Nancy, lovely pictures. A part of me still can't believe you never saw mountains until you were an adult. I guess I took things like that for granted as my family camped in Yosemite mountains every summer for 16 years in a row. I am sorry for the loss of your friend but am glad you were able to share her celebration of life with other friends.

I had a good day today and even cooked dinner. I hope that means I will continue to have a good weekend.

    Blessings, Chris

  • Chris, when I was in my 20's my clarinet professor from Illinois Weslayan U. where I got my undergrad degree invited me to join the University of Illinois clarinet choir on a bus trip to Denver, CO to go to the International Clarinet Society. There are only a couple of things I remember about that trip. One was visiting the continental divide. Obviously I must have seen mountains then but I don't remember. I do remember having great difficulty breathing walking up. So I should say as an older adult this was the first time of really "seeing" the mountains and taking in the grandeur of it all. The mountains I saw in Salt Lake City were nothing compared to what I saw on my drive to Bryce Canyon. There are no words. I am glad to hear that yesterday was a good day and I pray that this whole weekend will be a good one for you.

Teka, the mouse pic is adorable. How are you feeling? I know the SLC mountain probably looks tame to what most of you see right in your own backyard possibly. Yes, growing up in Illinois is pretty much flat lands.

I did go to the Worlds Fair in Montreal Canada in 1967 but again I don't remember seeing mountains. It was our HS band trip by bus. I was probably really nervous knowing I was going to announce what we played in French. I was the only person who had two years of French. LOL I would announce the pieces and there would be these deadpan faces in the audience. I found out later the dialect they speck in Quebec is not the same as we learn in the US. Probably the reality is they didn't understand a thing I was saying!!!!!

We are under another flash flood warning. We have almost nonstop rain through Saturday and Sunday. My roses love all this rain and are blooming like it is summer. I guess technically it is until Sept. 22 according to my calendar.

Have a good weekend dear sisters.

    Love,

    Nancy

  • Hershey, I know you have been waiting for this day to come for a long time. Welcome to autumn.

I took this photo a very long time ago at Starved Rock State Park in IL. The colors were gorgeous. I was way up high at Eagle Cliff overlook after huffing and puffing my way up a gazillion steps and got this pic of all the pelicans on a log. I was looking for Eagles but the pelicans were a treat.

I was at Whole Foods yesterday and they had a big rack of pumpkin spice popcorn. Now I have seen everything!!!!

I hope you are all doing okay. It has been rather quiet on here for a while.

    Love,

    Nancy

    Nancy,

What a beautiful picture! I love the fall colors.

Been a couple of up and down weeks here. I was having some chest pains and irregular heartbeats so they’ve stopped the Kisqali until I can see the oncology cardiologist in late October. Frustrating since I want to get on a course of treatment and stay there, but maybe that’s unrealistic. Otherwise I feel fine.

My bff and her husband came from WV to be here for my granddaughter’s second birthday party so that was a real treat. We’ve been friends since my first job out of college; I think she figured 49 years. While they were here, her husband made a $2.00 fix on our 26- year old truck making it safe to drive to town and back again. No more driving it on the highways but it helps keep the miles from adding up on our other car. There’s very little that he can’t fix!

Our neighbors lost their 30-year old disabled son after heart surgery. He was such a sweet boy. We’ll miss him walking around our cul de sac. Lots of prayers for his family.

Lastly, the nodule on my husband’s lung has gotten larger so he’s scheduled for a PET scan on October 9th. Could sure use some prayers for that. I’m putting him in God’s hands like I’ve done for myself, but it hasn’t been as easy for me to say “Thy will be done” for him.

I’m adding my prayers in for everyone on here.

    Love, Cheryl

Cheryl, I am so sorry to hear about your DH lung nodule increase. I will add him to my prayer list so keep us informed! I am also sorry for the loss of the 30 year-old special neighbor. These sweet, special people fill a special place in our hearts. I will also pray specifically for your heart issue and that you can return to a successful treatment plan soon.

Nancy, love the pelicans! I have a similar picture (somewhere) of seals covering the dock in San Diego we used to use to access the sailboats. I couldn't find it so I thought I would send a picture of the two seagulls who visited our window of our condo everyday. It is strange but I miss them! I named them Hector and Heathcliff! (You'll get it if your were a Red Skelton fan!)

    Seagulls.jpg

    Blessings, Chris

  • Nancy, such beautiful pictures! Thank you for sharing, I love those fall colors too! And the beautiful rose. Also, so happy that you got to see mountains and loved them, they are so pretty. I enjoy flying over them on the way to AZ. Praying that you are doing well.

Chris, living by the ocean sounds very exciting to me! I'd love to watch those seagulls. Praying that you are feeling good this week and praying for you.

Cheryl, I'm sorry to hear about your special neighbor and the lung nodule your DH has. I will add him and your neighbors family to my prayers along with you and your heart issue.

Teka, so thankful you are doing better. Hershey also praying for you and Pastor John.

I'm doing pretty well, my nurse friend is feeling better since being in ICU and the medication change. I'm praying that this new med is a definite answer. My sister has declined somewhat and I am noticing when I talk to her on the phone that she sometimes loses track of who she is talking to. I'm planning on visiting her and my brother in law the end of October and early November.

Praying for all of you. Love, Wheatfields

  • Hi Cheryl,

We will certainlly pray for you and your DH. I was not aware he had a nodule on his lung. Maybe I missed something in retracing all the posts I missed when away. A sad loss of this 30 yr old young man. Your celebration of your granddaughter's second birthday was really special with your friends from WV making the trip to celebrate her. That's a great friend.

I am not familiar with Kisquali at all. I think I have seen it advertised on TV. That is a shame that it has caused you these side effects. If I am remembering correctly you were also on Letrozole which we used to refer to as an AI drug but now with AI so much in all of our lives maybe those initials have been deleted from the conversation. I hope your oncologist can sort all of this out. The Letrozole is a pretty effective drug so it is not like you are not taking any meds at all. Hopefully your doctor will have an alternative for you.

I will pray for you and your DH and hope that his PET scan will be a positive result. One of my good friends who is a breast cancer survivor had to wait quite a while to get tests as she was having trouble with shortness of breath. She is still training for the Chicago Marathon for her 5th year walking in it. She found out it was just scar tissue and was given breathing exercises. I pray that this will be nothing serious for your DH.

Chris, I remember you posting that pic several years ago as I thought it was so cute. I didn't remember you naming them though. I watched Red Skelton but I don't remember the reference to those names. I followed this couple on YouTube from the UK that was camping in North America for over 6 mos. They visited most of the national parks out west and were definitely in CA for a time. They had one place that there were seals everywhere. I found that fascinating. I am not sure if it was San Diego but it was very interesting. Because of their VISA running out they had to go back to the UK and reapply. I just saw a recent video from them and they were so discouraged. They left their camper van in Canada and were planning on coming back to the States as they loved it so much. Her Visa was approved and his was denied even though his interview said they were both approved. I felt bad for them. They loved everything about their experiences and it made me proud to be an American hearing how well they were received by everyone they met here. I hope they can get this figured out so they can come back and enjoy America again.

How are you feeling? My Bible study was canceled tonight because the leader was not feeling well. I sat next to our her last Friday at the Celebration of Life for my friend who died a few weeks ago. I feel a sore throught coming on and I am supposed to see my endocrinologist tomorrow. I talked to my attached neighbor yesterday and they had all been sick with the flu.

I have been very busy with my HOA duties. I am in the process of getting landscaping bids as our three year contract is up with our company this year. The Lord has been working in this situation as I have given over the weight I feel of it all to Him. Things have made a complete turn around and I won't go into details but let's just say I am convinced it is from the Lord.

Thanks for the nice comments on my photos. I am praying for all of you.

    Love,

    Nancy

  • Wheatfields, we must have been typing at the same time. I am glad to hear from you and glad to hear that your nurse friend is doing better after being so sick. I hope the meds change will help her going forward. I am sorry to hear about your sister. It is such a hard thing for the family to go through and I imagine it is quite bewildering for the patient as well. I was glad to be able to spend almost a whole week with my sister when my niece drove to IL to take them to visit her in Iowa and then drive them back home. I had been quite worried about my sister and in some ways I was relieved to spend almost a week with them and be able to see her over a long period of time. She is forgetful as I am now too but nothing as bad as I had envisioned. Thank you for your nice comments on my photos. My rose bushes are all doing so well and I am sure all the rain we have had this season was very helpful. I am also very happy that I have what I think are migrating hummingbirds coming to my feeder and flowers now. I think my regulars left a week ago. One little one today I was watching going to my patio flowers and then she flew right into my patio door. They are so tiny I hope she was okay. I have really enjoyed them this year and I am thankful to see more on their way south. Take care.

    Love,

    Nancy

  • HI Teka,

Happy autumn Nancy, Chris, Wheatfields, Teka and Cheryl! I hope you are enjoying the change of season as much as I. We are finally receiving some much needed rainfall and cooler temperatures. Such blessings after a long, hot, and dry summer. It's been a joy to turn off the AC and open wide our windows and patio door.  It's a little sad to see the garden winding down, but I'm thankful that plants survived the sizzling summer and produced some lovely vegetables.

Nancy, your photo captured such beautiful autumn colors. The most vibrant fall leaf colors seem to extend from the Midwest to the eastern seaboard. Chris, have the aspens started to change color?  Their yellow and gold leaves can be striking this time of year.  Wheatfields, I'm thankful that your dear nurse friend is feeling better since her medication change.  Teka, I'm happy to see that you're doing well and enjoying a meal out with your husband.  I hope that the nor'easter doesn't affect your weather too much this weekend.  Cheryl, Nancy is spot on that aromatase inhibitors are powerful drugs and lower the risk of cancer returning when used with or without Kisqali.  I hope any side effects are minimal and your treatment is effective and protective.

A couple of you have asked about Pastor John updates.  He finished radiation in August and will have scans in November.  He was concerned about a three-month delay between treatment and scans, but his radiology oncologist assured him that radiation stays in the body and continues to work for a long time.  Pastor John continues to preach on Sundays and to email his weekly encouragement on Tuesday afternoons.  He's lost some weight but not his loving and kind attitude or his silly sense of humor.

This week the dentist started the prep on my second old crown.  All my crowns are porcelain-fused-to-metal.  These types of crowns have a typical lifespan of 10 to 20 years.  Mine were done in the 1980s! Yes, 40+ years ago!  The dentist commented that the person who completed the work all those years ago did a phenomenal job (I agree, Dr. Carolyn was a phenomenal dentist).

I pray everyone has a calm and safe weekend.  You are loved!

  • Hershey, I figured this time of year you would be very pleased and relieved from the hot summer. Glad you have received some well needed rain. It sounds like your garden produced a lot of produce for you which is pretty amazing in the hot weather.

I imagine it is hard saying good bye to your summer garden. I was feeling sad a couple of weeks ago thinking my hummingbirds were all gone. I prayed I could see them even a couple more times. Well I have seen them every day for over a week. Some I believe are migrating as their color and behavior are different. I do know the adult males leave early, then the adult females and then the babies are last to migrate. They have no training at all as they usually migrate alone. It amazes me how they know when and where to go. God is really amazing in his creation.. I was thinking of how detailed every type of flower is when you see them up close. I had just finished reading through the Old Testament and being overwhelmed at the begats that seem to go on forever. I just felt like if it was so very important to mention all the myriad of details in names and the details in building the temple etc. I think that translates into he is concerned about every detail of OUR lives too. That is very comforting thought. I think we need to pray about all of those little things besides the big things that bother us or concern us.

I have never heard of the old crowns you had. That is amazing they lasted so long. I hope your second new one goes well. I have a fairly new dentist and I am not completely sure what I think of her as she had difficulty with the first procedure she did with me. My dentist retired and just sort of handed me over to her. I have to travel quite far (for us) to get to her and I would rather find a dentist here in town. The old saying time is money translates to a 75 yr old……….. time is TIME!!!!

Your Pastor John sounds like quite a warrior. I am impressed that he has continued to be a blessing to your church through it all. I pray that with the Lord healing power that he will come out of this victorious.

Enjoy your weekend. You are right about the fall colors. That picture I sent was not from my area but it was Illinois. Here we think of Vermont and places on the East coast with the most vibrant even though some years right in my area we have some great colors to admire.

    Love,

    Nancy

@hersheykiss Thank you for the update on Pastor John. I continue to include him in my daily prayers and appreciate the update. The online Pastor I listen to, Pastor Jay at Brentwood Baptist, is also going through a rough time with cancer and I noticed the last picture of him showed he lost a lot of weight. They preformed a lengthy surgery initially but were unable to get it all. He continues to preach most Sundays and says he is handling the SEs well. I know how physically difficult preaching is and I pray for these special men. I have had a couple of those old crowns replaced lately and I know what work that takes. I will keep you in my prayers.

Nancy, I am glad things are cooling down for you. We have already had a dusting of light snow on Pikes Peak so our temps are dropping quickly. Our temps go up and down for a couple of weeks during this time. I don't garden anymore, but my DH has already scheduled our water line blowout for mid-October in anticipation. Our flowers will dry out soon.

I saw my oncologist Thursday and she said she is happy to keep me on the chemo for now as I appear to be handling it well. I am in the midst of my heavy side effect days but am doing okay. I slept a lot yesterday but am back to crocheting today. Monday I see my orthopedist and hopefully she will release me to remove the leg brace and increase my walking. I rarely use the walker anymore even at the hospital.

I need to contact my son who lives in upstate NY and see if how he is weathering this latest storm. He lives far enough inland and high enough in the mountains that he usually doesn't have any problems unless he loses his electricity.

  • Hi Chris,

I am glad your oncologist thinks you are doing well on your current chemo. I know that probably makes it sound like a walk in the park and I know it has not been that for you but I am glad to hear you haven't had to use the walker lately and I sure hope you can remove your leg brace soon. I will pray for your Pastor Jay as well. I am glad you get to hear him online. I am glad you are back to your crocheting today. Your weather probably gets colder earlier than ours does. We are experiencing some really nice fall days. My roase are looking better than they have in several years and are blooming like it is the middle of summer.

I am in the process of getting bids for our HOA landscaping. It is a big job and this year has been a quick change of events which I hope will be good for our neighborhood. It has been a big job for me this season because I don't think our fairly new account manager was up to the task the way he should have been. I am the board liason to our landscaping company and this year I felt like I should have been paid by the landscaping company because our account manager was pretty much waiting on me to tell him what to do. That is HIS job. I remember doing this task of getting bids my very first year on the board and it was like trial by fire. I had no idea what I was doing and spent countless hours getting bids. This time around at least I'm not reinventing the wheel. I have already walked the neighborhood with our maybe new account manager last Tues and this Tues will be doing the same with another company that I have requested a bid from them. At least I am getting some steps in. I could use some prayer with God helping me to whittle this process down so I don't have to make so many calls that result in no response. I have made five calls so far which has resulted in one no, company not large enough and this guy coming on Tues. So much for having an AI help me find companies. He found companies that were probably up and coming and not big enought to handle our big job.

Well I need to sign off. I hope you have a great weekend and continue to feel better.

    Love,

    Nancy

  • Hi Teka,

I pray you get relief from your new ear drops. Ear pain is no fun at all. It sounds like your pcp got involved with your treatment. Take it easy and rest.

I have not felt well the last few days. I could tell last night I was feeling like I was getting sick. I had walked the neighborhood yesterday with a landscaping company who I had reached out for a bid. Even though I told him I had back and leg issues I still had trouble keeping up with him. I didn't say anything until I realized there is no way I am going to keep up with his pace. That didn't seem to slow him down. I am sure he is a busy man.

This morning I had to get up very early for another neighborhood walk through and it was predicted for non stop rain. We had to postpone that and I went back to bed for several hours. I also rescheduled my hair apt for Thursday. I have another walk through the neighborhood on Friday with another landscaping company. I hope I feel better by then even though I told him on the phone yesterday I felt like I might be getting sick so I gave him fair warning if I had to reschedule. I hope it works for Friday. I just want to get this process over with. I don't remember the last time I got bids that everyone wanted to do a walk through even though I have emailed them an aerial view of our neighborhood and gave them a description of our neighorhood and excel chart of all of our expections that we are looking for and have had with our past landscaping contracts. I think in the past the owners went out by themselves and looked the neighborhood over. Oh well, that's what I get paid the big bucks for in this volunteer job. LOL

I hope some of you needing rain got some of this we are getting today.

    Take care everyone.

    Love,

    Nancy

Nancy, I am so sorry you are having such a rough time with the landscaping bids. It can be a tough job but you need to let the bidders know you are in charge. They need to slow down, and if they want the job they need do it on your terms. If they bolt, you don't want them. Sorry if this sounds harsh as I have no filter right now and I am sure things sound confusing due to pain pills (it is my bad side effect day.) I am thankful I was not put on landscaping duty when I volunteered for my condo HOA. Instead I was head of security, but our entire board always took part in all decisions after the background work. I hope that helps.

My DD and DGD both have the sniffles and since I am at my lowest immunity day, they will avoid me for a few days. That's okay with me as I tend to isolate myself for a few days anyway. I hope you aren't coming down with anything.

    Stay well and safe.

Chris, I'm praying that you are soon over the bad side effect day and feeling better. May the Lord comfort and encourage your heart! Also praying for your DD and DGD that they are feeling better.

Nancy, I'm sorry to hear that you haven't been feeling well and hope each day is getting better. Also, those HOA duties sound overwhelming and you have done and excellent job in providing maps and excel spreadsheets! Praying for the Lord to surround you with good health, comfort and encouragement.

Hershey, we're praying that your dental work is going well and also for Pastor John.

Teka, praying that your ear pain soon clears up. And Cheryl praying that you and your family are doing well and you can continue your treatment and it is effective without bad side effects.

My nurse friend is in the hospital until at least tomorrow. We went to ER on Tuesday after lunch with TIA symptoms, they did an MRI and found narrowing of the blood vessels which is causing the memory issues. Her sister is here also which is helpful. My nurse friend told the PT people today that her sister cleans and I do the cooking and she (my nurse friend) doesn't do anything (it sounded kind of humorous). We have had an over abundance of rain here and cloudy days and are willing to send it to anyone who needs it. I'm concerned also, for my sister, she has had a lot of bouts with diarrhea and is sleeping more and taking part in less activities.

Praying for all of you and thank you so much for your prayers.

@teka I pray the new ear meds relieve your problems.

@wheatfields How is your nurse friend doing? I pray for her. You are a good friend.

Nancy, how are the walk-throughs going? I am sending extra prayers that you will find the right company to treat your HOA well and that are honest and good at the job. You are a trooper for being so conscientious and caring for a thankless job. All lawn watering has been ceased here although we can still hand water trees and plants. We will blow out our system in two weeks. Pikes Peak got 8 inches of snow so our winter is on its way, and we even turned on our fireplace yesterday although it is supposed to warm into the low 70s the next few days. In the meantime I am sitting in my recliner slowly recovering and looking forward to my week off chemo next week. The good news is I have Christmas week off from treatment…the bad news is I have a treatment Thanksgiving week. My SIL lovingly agreed to host the dinner this year and hopefully I can participate before the SEs kick in. Another good surprise is my DD may bring her new boyfriend to Thanksgiving dinner. We haven't met him yet, but she smiles when she talks about him. She hasn't dated since before the birth of her DD 11 years ago. I love seeing her happy, but she is taking this slowly. He hasn't met her DD yet either.

Praying everyone has a good weekend. Love, Chris

    Hi dear sisters,

I am still sick. I thought I was doing better so I went ahead and toughed out another landscaping walk through the neighborhood on Friday. Well, I was wrong. I am not well yet. I start feeling much worse in the evening and then get bad headaches. I have such a busy week this coming week and I will just have to see what I can or can't do.

Wheatfields, I know you have a lot on your plate. How is your nurse friend? I know you are probably very worried about her and your sister. That is a lot to deal with. I hope you are taking good care of YOU.

Teka, how is your swimmer''s ear? I hope much better now.

Chris, I hope you can really enjoy your week off of chemo. I am glad to hear your SIL is going to host Thanksgiving. We got a ton of rain last week and it sounds like SD and CO also got rain and snow in the mountains. I'm glad to hear your daughter is smiling and has a new boyfriend. I hope you get to meet him at Thanksgiving.

Cheryl, I know your husband has a scan coming soon regarding his lung issue. Praying it is something easily solved. How are you feeling?

Hershey, I hope you are doing well and getting some much needed rain.

Have a good week everyone. I would appreciate prayers for healing?

    Love,

    Nancy

Nancy, it is good to hear from you I was beginning to worry but turned it into prayer instead! Praying that you are soon feeling much better and the load of next week is lightened a bit somehow.

Chris, praying that you will be feeling real good all week on your week off. Glad to hear that you can just enjoy Thanksgiving dinner and your SIL will host.

Hershey, I'm in line with you at the dentist! Friday evening my nurse friend and her sister and I were watching their great nephew play high school football (he's a star player so it's fun to watch) here on the computer and I made a big bowl of popcorn and was snacking away forgetting all about caution, and broke a piece of tooth off, it's a top molar with one of those old mercury fillings. So on my to do list is call the dentist for tomorrow. Praying that you are doing well and also for Pastor John.

Teka, praying that you will soon be feeling great, without swimmer's ear.

Cheryl - praying that you are doing good and also praying for your husband.

My nurse friend is home from the hospital as of Friday morning, she feels very tired, but at least no TIA symptoms. For all the tests I can't really say we came home with a solution. The MRI of the brain did show some narrowing of blood vessels which would account for some memory issues. The medications remain the same as when we came from ICU 3 weeks ago. She has a follow up with PCP on Thursday.

My sister is having some difficulty swallowing pills. She has sounded better on the phone the last couple nights, more clear.

Praying for you all and thank you for your prayers!

    Love, Wheatfields

    Nancy,

Will definitely be praying for healing and for you to feel better quickly. I’m sure all of the HOA takes a t oll on you, and I’ll be praying for that to be resolved, too.

    Hershey,

We just dealt with a bunch of dental stuff, too. Our insurance carrier decided not to carry individual policies last year so we had to search for a new one. Our dentist office that we’ve been going to for over 40 years only accepts 2 carriers and neither accepted individual. The dentist who started the practice retired several years ago and we haven’t been totally pleased since then, but it’s better than searching for a new dentist that we know nothing about. Ended up with Delta Dental through ASRP. They don’t pay much at all, but it’s better than no insurance. My husband had to have a tooth extracted as well as fillings that had cracked. Big bills. I was fortunate to only need the cleaning.

My brother called me yesterday and I listened for almost an hour. He is what our minister calls a “joy sucker”. His wife died several years ago and I know he’s lonely, but it’s just so hard to listen to him on the phone. I really don’t even know how to pray for him. He’s still living in PA and with our health issues we haven’t had the time to get up there and he won’t come here. I guess I just try to pray for his needs.

I’m feeling ok. Anxious to see what the oncology cardiologist has to say, but that appointment isn’t until the 21st. Chest pains and irregular heartbeats have lessened since I’ve been off the Kisqali. I’m putting my husband in God’s hands, but I’m anxious to get this PET CT scan done.

On one humorous note, my one dog is sleeping in her bed at the foot of our bed and snoring like an old man. Can’t believe how loud she is.

We appreciate all the prayers and especially for my husband. Praying for all of you.

    Love, Cheryl

Cheryl, I wil join you in the prayers for you, your DH and your brother. It is difficult not being able to travel. It hurt to have to watch the funeral of my brother over a live feed and not attend, but I was thankful for that much.

I have a dental phobia, but go anyways. The last time I saw my dentist he filled two small cavities that were just beginning but chose not to replace a crown saying it could wait and I am going through enough with everything else. He has me do a daily flouride rinse and special toothpaste saying it helps chemo patients. I really like him and understand about not wanting to search for anyone else. For some reason we have a lot of dental offices here in our small area. We use Cigna for dental. It is not really insurance, but every year you are with them they pay more of everything. We now get free cleanings and I saved a lot for my fillings. It just takes time…

Yesterday I passed out again but this time I laid down on the floor first so I didn't fall. I don't think I lost consciousness much but it took a good 20 minutes before I could get up. We don't know whether it is related to blood pressure, or blood sugar, or what. This morning I drank some juice before I got up. My blood sugar is actually rising each week because of the steroids I take for each chemo so I don't think that is the reason, but I don't know. It is all part of my messed up body. I just trust God for His wisdom.

My half-sister is coming for a visit over Halloween weekend. I am excited to spend time with her again.

Chris, I'm really sorry to hear you passed out again. When my blood pressure meds needs to be regulated I have felt that sensation of almost passing out. I know you don't want to have to deal with another issue but I know you will get this checked out. I was thinking your heart was ruled out before. Continued prayers for you.

Wheatfields, what a bummer to enjoy a football game so your friends could see their great nephew play and then break a tooth eating popcorn. I have a fairly new dentist and they put old movies on while you wait. I said to one of the techs do you offer popcorn with the movie. She said something like popcorn can cause a lot of problems. Doesn't stop me from eating it, though. I hope you can get that fixed soon. My Mom had a lot of swallowing problems in her later years. She would have a time with her pills. At her assisted living they would give her some applesauce to help with the pills. I'm glad she sounded better on the phone when you talked last. I know it is an emotional roller coaster. Thanks for your prayers and you have mine as well.

Cheryl, I will continue to pray for both of you. I remember my cat snored too. I miss hearing that. I have had Delta Dental for many years. Some it was provided and a few yrs I had to pay for my own through them. Now it is included in my health insurance package we have.

Teka, how's your ear doing? I bet you have some pretty fall colors now.

Hershey, have you had you new crown put on yet. I know you will be glad to get it all over when you still have one more.

Thank you all for your prayers. I was running out of groceries and I have already spent a fortune having meals delivered so I am going to go to the store today and wear a mask. That will get me through the week. I am having sinus stuff or something going on but my headaches continue.

    Love,

    Nancy

Nancy, check your different local grocery markets for delivery. I use Kroger/King Sooper. It costs $69 a year, but as long as I don't mind getting the groceries delivered the next day it is free and they use their own delivery refridgerated trucks. There is a minimum order requirement of $35 but these days I hit that easily. They also don't allow tipping so I save on that too. Walmart uses a delivery service and charges a bag fee (if your state does) and requests a tip but you can get it the same day. I don't remember their annual charge amount. It is worth it to me.

Thanks Chris. I was able to get to Whole Foods and did okay. My local market I used to go to was notorious for not having the staples I use every day for my organic smoothies and chicken with mixed salad greens. I had my last walk through with a landscaping company today however our new account manager who is bending over backwards to please us and to turn things around want me to walk the neighborhood with him every Wed. morning. If we decide to continue with another 3 yr contract that offer will be impossible to beat and if we decided to stick with them I think he wants to continue walking the neighborhood every Wed morning. That is a super big committment especially in the mornings so I may have to say this is not going to working for me unless it is in the afternoons and then not every single week. I may need to remind him that this is a volunteer position.

How are you feeling? I had my Bible Study tonight and I took Tylenol throughout the day but I had this awful pains that were shooting through my head before my Bible Study was over. My attached neighbors each had the flu and when I found this out I was only a few feet away from the Mom and she sounded horrible. I stepped away from her as I tend to catch anything going around. She said I'm okay. Well shes not. She is taking a two week leave from work because she is not getting any better on her meds. For her to do that is unthinkable and our Bible Study leader who I sat next to at our Celebration of Life for our friend recently has been very sick and still not completely well. If I can make it till Friday I can rest more.

I need to get to bed as I have to get up early, Thanks for the tip. I wish I could get a grocery deliver that cheap. Whole Food is terribly expensive anyway so I don't even consider doing delivery from them.

I hope you are feeling much better and can get to the bottom of your passing out or almost passing out.

    Love,

    Nancy

Nancy, I hope you’re starting to feel better.

Thank you everyone for the kind words. Tomorrow is my husband’s prep for the PET CT scan. No strenuous activity so we got the mowing done today. He’s supposed to avoid carbs and sugar. Unfortunately he’s a meat and potatoes person so we always have some kind of potatoes or rice with our dinner. He’s going to be hungry by Friday without that. 😐️ Appreciate all the prayers for him.

Take care everyone and praying for you all.🙏

Cheryl, how did your husband's PET scan go? I hope you can get results quickly.

Teka, this new account manager wants to walk the neighorhood every Wed. I did ask if we could move the walk through to the afternoon. I am waiting on one more bid to come in and then the board makes a decision and then I send out letters to all the companies who I had requested a bid. If bottom lines mean anything we will be staying with the company that has dramatically tunred our whole situation around when he as the branch manager offered to be our account manager. I really like this guy.

Wheatfields, I hope you were able to get into your dentist.

These last two weeks have seemed like a month but I was able to get all the walk throughs in and then come home and collapse. I still don't feel normal and I don't know what is going on but I do feel much better than I did. I am waiting to feel much better so I can get my flu shot and a Covid shot. Both things are ramping up in our area. I hear this Covid strain is highly contagious but not nearly as bad as what we have already experienced. The flu season sounds like it may be a bad one.

Have a good weekend dear sisters.

    Love,

    Nancy

Nancy, I’m praying that you are starting to feel better, especially so you can get your shots. Ours are Thursday. I made sure to schedule them the day before I didn’t have anything going on because I always feel terrible after the Covid shot. The flu shot has never bothered me.

My husband’s results were in his MyChart by the time we got home from the hospital. I know I’m not a doctor, but they looked positive to me. Looks like there’s no evidence of anything anywhere else. I’m guessing he’ll still need a biopsy at some point, and when we actually hear from the doctor’s office I could be totally wrong about nothing spreading. For now, I’m going to look at this as an answer to prayer and continue to put him in God’s hands for the rest.

    Praying for you all.

    Love, Cheryl🙏

    l1ttlec,

H & I got a flu shot and Covid shot on Thursday.

My right arm is now less sore. I sure needed Tylenol.

I couldn't get a shot in left arm because of truncal lymphedema left breast.

Stay positive, for your husband to receive good results.

In my prayers one and all. 🙏
