Good Morning, Loungettes! Happy Hump Day! I am sad to see the announcements of Dolly Parton's death. I think of her as being ageless, so it was more of surprise than I expected. The world has lost a great person.

    Jolene's Bittersweet Cocktail

    Ingredients

    • 1¾ oz Scotch Whisky The original recipe calls for Aberfeldy 12, a Highlands single malt. If you have such a single malt use it, otherwise a blended Scotch will still work well.
    • ¾ oz Fresh lemon juice
    • ⅓ oz Honey-ginger syrup
    • 1 tsp Yellow Chartreuse
    • 1 tsp Amaro Montenegro
    • ⅓ oz Mezcal
    • Garnish: orange twist

    Instructions

    • Add all ingredients except Mezcal to your trusty mixing glass.
    • Add ice and stir to chill.
    • Strain into an Old Fashioned glass with ice, preferably a single, large cube.
    • Float Mezcal on top.
    • Express twist and add to glass.
    • Pour in the direction of your liver.

Bought a second skeleton parts in a bag yesterday. Went searching in one of the bins of decorations for the skeleton parts i already had, found all but one piece which probably got put in a different bin when we were packing for moving out here. So we will use the new one after i get the pieces ready for hanging while we try to locate the missing piece. If I am lucky to find this Halloween, I will use both and draped lights around them. The hard part of prepping the pieces for hanging is how to prep the skull piece, running string or yarn through one side to the other is going to be a pain.
