@intolight - Greek yogurt is what I have about every day too. Whole milk and plain. It's from a California dairy company called Strauss. This yogurt has a little extra tang that many, including myself, really like, and it has lots of probiotics of course. I get it at a local co-op. I add a banana, nuts, and a little cinnamon and ginger before I eat it. I'd highly recommend it to anyone experiencing stomach issues.
Also, I am so sorry about you not being able to get your pedicure. What a lovely mother-daughter-granddaughter thing to do together. These darn treatments have a real way of spoiling a lot of the little joys we have in life. Not fair!

@tbos805 -I go to Fred Hutch in North Seattle, and it is definitely less stressful than having to go deeper into the city (South Lake Union). I would also say that Swedish is excellent. I've also heard from people who are real happy with Virginia Mason.
Oops! This was meant for the bone mets thread. I don't know how to copy and paste on my phone, so will try to repost something similar on the appropriate thread. Computer's not working, so only have phone that I am not good with.

Hope there are many more pedicures in your future.

Morning ladies, thanks for all the thoughts withe the NE blizzard. We lost power overnight on Sunday and thankfully was restored last night! We do have a portable generator to keep the fridge running and small appliances but doesn't help with the heater. Anyhow yesterday looked like a beautiful winter wonderland with all the trees trimmed and needless to say Buster had a blast! Hoping for a quicker melt this time a temps are rising this week.Hope everyone in the path is safe and sound.
@irishlove Sorry you were were deprived of some mental relief earlier but cheers to NED!
@shanagirl Hope you were able to get another appt this week. The roads were much easier to clear this time without all the ice, fingers crossed.
Hi to all here, in your pockets for all appt and struggles this week, hugs❣️

@intolight I am sorry you cannot have the pedicure together, can you get together for something else with them like lunch, dinner or coffee?
@eleanora 1.5 inch would not keep kids or workplaces at home here but it would keep me at home. I find people judgemental toward places that are not generally covered in snow very much and saying well we still go out. Canada is used to snow and are amongst those who say hold my coffee. We probably have more snow removal go on too.. I hope it is cleared quickly and the snow will hangout in the trees and look pretty.
It is garbage day here, must take out a bunch both from smaller garbages inside and my bigger bins outside. My SIL took a blue bin out from in house and dumped outside. I went out yesterday to see what was in there, absolutely nothing. Grabbed it to pull over to my bin, I will keep stuff out in that corner, it has a lid as well so will not be sloppy or smelly at all. It actually looks very tidy.
Planning on laundry, thinking I want to clean up some of my blankets through the day. The big ones would be a good idea, could bring my Panda spinner which is bigger. Use a larger container to catch the water, I will see about that later, do my normal stuff first.
Food will be interesting, I might do up a frozen hamburger, put into the pan and let cool a bit, chop up and add to a couple of meals. Might do up beef in a veggie stirfry frozen thing or add to crispy lentils and beans with proper rice. It could work. Aiming to wait til next week for a shop and eat through my supplies. I still have quite a few burritos to go through, bean and beef. I put one with the veggie stir fry thing and was yummy. I will post anything good I make.
I hope all have a good day. in pockets for all and my own pocket not to stay on the couch all day as was done yesterday.

@mara51506 Thank you for your sweet suggestion, but my DD and DGD actually live with me and my DH, so we get to go out often. It is just something we girls like to do—a girl's day out. sometimes it is good to get out of the house and do something other than daily chores. My DS lives in upstate NY and has 20+ inches. His three large dogs are not happy because he doesn't want to reclean the floors everytime they come back in so he doesn't let them play in the snow for long.

Was craving salad so ordered on an order from Walmart, got the mediterranean salad and got lots of mini pot pies. Needed eggs and english muffins anyway. The mini pot pies will help me make basic dinners taste good. So once order arrives, I can take some of the salad, use the air fryer to heat up some lentils and beans, small amount, they are meant to replace croutons. I will heat up one of the beef mini pot pies and have the salad and beans together. Yummy and also realized, if out of proper salad dressing put a squirt of mayo in a bowl and a tiny bit of water to thin it out. Might be good.
I did notice, thought I ordered the smaller beef and macaroni stuff but they are all a pound of stuff. Oops, did not mean to do that. Oh well, no matter. I did the Klarna thing so can pay off in instalments, bout 17 bucks per 2 week, I am going to pay it all off sooner before ordering any more.
Since each of the frozen pasta, both lasagna and the beef and tomato stuff are a lb each, I will be preheating each pkg since it is in the coldest part of the fridge, better to cook it up and manage meals, today planning the frozen lasagna, a mini pot pie, beef and some salad and crunchy lentils.

@mara51506 make your own dressing. Mayo, a tbsp of red wine vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper. It's called depression dressing. My family puts it on everything.

Intolight when you say frozen yogurt do you mean like soft ice cream? Or do you mean frozen, like on a popsicle stick?
When DD was little she was a beast to feed! That kid gave me heart failure. REFUSED yogurt. For her it was a texture thing. To this very day she is highly aware of food textures (yet she eats that vile, gelatinous headcheese, go figure!) To get her to eat yogurt, I made her actual popsicles. I mixed up a box of jello, but used way less water than required so it was really potent tasting. Stirred in yogurt, poured into little molds, stuck a popsicle stick in and froze. She refused yogurt but ate those things like crazy. Yeah, there was a lot of sugar. But I told myself gelatin was good for her and so was the yogurt, although the little yogurt cooties were probably frozen solid and kaput. I think you could whip yourself up some yog-sicles and console yourself for missing out on the pedicure.
Hi and hugs to all.4 -
Good Morning everyone. Hope the snow is beginning to clear in your neighborhood. Make sure to hire young person to remove snow. We are just too old for shoveling, IMHO. The temp here is 36, another night of keeping plants in the house. Gonna look into a small portable type hothouse or green house for next year.
Well I'm trying so hard to keep that mindset of NED, but there's a major hiccup. SUV came back at. 2.4 for the tumor in the chest wall. It was 1.9. One on abdominal wall came back 2.2. It had been 1.9. I know they are still below the 2.5 range considered active disease, but radiologist mentioned to keep a close follow up for possible recurrence. I don't know how to feel right now. Someone said give yourself some grace. I think I'll take my frustrations out on planning the spring garden.
In pockets for all my sweet friends.

@runor Frozen yogurt for me is the soft ice cream. My DGD loves a business here called Swirley Cow—sort of like Fro-Yo. Anyways my DD takes her there for a treat and she brings one home for my DH and I too. I eat Greek Yogurt at home and add berries. Me DGD is a nightmare to feed also but she does eat sweetened yogurt. She eats other things but it is a texture thing for her too. She is almost 11 and very active and has good muscles (she is a gymnist) so she is getting something.
@irishlove I was never told 2.5 was the threshhold for active tumors. That is new for me. I thought anything growing was considered active but maybe my MO looked at anything over 2.5 for a med change. Interesting. Our low temps continue to be in the 30s but we are reaching high 60s for the rest of the month during the day. Since we totally redid our landscaping two years ago we need to water. But since we are so dry there are water restrictions. It will be a tough Spring.

@irishlove Hoping the the variations in SUV are close enough not to be any sign that anything is brewing🤞Do we ever really feel total peace at this stage regardless of reports?? I wish it was a bit longer we were all able to get TRUE relief and a break from the mental stress of worry. Unfortunately it's very hard to be consistent with feeling relief. I think we get small periods like a day or a week or maybe a bit longer. So I guess we celebrate our victories and do the best we can each day!❤️
Hi to all here, we are having a nice meltdown in NJ thank goodness and looks like a nice weekend! Hope everyone has a good day🌷

Hi ladies. Like some of your areas, we are in a severe drought. Bike week starts in a few days and all of a sudden weather is calling for severe storms for a couple days in a row. Poor bikers. Seems to happen every year.
@intothelight I'm not sure if MO uses those numbers to change meds or not. I just know that I had a few areas that read in the area of 1.0 to 1.9 and I was told I was NED. I think that is because those areas and numbers could be inflammation. I'm full of inflammation courtesy of MS. I know I read it on line that above 2.5 is considered active. @cookie54 No I guess there is no peace with this disease. Joy has to come from living life, not hoping numbers will be thus and so. Gotta get my head around this. No radiation for hip or femur since there is no active disease, so that's a win. Frankly I am burned out on doctors and labs and care teams texting or calling early in the morning, to just check on me. They wanna make sure I stay out of the hospital. I thought it was a lovely idea to have them as part of my team and now they are actually interfering with MD orders and Pallative orders. Time to discharge them.
Hope everyone is thawing out and watching out for the next round of weather. It was warm enough today that the birds came out to play in the birdbath. Crows were drowning their peanuts and chickadees clacking their seed against the branch of crepe myrtle. Two new unidentified birds at the bath so I have to investigate. Maybe mockingbirds. I put suet up to try and attract woodpeckers.
In pockets for all and Mara I think I missed seeing you lately?

@cookie54 Yeah, I check weather everyday and it looks like starting from tomorrow we are above 0 since not too far away from you here in London Ontario. I am excited about the snow melting, feel more confident to go outside for walks. Of course the weather could give us a bunch of snow into april but whatever. Once we hit may, will ask DB to take me out shopping for a new AC since other one was tossed whilst in hospital.
I had a decent night sleep, woke up earlier due to receiving a new loperimide prescription delivery, put wig on already. In case people wonder, I take the loperimide automatically to avoid digestive issues. Same thing with the digestive enzyme. I could not eat much without the help. No dreams thankfully. I had a stupid shouting bit yesterday saying shut the f up because I was unaware that one of my facebook videos was on and repeating. Scares the heck out of me when waking up shouting. Usually switch to a rain hypnosis with subliminal messages but did not do that. Just dropped off to sleep mid video.
Have to go through fridge and pull out anything needing to be eaten before spoilage. Also need to organize fridge again. Got a couple hot dogs left so thinking of just air frying them, I like the well done variety. Also got a mix of lentils and corn, did those up the other day but these are leftovers. Love the crispy stuff but also need to pay attention to make sure stuff does not spoil. Also thinking of mini pot pie and an egg microwaved together. Walmart finally had some beef mini pot pies so can take an egg, pie and some crisped corn and lentils. I will have to see. If I have something good, will post. Yesterday I made a bad smoothie. Took some peanut powder for protein and mixed with yogurt and mio. Where I went wrong was deciding to add wheat bran for fiber. It was gross, finished most of it BUT yuck. Next time if adding stuff to a yogurt smoothie, stick with jello, bananas. For now am going to have some leftover lasagna with lentils and corn in there as well, heat them through and add some salad after all is cooked up. Use regular queso OR burger sauce, has mayo, relish, all the burger topping tastes you would expect on a burger.
Second meal was two eggs, two mini pot pies put into the microwave for 7 mins on high, once they cooled a bit, I pulled out the greens I purchased and and added some ranch dressing with sour cream and onion dry seeasoning, white cheddar and a bit of sour cream. It was delicious as well.

Well, slept in again, oh well, not a big problem about that. I was up late organizing the cat litter corner. Need to pull out the shop vac I have. Convert to dry vac mode. Cats kick out litter like you would not believe. Opened the window, it is warmer and will be staying warmer out, if that is the case going to take Paratransit to mall for a mall walk and possible treat as well. Probably give myself 90 mins or so. I am going out with a very old friend. Used to work with her at a call centre, trained her and she saw my update about surgery and where everything is at now. It will be nice to see her for sure. I also called DB because, he should get used to calls from me, same with SIL. It is not always feasible to get together in person so phone contact is good. My childhood best friend reached out as well after my facebook post updating the surgery and necrosis. We can set up a zoom call at some point as I am in London and she is in Sudbury Ontario. That would be nice.
Need to eat up last couple of hot dogs in the fridge, two options here. Could chop them up and have them with eggs and rice OR stick them on top of english muffins, who knows, they could beef up the lasagna dishes that came, mistaken delivery by Walmart but I like it anyway. If something is super good will post as you know. The new burger flavour mayo is really good too, very enjoyable as well.
Got some laundry started, a shirt and some regular cloths, washing in cooler water since tide works in both hot and cold and nothing really stained. Save the warm and hot water for baths and when I do dishes. Already started on sweeping the floor but will put on the backburner as once stuff is in the dryer. I have a shirt that will dry on the heating rack on closet, heater is up top, probably take couple of hours to do. Thinking of hooking up the heating rack to the kitchen power via extension cord and then have regular dryer go at the same time. Regular dryer on separate bedroom power, I will see, if not, just do one at a time. I like the idea of a dry shirt tumbling in no heat in the dryer as still need to remove any fur left over in the lint catcher of the dryer.
I hope everyone has a good day and in pockets for everyone else.

I decided to make a rice and presoaked chia seed first in a pan, opened a can of pinto beans, I seasoned with one of my seasonings that went with the ramen and taco with a blend of flavours. the beans along with the two hot dogs that were left in fridge will go in air fryer, make both really crispy. Should be good.
EDIT, have leftovers from the rice, chia seeds and pinto beans. Added some leftovers or ramen meal so added that as well as the lasagna. I put the lasagna in the pot I used for the rice, chia seeds. Pinto beans actually went into the air fryer along with lentils and corn I had leftover in the fridge, put everything together with seasonings. I was so full, there are more leftovers for the fridge for a couple days, managed to finish up the first batch of hotdogs. They really do taste good crispy. Thinking of an english muffin with peanut butter and a slight bit of honey. Lots of peanut butter for sure or take an english muffin, obviously cut in half. Half is a garlic and cheese thing, other half is dessert in the form of peanut and honey, both done in breville oven on a simple toast, I think that might be good.

We had a warm and lovely day here yesterday (it's bonkers when you compare the weather here to the East Coast!) and I overdid it in the yard. Multiple times standing up felt very lightheaded, then remembered, right, it's my off week from my meds, and my WBC/RBC are at their lowest. Feel yucky today, slight headache and slight nausea. And it's sunny and warm again today! Rats, cats, and bats. May just drive out to the beach and roll the windows down, for the sea scent and sound. And catch sight of some frolicking pups, love that.
Grateful for meds and tired of them, simultaneously.

@sf-cakes We are having warm weather here in Colorado too. I sat outside yesterday late afternoon but had to come in from the sun and heat. Crazy. I miss the San Diego beaches but couldn't sit out in the sun there either, or have the energy for the 10 minute walk from our condo to the beach to get there. The next couple of days are my worse days in the chemo SE cycle so I am housebound. Sometimes I just want to crawl under a rock and stay there, but usually I am thankful to still be alive.

Hi folks. Nice day here and then finally a torrential downpour. We are in a severe drought, so there are water restrictions. My plants in the ground and grass (mostly groundcover of clover and some small white flowers) is looking poor. I've upgraded water sources by adding another one handing from a tree branch. Still have my original sunflower birdbath. They sure enjoy it. Saw my first mated pair of mocking birds.
Mara, I sure wish I could create dishes like you. They sound good, economical and easy to make. My three favorite things about meals. We have been buying 2 to 3 rotisserie chickens everyday. DH debones them and we miss so much with special diet dog food for the girls. We save some for just plain chicken sandwich with may. I take some and put it in the crockpot and add Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce. Then I make chicken rice or noodle soup with carrots. It's nice to have these options and we can free them. The dogs are doing so much better with appetites and coat smooth. So it's a win win as the chickens are so inexpensive.
I can't believe how lovely the weather is in Colorado. I'm guessing this winter isn't done with us yet.
One week to go on Ibrance and then a one week break. Need this break as my nose is bleeding, swelling of palms of my hands and swelling in ankles.
In pockets for scans and all of life's matters.

@irishlove I am very lazy when it comes to chicken, I am also limited to trying to get stuff used up in living room but getting there for sure. Weather is getting warm so would be a good time to Paratransit to Walmart if I am desperately in need of something or just want a walk. Fridge is stocked up. As far as food combos, most are good. Love eggs with a mini pot pie. Got tons of seasoning to use up, also want to try chopping wheat bran in my coffee grinder just to make it less overwhelming and more like a seasoning.
I am also sorry about the swollen extremities and bleeding nose, those are definitely SE you can do without, hope the week off sees less of that for you.
Slept OK, got the laundry going as per usual, will vacuum and clean house, possibly. Smells refreshed with windows open. As soon as I get hot, planning to open windows and use my many fans. By May or late April will ask DB to take me out for AC since I do not sleep with bedroom door open, cats would be jumping all over me overnight, cannot stand that sleep interruption and enjoy being under a couple of blankets too.
Going out with my friend tonight around 7, that will be nice, glad to see someone again outside Paratransit or the hospital. I do not generally have a feeling of loneliness but still is a nice switch.
Meals will involve leftovers. They include pasta, beans and lentils. May prepare a ramen noodle dish, breaking up noodles before heating through. Got eggs and many english muffins, I did enjoy having the garlic and cheese variety on half the muffin and peanut butter and a bit of honey on the other at the same time. It was good. I have a lot of english muffins, mistakenly ordered 2 without meaning to. If I have something really good, I will certainly post. I am also enjoying the auto can opener because it charges portably via USB, no batteries needed and it is so much easier to use. Even if it ran out, would get the same one again and charge every couple days to keep working. I have both dryers going, the hangup one blowing down heat on a shirt I wish to wear and also the regular dryer, I have an extention cord going from bedroom to the kitchen, keep everything from overloading the breaker. I will need to turn off the closet dryer off when I decide to prepare breakfast.
I did make an egg in my egg cooker, a spoonful of leftovers of lentils, pinto beans went in as well. Nothing too crispy, will heat up a mini pot pie as well for more protein. That is done alone in the microwave and then spoon out the egg, lenti, corn mix. Added sour cream and onion and taco dry seasoning. Eggs are done on soft,
I do hope everyone has a good weekend and in pockets as usual.

@mara51506 Hope you have a fun evening with your friend!

@mara51506 How was your night out, what did you ladies do? So nice to have something to look forward too!
@irishlove Sheesh you have been in a real battle with mother nature trying to preserve your plants! Between the big freeze and now drought, crazy! We are thawing out nicely here, we have been sitting outside enjoying the sunshine the past two days and temps in the upper 50's. Just what we needed to recharge our mood!
@sf-cakes Sorry you have been dealing with multiple SE's, treatments certainly a double edge sword..sigh…Hope you made the drive to breathe in some salt air and watch some doggie frolicking!
@intolight Sending you some energy today and hugs.
@candy-678 Hi there, you popped in my head this morning. How are ya, I know you always read along but wanted to say hi!
DH started with a cold a couple days ago and my daughter is an OT and there is a covid outbreak at the assisted living where she works. Fingers crossed that we all stay healthy as my DD daughter's bridal shower is next Sunday!Prayers up and fingers crossed that we all are healthy to enjoy celebrating her,
Wishing all here a peaceful Sunday. In your pockets for this week for whatever you need❤️

@cookie54 - Absolutely fingers 🤞 crossed for you and your family to have good health and a fabulous bridal shower next week! And isn't enjoying the sun and warmer temps, and sitting outside, just the best after a storm? It's my favorite time to go walking too. Have a great weekend and I will be in your pocket all week and beyond.

@cookie54 It was a decadent night out, a dessert place but on a pedestal. I took a digestive enzyme and couple of immodium. I had a super thick chocolate and caramel milkshake. I knew I was full so no dessert but my friend had a crepe that covered a sort of lava cake, she was able to finish hers, my hat is off to her. Lots of good conversation re family, old work stories etc. It was a really nice night for sure, glad to see her. Known her since 2006, trained her for a bit when she started at the call centre.
It did snow last night but it will warm up this week though and melt some hopefully.
Nothing on the agenda, got some laundry on the go, cats need food and as always, floors need a sweep with possible mop. Picked up more immodium at walmart, get 84 tablets for reasonable price.
Planning to make some black beans that are chopped in my chopper to make it more like ground beef and prepare in regular fry pan. Thinking will make up some rice, prepare the queso pasta and chicken bowl, may add more canned chicken to it will be added first then heat up the queso and pasta and get a few meals out of it.
EDIT I am making a meal of 1/2 cup pinto beans, 1/2 rice as well and a package of queso noodles. I made the rice on stove first, got it on low while the pinto beans, they were chopped with croutons this time, makes beans smaller like ground beef, heated for 8 mins. Will let them cool a bit then scoop it all out and add the rice and see what dressings or such may be added. I do believe this will be a couple of meals worth.
EDIT 2 I did make the meal above. Chopped 1/2 cup pinto beans into somecroutons. The rice was seasoned with taco and garlic seasonings added to the water and kept the rice on low whilst the queso bowl with beans was put into the microwave to heat up. I went with 8 mins since 700 W is almost half the power they talk about in the instructions. I put everything once it was done into a large bowl, the chopped pinto beans were like beef which was good, less than half the stuff left over, dishes are soaking in the sink.
Am also wearing my cheap wig, honestly does not look bad to me but still needs thinning out but for 30 bucks, it looks good.
Hope everyone has a great day, in pockets for all.
