Re: scanxiety, cant stop thinking im going to die
This website is filled with people who have had elevated CA 27.29 results and who turned out to be just fine.
Is it a good thing to have a doctor that checks the markers? No, because as MountainMia said, the markers are unreliable. Checking these markers is specifically not recommended by ASCO and the NCCN. I've had breast cancer twice. I've seen 4 MOs over the years. None has ever mentioned doing marker tests.
Your MO has her own Hematology lab? Yeah, it's not a very charitable thought, but that could be why she is doing these unnecessary tests and scaring you with unreliable results.

Re: Stage III Cancer Survivors .... 10+ Years and Out
Classic Weesa post! You are the reason I finally quit lurking and started posting. I think I've told you that before. Thanks for being here.
Re: Stage III Cancer Survivors .... 10+ Years and Out
I was waiting for my annual mammogram, happily back at BRRH and its women's institute, now in its luxurious new quarters. I realized - it's ten years ago almost exactly that I got my original diagnosis. All was well today - state of the art 3D images and all. Sending good thoughts to you all, wherever you are on your unwanted journey.
Re: Can we have a forum for "older" people with bc?
Sea day. Had a facial and love them. Bought a package of 3, so one more to go. Don't do mani-pedis, so this is my self-care treat now that I no longer get hair frosted. Mother nature took care of that for me.
Missed yesterday's excursion on El Salvador due to sketchy tummy. I've had this off and on since we flew to Seattle, but this is the first i had to miss something. Had to apply gentle pressure to get a refund, since their policy of 48 hours notice is not something I could predict. Asked if I saw ship's doctor as well and that's a hard no. Explained situation to agent who then spoke to her manager who gave refund. DH said trip which was listed as moderate exertion was actually quite grueling with some returning to the bus almost immediately. Chances are I wouldn't have made it anyhow. My left knee is just about 6 months out, but still not where it will be in 6 more months.
Taco, thanks for missing the quotes. I will resume them in November on my return. Hope your DD's well doesn't run dry.
We are heading to Costa Rica for next port of call and have an excursion planned. DH exploring cruises for 2027 already.
Waving "hi" to everyone. Hope everyone has a great day.
