condyny, sounds like a lovely outing. I do miss living on the ocean—San Diego side! Your sunset cruise is just the right outing for a summer's eve.
betrayal, I would love to see a picture once you're done. What a great idea. I have been doing more embroidery lately but no big projects.
My dentist was very pleased with what he saw although he wants to fill a couple of small spots that have potential to cause problems if left unchecked (visible on the x-rays.) The dry mouth from the chemo exascerbates any problems. The tmj did not show up on the x-rays so he doesn't think it is of concern, and it doesn't bother me. I am just being proactive. I have a huge dental phobia from a bad experience as a child so even getting a cleaning is difficult for me, but the personnel at this dental office are amazing. They clearly understand chemo issues and put my comfort first, and work hard to schedule me on the timing when my lab results are optimal.

@intolight - I am so relating to your dental issues. I did two years of bisphospnates (Zometa) and stopped last fall. I never did go to the dentist, as I didn't think I had any issues that would show any problems ahead of time. I also think I have TMJ problems, but have not checked with the dentist. I just put up with the joint pain and think it might just be part of the overall osteoarthritis that I have, and that seems to get worse with all the drugs. I also had bad childhood experiences and a terrible phobia of the dentist. I find that to make dental appointments on top of all these cancer clinic appointments is just to stressful and overwhelming and gives me that "I can't ever get a break, when does this all end?" sort of feeling, so I just have been skipping the dentist. I noticed that mine has even moved since I last saw him (about 3 years ago?). I do want to go get my teeth cleaned at least, and I think about calling his office and then I just never do it. He's actually very nice though, and not at all like the nasty ones I went to as a child, but that doesn't seem to cure the PTSD or whatever it is, from those long ago times.
I'm so glad you did get your appointment and that the dentist seems unconcerned about your jaw. Congratulations! I also understand the San Diego thing. I spent a summer with relatives who lived outside of San Diego, way back when I was going into the 9th grade. They took me all sorts of places, but quite often to the ocean beaches there. I just loved it. My relatives also worked at the naval base on San Diego Bay, so that figured in too.
I continue to be so happy for you that the Taxol seems to be helping a lot, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it does so for a long, long, long, long time! Here's to a very pleasant rest of the summer for you.

Threetree, you wrote a very nice response—thank you! We lived for 8 1/2 years at Pacific Beach just around the corner from Sail Bay and found ourselves there several times a week. In fact I learned how to sail there. My DGD was born while we lived there and I fondly remember a loop we took walking with my DD and pushing my DGD from our condo, down the boardwalk at Sail Bay, cutting through the Catamaran Hotel to see the birds, taking a quick stop at Starbucks, across Mission Blvd, and down the boardwalk to the beach walking to Mission Beach and back. That was back when I was first diagnosed and could walk that far. When my side effects grew worse we continued the same walk although I did mine on a scooter. Those were good days.

Cindy - you sure know how to have fun! The sunset cruise sounds wonderful.
Betrayal - the cross stitch project sounds difficult and fascinating at the same time. Would love to see a picture when it’s complete. Your gardens are looking amazing. I’m in awe of how much work you can do - what a workout!
Intolight - glad the dentist appointment went well. Keeping you in my thoughts as you continue treatment.
Waving ‘hi’ to Taco and Carole and everyone else! 👋👋👋

harley07, thanks for the feedback on my garden. I spent yesterday trying to find the directions for that counted cross-stitch I started many moons ago. I did find the original kit on ebay and discovered it is actually a grandmother's genealogy tree for her grandchildren's names. I believe I bought it for my mother but since it only had space for 10 names and she had 14 grandchildren, I needed to see how I could add more branches and keep the original look. My mother died in 2019, so I will use it for my own. I did buy the kit on ebay (it was inexpensive) and will have the directions for the wording that needs to be added. I'll put it on hold until I get the instructions.
I am disappointed because I tried to wash it according to directions I found online and the red dye in the cherries ran. I was trying to remove many years worth of environmental dirt. It will be mine to keep, so I'll live with it and act like it was supposed to look like that. I only have 3 grandchildren so it's not that important. Maybe I'll do the new kit someday.
My decluttering revealed the Mickey and Minnie counted cross-stitch for my DD and DSIL when they married. They have been married since 2014 so I am a bit behind, I'd say. It is extremely intricate so with any luck it will be their 15th Anniversary gift. I had to remember how to put it on the seated frame system I have and finished that last night. Today I started working on it and have already had to change threads 3 times and left gaps for one stitch that is in another color. I found a series on Netflix I can listen to as I work since the diagram is very detailed and I have 4 large cards with different thread colors on them all coded by letters or symbols on the diagram. I'm rusty so it is taking me longer to get into the flow.
cindyny, love your itinerary and photos for Cape Cod. Keep taking us with you on your day trips.
Temps today were off the charts as far as "feels like" ~ 103 with humidity at 98%. Next week we will have several "feels like" days that are expected to exceed 105 degrees and the maximum of 108 degrees.
I did not venture out more than to inspect what the landscaper had installed today. I just heard a leaf blower out front around noon and then saw a truck I didn't recognize on the driveway. I went upstairs and looked out the window and saw the landscaping supervisor watering plants.
I wasn't aware he was coming nor have I yet received the invoice though I was given a phone call to tell me the number of plants, the type of plants and the cost for the job. I asked why they hadn't called and was told it was a spur of the moment planting due to an unexpected hole in their schedule. Not a problem for me because it is done, it has been mulched, the plant covered by warranty was installed and it looks lovely. I just need to mulch the section from last year so it looks totally finished. He did a nice job and I am pleased with the final look. This landscaping company has done a lot of work for me and I am always satisfied with their final product, what they suggest and the cost which has always been less than I anticipated.
So I will need more than 3 bags of mulch to finish this hill and to finish the incline section they did last year. Maybe 7 more bags? I'll hold off until we have cooler weather to finish and post a photo then.
DH can complete the edging and once that's done we can sand the patio. We have accomplished a lot this year in spite of weather challenges putting a damper on expected finish dates. We are way behind, but it is getting done so that's the positive and we can see the results which reflect our efforts.
DGS wants to have his birthday party this Saturday so DDIL is inviting all to their house. His DB and he have birthdays this month: the oldest will be 24 and his is on the 7th, DGS will be 16 and his date is the 11th. Mine is the 13th and we already have plans for a family party on the 16th at Bonefish Grill.
For those facing medical/dental challenges, I am hoping you get better news than you anticipate.
Waving "hi" to everyone and hope everyone had a great day.

I posted … and went to pull a picture and lost the whole post!
Betrayal, I have a cross stitch that I started for my mother, who passed away 23 years ago. It was large, the border was 9 to 12, 2”x3” rectangles that each had a flower in, and the middle had some saying. I don’t actually know where it is stored, but I should look for it. You’re ahead of me on your project for your DD & SIL! I remember a thin border in green, and one flower was complete - I think a yellow daffodil. lolWe didn’t make it out to the National Seashore today, so we’ll try again tomorrow. My niece’s stomach was off and not up to traveling, so we went around the corner to the local beach again. It was overcast early, turned sunny and the walk back from the beach was so humid we questioned not driving.

Animals have come to mean so much in our lives. We live in a fragmented and disconnected culture. Politics are ugly, religion is struggling, technology is stressful, and the economy is unfortunate. What's one thing that we have in our lives that we can depend on? A dog or a cat loving us unconditionally, every day, very faithfully.4
-
We left the Cape this morning. Never made it out to the National Seashore - for our last day we didn’t want to drive an hour each way vs go around the corner to the local beach. We even walked to dinner last night, knowing we’d be driving today.
And drive I did! There was an accident getting off the Cape, and we were stuck in bumper to bumper traffic for over a half hour. Then on I-90 there were 2 times we were stuck in bumper to bumper traffic, up 20+ minutes each time (exit to CT, and exit towards NYC). The 4 hour drive was about 5.5 hours. Fortunately we got home just ahead of a thunderstorm. Downpour to water my plants.
Laundry is done. Things are put away. I’ve dyed my roots, haha. The basement has no puddles, I think tomorrow I’ll close it up and put our “fake” closet full of coats, shoes, etc, back in there. I’ll get out to check out the stain on the deck; put it back together - everything was removed to stain it. I have a “to do” list I can start if the weather cooperates.
I’m glad we’re home but will miss the beach and our neighbors too. Neighbor picture:

The goal of education is not to increase the amount of knowledge but to create the possibilities for a child to invent and discover, to create men who are capable of doing new things.3

I've been visiting but not much to add. Never did cross stitch but needlepointed for years - dining room chair covers, Christmas stockings, wall pieces. Had to quit when my hands got too arthritic to hold the needle and my eyes got so I couldn't distinguish the shades of color. I remember those cards of threads though. I'm not being successful at uploading some pics though.
Now I just knit. Working on the last panel for Ella's graduation gift - thankful way ahead. She's only a sophomore.
Have a good week everyone.

The full timers here at Pine Hollow are about to experience some inconvenience. The asphalted driveway is to begin resurfacing today after a botched job two years ago. We have to park our vehicles at the top of the hill and not walk on or drive on the surface when it's done for a couple of days. Involves a circuitous walk and a set of concrete steps.
It's 50 degrees this morning. Will warm up to high 70's in the afternoon. We have been enjoying this return to MN weather for about a week now.
Happy Monday to everyone.

Our weather has also returned to normal. It is a relief! Yesterday we had 1.3 inches of rain. I am using Rain Drop app as well as The Weather Channel. Rain Drop is developed for farmers who are more interested in how much water their crops are getting.
Carole, that will be a problem for anyone with trouble walking. Can someone go to the store for them?
Today I am going to see my audiologist for the first time in several years. It will be a relief to get back to her. These store front HA's are inadequate, or my hearing is declining faster again. I am also weaning myself from gabapentin, don't know where I will stop. I am attacking everything associated with cognitive decline.
Cindy, Your neighbors can get entertaining at times!!
I have done needlepoint and cross stitch, but I find them to be merely decorative. I have done crochet, even did a complex doily. Crochet is too holey to be practical in garments. I sew, and am resuming knitting after almost twenty years. Knitting Norwegian style, as it is easier on the hands than English.
My Ancestry account was sabotaged several years ago. I am thinking seriously about repairing it. I have cousins on either side who I can copy from. Several months ago, I got information, on my great grandmother who was born in Ireland. Shared that with a cousin several days ago. Her great aunt, my double second cousin died back in January. That branch of the family is complex, with half cousins as well as double cousins.
I am reading Ken Follett now. Huge books. Historical fiction.

cindyny, loved the photos of the turkeys. Sounds like you jumped right back into chores at home after your Cape Cod adventure.
DGS wanted his birthday party on Saturday so we went to their house for Chik- Fil- A sandwiches or nuggets. He also wanted an Oreo ice cream cake. His stepbrother's birthday was on Friday and his actual birthday is tomorrow. It's so hard to believe he is now 16. I can remember when he was born and my son's joy. He weighed almost 12 lb and was delivered by C-section for that reason. He's now 5'10" and he's not done growing. It was a fun time.
I haven't been able to garden lately due to another heat dome and late day thunderstorms. We can use the rain and it helps with my new plantings since I don't have to water. They would need to be watered daily when it is this hot and even with a warranty, I don't want to lose them.
I could not sleep on Saturday night and according to my Fitbit, I only got 3.5 hours sleep. Dog got me up at 5:30, after I finally fell asleep around 4 am, because DH had left to go to a hamfest. Of course, she eats and goes right back to sleep though I made her wait until 7:30 to eat. I slept last night, but the lack of sleep promotes inertia plus my back has been bothering me so I have to avoid any activity that requires repetitive motion on my right side.
I haven't worked on cross stitch since Friday night and will work on it tonight while I listen to a series on Britbox or Netflix. What I am doing now is tedious because it is all short runs of stitches with frequent thread changes to other colors. I'll be happy when I get to a larger run of stitches area.
Chris, I agree that cross stitch and crewel are decorative. My old vet's wife had done all these wall hangings of different dogs, cats and exotic animals for his waiting room. They were lovely and labor intensive.
As far as crochet and clothing, a PT where I go has these sweaters where granny squares were worked into either the sleeves or as a border and they are lovely. I have scads of doilies made by family, my BFF's late mother or ones I purchased at vintage stores. Some I have framed and others I use on some furniture. I expect some people regard them as passe, but I use them to protect wood tops on some furniture such as bureaus or tables from decor or lamps.
carole, having new paving installed does cause some wait time until it cures. When we have the driveway coated, we have to wait like 72 hours before we can walk or drive on it. I think you've seen my driveway in the photo of the crape myrtle and it is definitely a cardiac workout to walk up it. Hope you get weather that will let it cure faster.
It was a hot day with high humidity and now we are between storms. Lots of thunder, but rain has been sparse so far. Not sure if it will just move through or continue to rain off and on. Hope everyone had a great day and waving "hi" to everyone. Hoping some of the lurkers will chime in on occasion.

Yesterday when I returned to the campground from my trip into town (gym, Hugo's supermarket, Walmart), I learned the resurfacing had been put off until next summer. I was able to park our pickup close to our 5th wheel camper.
This morning I plan to play golf, 9 holes. The temperature this afternoon is forecast to reach 80's, so we will probably be turning on the a/c. The afternoon sun heats up the camper.
I also encourage the lurkers to chime in.

Taco, I hear you on arthritis. My fingers will lock up at times. And vision wise, I see close up better without my contact lenses. I also like bright light. Haha.
Carole, your resurfacing being postponed fixed that problem. It also reminded me to text the company that’s doing my driveway sealing to get back on the list. With rainy weather and vacation, I had said to push us out a week, but I don’t want to be forgotten.
Chris, I’ve read some Ken Follett books and enjoyed them. I think I read them on my Kindle, the titles escape me now.
Betrayal, it seems you had an enjoyable birthday party for DGS. They grow up so fast.
Sunday I was still doing catch up chores, only outside ones. I was in and out of the house, out to work & in to cool off and take a break. I put everything back on the deck - those deck rail planters were heavy from rains. Every geranium in those pots had to be deadheaded. The pool needed to be drained, again; chlorine float refilled; auto vacuum put in - it was over full of pine needles when I took it out; we even got in to clean more. Even the solar cover was a mess - rose petals stick to it along with the pine needles, and plenty of sap too. Mess.
Monday I met a gf at the park to walk. We walked over 3 miles as we caught up, yakking all the way. I ran to Aldi’s to grab a few things we needed. I was back home by noon.I had an appointment with my oncologist at 3. I asked her if I was being discharged, as my breast surgeon had released me. She said no, we’ll see you for life, 1x a year. Ok then. Marked my calendar for next years appointment. Side note, while in Cape Cod I always buy a calendar for next year.
After onco I went to $ store for fake flowers to put in the brass holder on my newly painted back door. And Home Depot, to buy another extension cord - one I left on the submersible pump in the basement was from my drill. Basement is all good, closed the door and fake closet is full - nothing piled up in my dining room anymore. Then last evening after national news, I went looking for my paint brushes and paints. Part of 3 sun flowers painted on the side of the garage were stained over and although I could let them go, I’ve grown accustom to them being there. Took me forever, looking in multiple places - I even thought maybe someone borrowed, I found them.
I also found every craft item over my life span. Finished pieces, unfinished, and unopened. My grand niece and I have done crafts for as long as she could sit still long enough to make something.
This is the cross stitch I mentioned I started making for my mother, who passed 24 years ago (2002).It’s smaller than I remember, but still larger than I’ve made before. As you can see I did the easy parts and then was going to fill in each square.
I used to bring it to work and do it at lunch. I’ve been retired over 12 years; moms been dead 24 years, it has to be 30+ years old. Maybe if I leave it out where I can see it, I’ll pick it up again. We’ll see. But it’s Betrayal’s doing that I pulled it out of the pile at all. HAHA
Have a great day ladies!3 -
HI, Introducing myself as I just turned 64 on Monday and I start chemo tomorrow 8/12. I have multifocal IDC stage 1b. Lousy oncotype test score so I was recommended to do chemo before radiation. I retired last year so at least I am not dealing with work issues and raising young children. My hubby has been supportive.
I need all the positive vibes and tips that I can get.
Thanks!!!
5 -
You all make me feel so lazy! I just finished 4 weeks of radiation yesterday and had very little motivation to do much of anything. Of course getting up and going to the hospital every day cuts into so much of your time. I’m really hoping not having to go anywhere will give me more motivation. I did babysit my one granddaughter today for the first time since the radiation started. She’ll be 2 next month and is such a little cuddler. I really missed that.
I’ve done all kinds of crafts over the years, too. I’ve made counted cross stitch stockings for my kids, their spouses and all 3 granddaughters. I know my daughter won’t have any more kids because her 2 are adopted but I don’t know about my son. My son’s stockings are all bear themed and I actually have a pattern for another. I keep thinking I should just go ahead and do it because like you’ve said, the eyes and the hands aren’t what they used to be.
I am a huge reader. I never go anywhere without a book. My favorite author is Nora Roberts. She writes such strong female characters and also strong families. I’ve reread her books multiple times. There isn’t much I won’t read except for horror. 😱
suzieq64, welcome, though I’m sorry for your reason for joining. I just started this journey in May and these women are all an inspiration to me. It’s good that your husband is supportive. We need all the support we can get. My family and my faith have gotten me through to this point and I know will continue to support me. Hang in there and lean on all these wonderful women on here.

Suzie64 - Welcome. As you will note, we share lots of stuff besides our cancer journeys but be assured we've got your back. I suggest you also check out forums related to your treatment or diagnosis. I found the starting chemo Feb '17 very helpful. We shared pics as we lost our hair and cried and cheered for each other.
Be good to yourself. Rest when you need to and take the help offered.
As you can see, I figured out how to load the previously mentioned needlepoints. The flowers are one of 8 I made for dining room chairs. When we no longer had room for the set, I had pictures taken of 3 of my favorites. The two senior ladies are 2 of 4 I have in my guest bath - one is showing off her "bloomies" briefs.
Be careful in this crazy weather, everyone. Has anyone heard from CanaryCat?
5 -
Welcome, Suzieq. That was one of my nicknames growing up. As a child, I got a black eye from colliding with another child. My dad called me black-eyed Susan after the wild flower. From that time on, I was Suzieq. Good luck with your treatment. I hope you will post and share whatever you feel like sharing.
I have done a lot of embroidery, crocheting, machine sewing and even taught myself knitting, but I have never done cross stitch. I admire the finished product, though.
I also have been missing Canary Cat and wish she would check in.
Our pleasant weather continues. Today I plan to take a 2-mile walk for exercise and then wash the camper on the street side. DH and I had a discussion yesterday about being too sedentary and listed some tasks that we could be doing to be more active.
Tonight we are meeting another couple in town for dinner at a midwestern chain restaurant called Pizza Ranch. It's a buffet with pizza and also broasted chicken and side dishes. I hope to enjoy the food, but NOT pig out. In general, I don't like buffets. This restaurant is new, built last fall, and we have wanted to try it.
Happy Wednesday to all.

Thank you for the warm welcome
I made it through the 1st chemo session. I am trying cold capping - my hubby is my assistant and he runs a tight ship. Wow , those caps are COLD!
Brain freeze for 8 hours. I only have 3 sessions to go so I am feeling positive about it. I enjoy gardening and bird watching. I water bath (can) what we grow, mainly tomatoes and peppers, chives, peppermint, tarragon and basil. Any one have tips on making sourdough bread?
I believe in God and the power of prayer!
Thank you again !
5 -
@suzieq64 Welcome to our forum. I am happy you jumped right in. I thought about cold capping but decided against it since I am stage IV and will be on some sort of chemo for life. I do ice my hands and feet and it has worked very well. I have very minimal neuropathy. I was on oral chemo meds for ten years and was switched to IV chemo in January. Let us know how it has worked for you!
6 -
When I was diagnosed in 2009, I joined a small group on bc.org who had the same surgery. One of our group had beautiful long hair. She was young and newly married. She did the cold caps with success. I never understood what it involved because I didn't have chemo and didn't check it out. Good luck with using the method.

Hope is important because it can make the present moment less difficult to bear. If we believe that tomorrow will be better, we can bear a hardship today.3

suzieq64, warm welcome to the club no one wants to join, but those of us who have, are known for being supportive for all who post or lurk. Please feel free to vent, discuss treatment and to ask questions during this venture. Many of us have finished treatment or are far enough along that we tend to discuss day to day activities, hobbies or just family milestones. Please feel free to chime in and let us offer you support.
Today is my birthday and it was also my DF's so I miss sharing this occasion with him. He always joked I was his most expensive birthday gift, but as the only girl in the family, I was also his princess. I miss being called that and I miss him. DH gave me a dozen yellow roses which are my favorite rose color. We have a family party slated for Sunday and yesterday my BFF called to say she was able to find a ride after her children bailed due to a prior commitment, her DB then bailed after his children announced they were coming for the weekend and she was scrambling to find someone to drive here. She's a bit over an hour away and a friend of her deceased DH's said he would be honored to bring her. MY DD and DSIL met him at her birthday party in May which we missed due to being in Ireland.
I thought today was supposed to be a decent weather day after listening to the weather report last night. Why do I bother listening? It was warm, humid and after about an hour I called it quits. I did some finish up weeding and spread the last 3 bags of the original 80 I had ordered. I put it where the landscaped bed from last year abutted the new landscaped area from this year. I didn't have enough to finish the area though and will send DH to Home Depot for about 10 more bags. This area will need about 4-5 more bags applied and I have another area on the daffodil hill that could use some more. When I finish, I'll post photos. The plants are plum yews, deutzia (beautiful, delicate white flowers when it blooms) and creamy hellebores. They seem to have adapted well to this somewhat shady area and really add some interest to that steep hill. DH says the slope is about 30 degrees which is why footing is such a challenge to work on it.
Landscaper finally sent his bill for the work today even though he did the work over a week ago. Nice to be trusted though he has done multiple projects for us. I am so glad he was the one I selected to initially replace our front walkway and to build a stone wall around my beloved lilac. He listened to what I wanted and developed a plan based on what I wanted unlike the other company I met with where my wants were totally ignored. Plus his bid was more realistic and I was able to get my flagstone patio and a garden stone wall of it realigned, too. And they put a paver wall around the patio to keep it in alignment. He employs wonderful workers who respect the property while working on it and clean up after themselves. When they finished the walkway and stone walls for the bushes, they had leftover product that I had paid for. They told me my options were to keep it or if they took it, they would have to toss it. There was nothing wrong with any of it, but they were ethically not permitted to reuse it for another job. Honesty appreciated. We decide to keep it and it became the basis for the fire pit seating area I built after watching what they did to prepare the site. We had to buy the underlayment materials for the pavers and the sand to seal the joints, but none of the leftovers ended up being discarded. We actually had some pavers leftover that we sold cheaply to someone who needed them to finish their project. Win-win situation.
DD and DSIL just dropped in. They are headed to the pool his parents are members of. They can swing by Home Depot on their way back here as well as picking up a takeout dinner for tonight. So I don't need to send DH to get mulch. Dinner will be from an Italian restaurant, yum.
Taco, I love the chair seats you did and admire you for having the patience to do them. They are lovely and they usually wear like iron. You said there were 8 chairs, were they all the same design? Loved the ladies you display in your guest bath.
Finally remembered to call car dealer's to schedule an appointment for an annual inspection and oil change. Because I do "drop off", they are able to take me next Tuesday.
Hope everyone has a great day and waving "hi" to everyone.

Hi, ladies. I have been in North Carolina. It was much cooler than Florida.
Welcome suzieq64
Betrayal, I love your yard and admire your energy.
Cindy, sorry to hear about your basement. Cape Cod sounds nice, but also sounds like too much traffic
intolight, that weather sounds so nice
harley07, good to hear from you
taco, the arthritis in my right hand is getting much worse. Sometimes, it keeps me awake at night
l1ttlec, I forgot what I was going to write, but Hi!
3 -
Helping SO with his new phone I lost my post again. UGH
Taco, heavy duty cross stitch! Beautiful.
Petite, good to hear you’re doing well.
Betrayal, Happy Birthday!suziq64, welcome to the group.
Intolight, you’re a trooper!Gastro followup today, all good. She asked if I wanted a yearly check - thank you, no! She also told me of a new product Reflux Gourmet. It’s seaweed based, flavored, you swallow it and it “floats” on top of stomach acid, so acid can’t go up the esophagus. Sounds pretty cool. But a quick price check on Amazon, $29 for 8 ounces. I’d like a sample but don’t want to spend $29 to find out if I like it.
Once I was home I started repainting little details on the kick plate of the back wooden stairs. Originally I put it on 15-20 years ago; it was faded, once the door & rail were painted, I had to update it. Then I put shellac on the gourd, so the painted flower won’t come off in rain. Kicked off redoing the sunflowers painted on the garage - last time was 11-12 years ago. Well my eyes were better then, and so were my hands!Tonight we went to a baseball game sponsored by the college I received my associate degree from. Free food and drinks, and a baseball with the school on it. We were allowed to bring guests, which we did and had a great time.
I also won a print from the Norman Rockwell museum. Announced my name as Candy. I went up and said it’s Cindy with bad handwriting.
Now I’ll need to frame it, and maybe send it to my step son, the gastroenterologist.
That’s it ladies! Long day.
Tomorrow is the MRI of my shoulder. And to keep fixing up my backyard. Enjoy your day.

Hi everyone.
Happy Birthday betrayal. My mother passed when I was 12 and my dad when I was 24. He called Mum and me Chikadee. My one bathroom is now chickadee themed. Every time I see one I think of him.
My husband and I did a lot of landscaping at our last house but at our new one there is so much clay and rock that we just can’t do much. I have 3 lilac bushes that are still small and 6 “baby” lilacs that we hope will help create some privacy between us and our neighbors on the one side. We also have a Myrtle that is just starting to bloom. We have 2 dogs that must think they’re beavers because every fall and winter they chew the bushes practically down to the ground. This year I found some cages that were easy to use and blend in well so every bush is now caged. They have all grown so much now that they’re not chew toys. I think next year they’ll do even better because they won’t have to start growing from the ground up again.
We need to mow today but it’s one of those mornings when I’ve hit a brick wall. I think we’re going to get more storms today so we might not get to it. This has been an odd summer here. Extreme heat and humidity and a lot of rain and flooding.
Cindyny, I love the Norman Rockwell. Also am interested in the Reflux Gourmet but agree that’s a high price to pay if you don’t like it or it doesn’t work.
Take care everyone.4
