗

@livinglifenow - Congratulations on the good PET scan results. There's nothing like the great relief that comes with good scans. Nice photo of your snow too. Thanks for posting it.

@livinglifenow Pam, what a beautiful view you have! I love it❤️

@livinglifenow OMG - Can I come live with you?! Such a gorgeous view! So calming 🌟🌈
I’m on a 3 month PET scan schedule and get my labs done then too. We may do the next scans sooner - waiting to hear the results of the Guardant test first. We’ll see.
