Nance, The beginning of July is a good time for a turkey dinner since it’s about six months after Thanksgiving.

m0mmy, Yum on the beef kebabs.

Eric, Your witty metaphor made me laugh.

Dinner tonight was chicken in orange curaçao sauce, sautéed zucchini and mashed potatoes.

Tonight I cooked a pork roast….and when Sharon got home from the music jam, "Oh. I wish I had known. I stopped for pizza." So, the pork will be for tomorrow.

I talked with "Lucy's dad" and he says that Lucy is moping. I guess we spoiled her. :-)

We had a frozen pizza for dinner last night, cooked on a pizza stone in the outdoor gas grill. The box was much larger than the pizza, and the pizza wasn't a "looker" when it was done. But it tasted good. Easy meal and minimal cleanup.

We have been watching the "football" matches and wish there was more explanation of the rules.

Finished the last of that ribeye. Made a shrimp (canned…not great) macaroni salad. I'll no doubt be eating that mac salad for several days before it gets tossed.

I forced myself outside and trimmed the overgrowth over my driveway of bush/tree/blackberry canes so my car won't get scraped. Wore his shirt, hat and gloves and sobbed through it.

Carole, DH grew up in Europe where “football” was the big sport. He knows the general rules from long ago but many of the fine points have changed over the years. I suppose this happens in every sport like the time clock imposed on baseball pitchers and the introduction of designated hitters. He ended up googling articles about what now constitutes a foul and the latest offside rules.

Eric, I’m not surprised that Lucy misses the wide open space and Daisy.

Wally, It's hard to keep going with a hole in your heart but you are doing it. Hugs.

Dinner tonight was pan fried tilapia, Lima beans and sweet potatoes.

I think Belgium might have been motivated by the controversy over the reversal of the red flag penalty against the US player. We watched part of the game and the US was badly outplayed.

Our dinner was leftover Italian beef and home-made mashed potatoes. I found a jar of giardiniera yesterday at Hugo's.

After dinner we had a storm that lasted at least an hour. It's looking like July is going to be hot, hot, hot, which promises violent storms. Our cool/cold June is just a memory.

Opened a can of chili and took 1/2 on corn chips with melted cheese. Still have the macaroni salad.

My head feels like it and my heart will explode. Appreciate your thoughts of my sweet DH.

Wally I wish you didn’t have to bear your grief alone. It can be helpful to stay or have someone stay with you. I know that’s not always possible. I’m so sorry.

Last night was taco salad carried out from a local Mexican restaurant. It was quite good even though I don’t care for the ubiquitous fried flour tortilla It’s served in. Tonight’s offering is a patty melt and some kind of oven cooked potato. Sliced cucumbers and onions in vinegar for me.

Everything I know about soccer I learned from Ted Lasso lol.

DD came up with my grandson to visit for a couple of days. It rained on and off so puddle jumping was the day’s entertainment. Dinner tonight was meat loaf Cockaigne (which he loved,) sautéed summer squash and mashed potatoes.

We had his and hers leftovers and a tossed salad.

DH has a dermatologist appointment in Bemidji today. I will ride with him, and we'll have lunch in Bemidji.

Wally, hugs for you as you grieve.

Maggie, what a pleasure for you and your dh to visit with DD and grandchild.

We had more rain last night but of the non-violent variety. My poor deck plants look so bedraggled.
